    • Good to see you getting it!! As a character animator, Cascadeur is probably the greatest thing to happen since it removes all the tedious inbetweening and motion graph editing stuff for us. Therefore cutting our workflow in half and saving us so much time and stress.

    • @@AtomBomb510 Actually, a lot of the time, it's not that hard to tell the difference. AI sucks at processing second layers of information, which creates hilarious continuity issues with things that are supposed to be symmetrical. Hands and fingers are a case in point. Also objects that are being overlapped, or repeating/symmetrical patterns. It wasn't too long ago that I saw this AI "character design" on Pinterest; the dude literally had a third hand growing out from his back. There are lots of other issues, though, such as detail, anatomy, and perspective. Sure, the rendering may look good because most of the data it's based off of was stolen from places like ArtStation. But you can pretty readily tell there's no way an artist who's gotten to a photorealistic level of rendering would botch a character's proportions or bungle basic art fundamentals so egregiously.

  • I think we need to stress that AI isn't going to replace animators or artists, it's merely going to help pump out art faster. If someone doesn't know what makes an animation good or bad, the AI will never be able to baby them to the exact results they want. However they could get assistance from an animator to tidy things up. The process won't be as time consuming, it'll be cheaper and now everyone is looking to pay animators to help them with their little hobby project films. I see it as a win/win!

  • Cascadeur is honestly a fantastic animation tool. As a character animator, cleaning up in-betweens and polishing up the frames has always been my Achilles heel of pure tedium. And don’t even get me started on how much time I spend staring at the graph editor… 😂 (I know it sounds odd, I’m character animator with a small level of patience hahaha) The fact they implement a physics system for character animation is genius (I honestly don’t know why anyone didn’t think of that beforehand) and so helpful. The auto posing is pretty neat too. It really cuts down a lot of the tedious parts of the pipeline and I find it very beneficial.

My job is gonna be fine, Hell probably even enhanced with this program.

      @FrostbiteDigital@FrostbiteDigital Жыл бұрын
    • @@wolfuck hello! I hear this "losing your job" thing quite often, so I'd like to remember you guys that animators aren't software experts, they're a lot closer to actors. We, as human bodies, have more or less the same instruments as De Niro, so why can't we act like him? Because we don't have the same acting knowledge. The same can be applied to animators. You can think of them as movement and acting experts, the fact that the softwares are becoming easier to use is a blessing, not a threat.

  • I don't think AI will ever be able to replace animators. I always believe that AI will only replace the tedious/annoying tasks that we never like to do and seeing this software doing the exact thing that I am talking about makes me look forward to how much easier and more fun animating would be in the future.

    • AI has the capability to replace any digital job, or at the very least flood any market with a slightly lesser quality product. It's just like AI 2D image generation. AI doesn't draw the strokes, it just prints out a bunch of pixels that look like strokes. For 3d, AI won't have to make 3D models, do the rigging, animate the models, etc. It just has to print out the frames that look the same as 3d animation end product.

  • So I know that casvadur does have at least one major limitation for the free version and that's you can only do 300 frames at once my question is can you change what the frame rate is when working because if so that means you can really stretch how much time those 300 frames can be for a animation that I'd then export to blender to tape together the 300 frame scenes into a larger one
