As a norwegian and a "bergenser", I'm actually really impressed by your pronunciation, especially the western and northern pronunciation! I find it so cool listening to Americans talk Norwegian bc I know that the english language doesn't have the rolling 'r' or scarring 'r'. Keep up the good work, bc your norwegian is really good, mate!

Very impressed by your pronunciation skills. Most immigrants in Norway are planets away, hard to understand mostly any of them if they try to speak Norwegian. All Americans I`ve met and heard in Norway has this typical American accent. You did not, which I find very impressive. There`s one thing I would like to add when it comes to dialects, Norway has one of the shortest distance per dialects in the world. That basically just means dialects in Norway varies very quickly. A short ride and you can hear clear differences. One good example would be, but far from unique, from Kristiansand (where I am from) to Vennesla, a 12 minute drive and you actually need to listen closely to understand what`s being said. The difference could be compared to Norwegian/Swedish, with many different words and a clear difference in accent. But you actually don`t need to drive 12 minutes, 5-15 minutes in whatever direction you drive out from Kristiansand and it`s already accepted as a different dialect, and in some cases the accent is noticeable different too. This is more or less common throughout most of Norway, with the Greater Oslo Region being the only exception, even though there are differences there as well.

They say it's easier for an American to learn Chinese than Norwegian xD but the pronunciation we have in the north is probably easier to learn than the eastern, tho the words may be harder xD
Mariann Martinussen lol
+Mariann Martinussen yeah and for some phrases, our sentence structure changes completely: Bokmål: Hva gjør du? Finnmark: Ka du gjøør?
Hoo Dini yeah i would acctually say: ka du gjær? Or: ka du styra mæ?
Mariann Martinussen It's weird how we live so close but talk so different lol
Im learning norwegian on duolingo and i need the accent
Impressive work on the dialects, esp. the Bergen one. I was not expecting that - actually on the same level as the eastern kids trying to bring da Bergen-style
Really good norwegian
I am from Bodø and only the elders say "kjæm", the rest says "kommer
and if i were to say "i come from" i would probably say "æ e i fra"
This is really fun to watch! Eg kommer fra Bergen btw ;)
you speak very good norwegian btw
Dude, you`re good at norwegian dialects! Better than any american i`ve heard :)
you speak very well in dialect :)
Impressive pronunciation of different Norwegian dialects
bodø is north........ right..... gotta take a trip to Finnmark:P
I am 1/4 Norwegian. I also would love to learn the Norwegian language.
wow, your northern-norwegian is really really good actually. close to fluent!
Kristiansand NORWAY and die hard LEEDS UNITED supporter 😊🇬🇧🇧🇻
..ja det va vintern i nittini.. :-D Thumbs up!
You’re right
Northern you don't use "kommer" we say "kjæm" in most of the parts. Like "æ kjæm fra Bergen", or some would say "kommer", but not chop it in half and say "kom", "kom" means come, not been or coming from.
really good norwegian!
I am amazed by how similar the Northern Norwegian dialect can sound to English. Just part of the Germanic dialect continuum I suppose
Dude! Your "Bergen" is spot on! :D "Eg kommer fra Bergen."
Well that northern dialect was one of the more "outwashed" types. I would say "E kjæm fra" but then I'm from a really small place... XD I have to say, your imitation of the dialects wasn't too bad tho, better than a lot of Norwegians xD I guess that old man was from either Finnmark or Lofoten tho, if you imitated correctly :p
Northern sounds like the beginnings of English, sounds just like "I come from"
+Taylor Lynn as most children from North norway says; " We're lazy "
Would totally belive you where from bergen ;P
Eg komme fra Bææææærgen! Very nice!
yes he looks Norwegian, but he looks and sounds mostly like a clean and wholesome Pentecostal young man. Am I right?
+Sandra Clark Close: Mormon.
Just saying, Norwegian media, has to include so much of different Norwegian
