Now who has the balls to hand one over to Misha for a week so he can have the world record
Misha is a nice driver but i think it needs a little more to set a world record
@@drbrofessor7956 exactly
Misha is a far better driver than a lot of people think. Very few know every little bit of the ring like he does. Give him a day or two in this car and he’ll smash that record without any doubt.
@@sneakersnsupercars not like mercedes gives random people from the street to drive the world record🙄
I love misha but respectfully he is NOT that guy,he is far from being the best in the apex team let alone setting records …so y’all should stop the dick riding
Impressive car, impressive lap, but I don't think we'll see many customer cars driven in anger on the Ring. Was that a 100.000 euro underbody scratch at Flugplatz? 🙂
Then foxhole scraping is more like 200k 😂
They're gonna have to start making these underbodies out of kevlar....
@@pin9r foxhole at 280kmh normal...
*sitting at table drinking coffee, entire house in blazing fire* "This is fine, car gets lighter and faster with every lap..."
They may have replaceable 'blades' - similar to the AMG GT Black Series. These are 'replaceable' blades that channel the air flow too and attached to the 'expensive' underbody tub and will protect that by grounding out before the floor can. These can then be easily replaced at relatively low cost. If you watch Shmee150's video on his Black series AMG GT who has also grounded out on this circuit, he was concerned about the damage until he had it checked and realised that it had replaceable blades to direct air and prevent the floor from grounding...
damp and cold track and still 6:35, absolutley amazing
8s faster than a GT2RS with 300HP more, not impressive!!
@@MH-wy9xb Again, poor track conditions. It makes a huge difference
@@MH-wy9xb very impressive, 22s faster than porsches hyper car

Sounds a lot healthier than the press drives car... Great video as always, also MASSIVE CONGRATS on the 400k bro ♥
400k? What happened the last weeks? Did not recognize it yet ... °_o Grats Misha =) !

Mr Achilles, I think the F1 engineers have been tweaking the amg one for this lap. No doubt.

From the footage it seems like there's a considerable amount for improvement still! Half way into the lap the track was very wet on some parts and, from what it looks like, he wasn't able to fully commit
Definitely it was the same with the AMG GT Black Series lap, I feel they’ve done it to prove a point and to maybe go again if in optimal conditions.
@@jpracing893 Yeah, I hope they do!
@@jpracing893 The point being, Porsche waits for perfect conditions while we simply make a better car.
@@AqueleJao I saw a comment on the original video saying the driver had to let off the accelerator in order to have enough battery to reach its true top speed on the final straight. Don't know if this is the reason but is plausible
@@toby7647 probably true, as they did only a few laps. It's very plausible that they didn't figure out the most optimized battery deployment
It's crazy to think a production car will lap the ring in under 6 minutes in a few years time, sub 7 is already wicked fast but cars just keep getting better and better, can't wait to see how Porsche and Lamborghini respond to this
"a few years" lol, it gets exponentially harder the faster you go. It took 4 years to go from 6:40 to 6:35. In optimal conditions the AMG One could maybe get 6:30.
At what point will it become human limit before mechanical limit? Like what's an impossible time for a human to handle the g force and reaction times needed?
i still believe the 991 gt2rs MR has a bit more to offer but its only a matter of time before porsche launch another monster and get the record back

Holy shit and it can be faster !! He slowed few corner, damp track! I think it is easy a sub 6:30 lap car. Smooth driving, too smooth driving ( never mind he had to adapt his driving style that os why looked too smooth)
I don't know the track in nearly as many details as you do but I always pay attention to the speeds reached by different cars at Flugplatz and seeing the AMG One fly through that part at 200 km/h is absolutely mind blowing. I've never been a huge fan of that design but eagle's POV shots made me realise how beautiful of a car it is. Starting the video I wasn't sure what could you say besides analysing the lap footage but you surprised me with a pretty informative video covering significantly more than that - awesome watch, thank you for that!
At the last flat section, he was doing 337 km/210 mph.
I would say, that the car is capeable of 6,25 easily. The conditions were really bad for a hot lap.
I'm not entirely sure about 6,25, but I'm pretty confident to think it can go below 6,30.
@@staLkerhu it could obviously go 10 plus secs faster
Great Video as always! Not all F1 drivers are banned from Motorcycles. Lewis on many occasions has ridden to the track on a motorbike with members of his team. I believe Rosberg during is tenure as a F1 driver also rode. At the end of the day, they need to be on the edge, which is why a lot of them do extreme sports. Lewis actually went skydiving a few months back to get that edge back into his psyche. LOVE WHAT YOU DO ..... The Ring is on the list for a visit... one day because of you!
and kimi just said to the question if he is allowed to do such things: "i dont care!" :P
Mick came to a race on a R1 the other day.
kzhead.info/sun/ZJuOY8WZnnWqgnk/bejne.html I think he's ok with riding fast motorbikes. kzhead.info/sun/ZaqgqMh-rqqehX0/bejne.html Oh and lewis has his skydiving license which requires at least 25 jumps. Plus and most importantly, there are no safety clauses in his contract. Mercedes lets him do whatever he likes.
Well, this car clearly sounds like a motorcycle
Its normally more related to motorbike racing / competing not just riding to/from a circuit. Marc Marquez must have some agreement in his contract (and I guess that is easier to negotiate when you are a top rider/driver) as does a lot ox Moto x. Or he did until recently. As for skydiving its probably statistically safer than going for a walk.
Thanks for doing this. Most people just see the lap time and that's all. However there is so much involved and so many variable. Explaining it makes cars more then the sum of seconds combined between start and stop
Congrats for 400k Misha!
Oh damn.. They're fkin nuts for actually pushing that car around the ring!!! Congrats to those mad lads!
Very interesting analysis Misha, thanks and great that you had the full lap footage to include. it does indeed feel like the car has more to offer and it seemed like there were a few times where the car was hitting the limiter. Impressive cornering speeds and % of the time spend over 200 km/h too.
Great vid recent subscriber I really appreciate your down to earth and no nonsense analysis.

Excellent content! I enjoyed the "debriefing" 😁
Thanks! I think the parts of the video from outside behind the car which show the bumpy road are the most amazing. The track looks flat, but it depends on the speed...
1st I like the competition between manufactures. It's safe to say when Porsche drops a GT2RS with some kind of an MR pack it's gonna be interesting to see how something like that compares. One question is will they make some kind of racing variant where they have the base car and will it dominate in actual racing? 2nd congrats to you and the team for hitting 400k! Glad to have been around from the Boosted Boris days. It has been a pleasure to watch you grow as a creator. Keep doing what you do!
T1 media quality content right here. Congratz on 400k milestone Misha and Apex.
Looks like a G-sensor actuated front aero. Lowers when its long fast curves or straights, and deploys under braking and tighter turns (higher G load). That transmission was definitely tuned for this track. Wasn't really in between gears...rang out the proper gear for the corner. Also i can definitely tell he is left foot braking entire course, its so smooth.
First of all: Cool footage, Misha! 😎 The lap: There is a good amount of time to be found. Lots of seconds alone were lost from Bergwerk to Mutkurve (I think a minimum of 5 seconds there alone). And as you said, all over the track they were far from optimal conditions. So I got the feeling somehow (no offense), Maro Engel was not completely at the edge at most parts were you find your time on the track. Am I wrong with this? What do you think?
Damp and cold track
if i close my eyes and just listen to it i would've thought i was listening to a KTM with a sloppy quickshifter. but yeah, that was a one quick lap i must say with some impressive speeds although I do feel like its a bit of a cheat to call these cars 'production spec'. it reminds me of homologation cars from back in the rally days which actually had no business with the actual production cars except from its base chassis and body shape.
Nice call. From what Chris Harris says, this car takes a team to maintain. For billionaire's only. I definitely wouldn't call it 'production'. It seems like Merc made a mistake deciding they were gonna do this project, but glad they pushed through. Most owners won't get the most out of the car due to this energy management thing. Thanks Misha for explaining! ... Too complex to drive at the limit, too expensive to maintain...which makes me scratch my head...what is the purpose of this car? Almost like a F1 car. Wait...
A few thinkings: -Gear changing sounds delayed(probably they will fix it) -Power decreased in some moments of the lap (in the carwow test the chief proyects says it fail sometimes) At the moment all would be fixed,we probably will see a low 6'....
You don't need quick gear shifts when the electric motors are accelerating through the gaps. The car is always going faster
Great analysis
Gefeliciteerd met 400K subs op naar de half miljoen!
Loved the video. But I would like to see more cars like these on this track for example cars like the maclaren senna, Aston Martin VALKYRIE, Rimacs Nevera and maybe even the Bugatti Chiron pur sport
The valkyrie would shatter all the records by a mile. The Bugatti and rimac are not made for circuit and are too powerful for the ring, they would be pretty slow
Why does Mercedes have a habit of doing track record attempts in the not so ideal conditions? Is it because the dates are already planned way before? I’m curious
The track is in Germany. The car company is German. You think they practice their runs a lot?
Dude those whistles when the car is down shifting. It's like missile coming down towards its target. Awesome!!!!

Wow that’s pretty amazing!
Did you notice where they started and ended the timing? The end was at the "normal" spot just after the last turn. But it started the timing on a strange spot. Between the two "normal" starting points. So they did not do a full lap, but they ran longer than most who skip the small straight.
Yeah, all the Nordschleife timings work like that. Start is a different place to the finish line.
@@JonnyCooper No they don't actually. If you look at the GT3 RS's lap not too long ago it shows this perfectly. They actually start the timer at two different points to get to different lap times. Most manufacturers start at the later point and then end it just after the last corner. As I said.
This seems like the perfect setup for an arms race. I can imagine this coming spring Aston Martin taking the Valkyrie out in perfect conditions, beating the record, thus compelling AMG to give it another go.
