Can you hear the difference between cheap and expensive pianos?
I started the video by playing in a cheap piano, and then in the more expensive ones. I played 6 different pianos. Can you hear any difference in sound? Which one has the best sound?

The first one still kinda has a charm to it, idk it’s probably because I grew up using those kind of pianos a lot
Lime i think it sounds better than alot of the others
Same! I grew up on a 70's standup Baldwin (it even had a roll player in it). Even when tuned, it still has that warm yet somehow soft twangy sound. Its unique and nostalgic. I don't like high end pianos because they sound "muffled" to me. No character IMO.
The first one is out of tune. I have a used console piano that cost $200, I tune it myself and when it has been recently tuned sounds amazing. This video does not show a fair comparison.
I learned on a 50 year old piano that my dad got for free. Played it from when I was 13 and started taking lessons to 16, then my dad got me a used Steinway for $8,000. I cried when I saw it. I left drinks and got water rings on the other piano, never happened with the Steinway lol
@@BT-ex7ko you need to hear it IRL
The less expensive piano reminded me of an upright piano used in old Western saloons back in the late 1800s.
Yes - reason being that it was not in tune. You were hearing the "chorus" effect of unison strings not perfectly in tune with each other. And in the old west saloons the pianos were certainly out of tune! To test the Baldwin fairly it should have been perfectly in tune, unless that is not possible for some reason.
Busters Scrugs
Exactly what I was thinking
reminds me of Red Dead Redemption
@Csc BandBoosters definitely not that simple, those pianos be stuck in certain tunes
That first piano looked beautiful, like it had stories to tell 😄 as someone who can only play a very tiny bit of piano I’d love one like that, but for wonderful pianists a more expensive piano would of course be amazing. Love the vault room of pianos too, how fancy they look! 🎹
i love the idea that the 1st one has been through a lot but it still tries its best to sound good even all these years later, and i personally prefer how it sounds over all the other ones because of that.
C vrai que le premier piano m’a fait rêver à plus de 400 euros ça va pour un ancien et beau piano😮
It is not the object that makes beautiful muical sounds. It is the person playing it. Along with a well maintained one.
I think the first piani is amazing for amazing pianists too
"Cheap piano" **Starts with $500** Me : Cries in broke
In the piano world...
I have a Butt Ugly, Painted Puke Green c1905 George Steck Upright that I paid $50 for, that sounds better than the $500 Baldwin, however, I am a Piano Technician so I am in a better position to assess what a piano might need or be capable of.

I think the most expensive piano, mechanically, is still the same as a normal Steinway Concert D. The high price is due to the custom artwork on the case. It may have some more exotic wood in the soundboard than normal which may boost the price, but if so, I was unaware that Steinway had special wood they used in premier/limited edition pianos.
He should have played Chopsticks on the $2.5 million for the lulz.

I really like the 4th and 6th piano. They have such a nice and light sounds that is really fitting for classicla pieces
The playing experience is surely very important too. That was difficult to assess on my small screen with small speakers... One would be less likely to put one's platform shoes on the keys on the more expensive pianos; just another consideration...
So my takeaway from this is that once you go above a couple of thousand, most pianos sound the same on youtube while listening with not so great speakers.
My takeaway from this is that I'll never be able to afford a piano.
Morgan Mixer true tho lmao, to an untrained ear or if ur just kinda having fun listening to whatever music u probably will not notice the difference
My takeaway is that it’s so damn huge, and if it would fit it won’t be able to get in my house.
@@zedflores2945 well i have untrained ears, I can hear the difference but I wouldn't say more expensive sounded better, it's just that every piano sounds different and someone likes the sound of cheap, someone the sound of expensive

Lol are you even a musician
HOL' UP No dictator would sell land
That was a very, very misleading information (and I'm pretty sure you know that). You can't buy half of Venezuela for that. Not even somewhere close to that amount of land. You could certainly buy a pretty big farm for that value, but the relative value of one currency if compared to the dollar is nothing more than "relative". Considering Venezuela's super devalued currency, you would face three problems: 1. Nobody would sell any property in Venezuelan currency; 2. Converting from dollar to bolivar wouldn't make you have more purchase power or anything (to be honest, you would be left with - literally - tons of useless pieces of paper), unless you want to buy some basic items (like food), whose prices are fixed (but you would have huge problems to find people selling them at a fixed price, let alone selling them in large quantities); 3. The price you would pay would consider the state of the local economy, but you would pretty much pay not too much less than what you would pay for land in other countries in Latin America.
