Sheffield is the epicentre of climbing in the UK. The proximity of the Peak District and its limestone and gritstone crags makes this town really unique for climbers. After the video of Magnus Midtbø from Schoolroom in Sheffield, there is a brand new video on my YT channel from the outdoor crags of Sheffield. It is inspired by a classic film with Jerry Moffatt, and Ben Moon called The Real Thing from the 90s (which is absolutely recommended, you can find it on YT). Included checking wet holds of Hubble, old school bouldering in Stoney Middleton and flash of The Ace 8B on grit.
Starring Ben Moon, Jerry Moffatt and Magnus Midtbø . Me and my team we are really proud of this video. ⚡

    • @@_MRK87 As far as I understand it, basically modern bouldering nowadays has little in common with rock climbing. Competition routes are more often than not full of jumps and large dynamic moves (probably more attractive for average viewers...) and in many cases it's actually more like a parkour on climbing wall than actual climbing, because all these moves are rarely ever usable outside of the gym on real rock - well, except for this one moment...

  • I'm a lifer ski bum over 50 and still skiing 100+ days a year. I coach skiing at our local charter school. One of my favorite sayings, that I stole from another coach, is "the world champion loves to ski." Hearing Ben speak of his love of climbing with Adam so reminds me of this sentiment.

  • It just made my day watching this, which for me is one of the best (maybe the best) of your KZhead channel videos!!👌I even had tears of joy running down my cheeks at quite a few moments in this clip 🥲 You just nailed the music election. Could anybody, please, tell me what that song is? It'd be greatly appreciated 🙏 I know it says "Mountaineer - Abyss" at the end of the description, but I can't find it under that name...

  • Damn! Like this is really F-ing awesome quality! Bro Moffat, Moon, Ondra, stretching, breakfast, I'm pumped and only thirty seconds into the video! Ondra, you have become the best content creator for climbing. You are also providing us a glimpse into peoples daily lives. Can you please make a video about the history of the campus board and start the video at the campus center in Germany. This has everything to do with the first quasi/sudo replica for AD and for perhaps climbing in general. Wolfgang did 1-5-8 on two fingers at a distance of 20cm . However, the distance on the first wrung is at 23.5 cm, and the rest is at 20 cm. That means his 1-5 distance total was not even in cm but close to 84. Maybe it's 83.5...... I bet you that is the distance for the first move/jump on AD. Why not an even 84 cm? Why not an even 80 cm? So could you please give us some history on this. Moffat and Moon would know. And Why is the traditional campus board that you find at most gyms not at 20 but 22 cm? Solve the campus board conspiracy! Thanks!

  • im only 4 minutes into this edit, and my god this is what climbing needs from a visual stand point; absolutely stellar! There is defiantly a spot in my heart for the somber, delicate and masterful videos of struggling to tackle some of the worlds hardest problems; but this energy is just electric. Bravo!
