I guess he told his team to survive that and then take their chances of stealing it by exploiting gaps that would emerge as City chase goals Yep had to have a good think about the game. My insist was to say Madrid rode their luck. Ancelotti took from their previous season Hammering by trying to prevent City playing for the first 20 minutes. CARVAHAL played a tough game so credit but for me , once Madrid adjusted to cover the right , he ensured nothing came down his side and thus limited City to a more predictable attack. With it only coming in from the left, and with Silva being restricted to cutting un on a weak angle, Madrid could afford - and expect - go absorb pressure knowing it wasn't really dangerous. City probed ambulance didn't penetrate. There was not one single chance I thought was major outside KDB over the bar. Not a Ancelotti masterclass but he did give them the Blueprint needed to win - the champion mentality.
