  • I haven't seen anyone as modified as you in Klamath.. I've only seen one trail in Klamath, i live at the edge of the winema forest no trails and most roads no longer useable. Sunce you seem to like events, An upcoming event that is closer than portland is the mushroom festival at my Phishga between eugene and pleasant hill - lots of trails, display mushrooms, food, talks, mushroom starts. Klamath county has lots of cheap damaged land that can be restored relatively easily, the soils good and once supported a forest of large trees so could again with a little help.

    • What is a Phishga? I'd love to do some restorations work. I'm dual majoring with a major in Natural Resources with a focus on Ecological Restoration. Thanks for sharing!

    • Mount Pisgah Arboretum There is also the klamath restoration project after dam removal. There's plenty of cheap undesirable land that can be restored/improved by terracing and water retention/management along with choice plantings Not everything taught in college is correct, look to how they used to think restoration worked verses now and consider.. example grassland restoration needing the traffic of wildlife instead of being fenced off for "protection"

    • We definitely have an issue with uneducated Americans, but it's hard to teach people who don't want to learn. The best we can do is be an example of responsibility and accountability for those who are intellectually motivated and emotionally intelligent, because those people are the ones that have what it takes to make the world a better place.

    • @@crustmuskandpixiedust the earth is a rock drifting around a ball of gas slowly spiraling into a black hole - in the long run, it's doomed no matter how many oil pipelines you shut down or how many people you put out of work. the earth has no intrinsic value apart from the utility it provides to the homo sapiens who inhabit it

  • Protect the environment. Has toxic heavy metal implements in skin. And should examine contents of inks. I mean on a grander scale that is something to consider on a manufacturing level. But you never hear a discussion of the chemical make up or manufacturing source of these tattoo products. Let’s start there on an individual level.

    • Having bodymods is no excuse not to make huge positive impact on our world by that actions we make every day. Can you think of something permanent you can incorporate into your life that makes a positive difference on our world and in your community? That is ultimately what this video is about, my bodymods are not in your way of doing that. You don't hear a lot about body mods as being a huge environmental threat because compared to fossil fuels, deforestation, and pollution it's very insignificant and if you are worried about toxicities in tattoo ink just do your research and find a good tattoo artist that uses non-toxic inks, they exist, there's even artists that don't use machines. But if you feel called to put all your efforts into encouraging the bodymod culture to be more non-toxic I won't stop you, but there are easier ways to make a bigger impact and it starts at the local level. When people start caring about the local environment that they are a part of instead of being disconnected from it. Where do you think needs your attention most? Your local community or the bodymod community? Either way you look at it, you can still do both.

  • Great spokesperson for Earth day Because covering your face in metal and polluting your skin with man made ink says “pure as Mother Earth” 😄

    @bluewater454@bluewater45413 күн бұрын
    • Covering your face in metal is no excuse to not be an accountable and beneficial contributor to your community. The way I look is not preventing you from giving back to your community, don't use me as an excuse to avoid giving back. You are responsible for your own actions and inactions.

    • @@crustmuskandpixiedust LOL just having some fun. Don’t take it too serious. I get that the metal and ink is just schtick to impress your new age hippie viewers. If it works for you, all well and good. You do you. Doesn’t have anything to do with whether or not you “contribute to your community”. I have found though that those who focus too much on image are less likely to focus on actually doing something useful. Don’t let one preclude the other.

    • @@bluewater454 I'm neurodivergent. I take things literally. I can't take YT comments seriously. Most lack any intellectual strength to be anything less than comical. It's a silly concept to think that someone looks a certain way, for others. I never understood the appeal. I look how I look for myself, not for others, everyone else could be blind I would still happily look as I do. It's just a way of self-expression, something a lot of older generations were afraid of, because being "different" meant rejection from the "herd". I don't care it's I'm rejected by the herd. I've spent a very insignificant time on my image, but maybe it looks like a lot from the perspective of those who focus TOO MUCH on image. After all, the video wasn't about my looks, but it was, nonetheless, your first and primary focus. You kind of outed yourself on that one. If image is not so important, why didn't you focus on adding value to the topic of the video? Instead you chose to focus on what wasn't important. Here are your words passed back to you "I have found though that those who focus too much on image are less likely to focus on actually doing something useful."

    • @@crustmuskandpixiedust Sorry if I’m just going to laugh now. I’m sure you’ve spent hundreds if not thousands on your tattoos, and just the metal alone has to take half the morning to put on - but you aren’t focused on looks or image, right? 😄 This reminds me of women who will walk around half naked and then act disgusted when guys stare - as if they didn’t dress to draw attention to themselves. Sure, if you say so.
