The Kansas City Chiefs have climbed back up to Super Bowl champions with a 38-35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. One notable play was Patrick Mahomes scrambling to pick up the first down while on a banged up ankle. Colin Cowherd explains why the play 'was one of the great moments in Super Bowl history.' Andy Reid earned his second Super Bowl win in four appearances as a head coach (two with Chiefs, two with the Philadelphia Eagles). Colin decides where he belongs among the NFL's all-time head coaches.

    • I love Mahomes. I’m a homer and a half. But a big part of how successful he’s been is a result of having a genius offensive mind who can fully use what he brings to the table. Mahomes in Chicago May still have been very good. But the level he is flows a lot from having a mastermind who can design plays that fully use what talents he brings to the table.

      @Matt-cr4vv@Matt-cr4vv Жыл бұрын
    • @@jb7604 Not entirely...in the first half, the Eagles had a lead and could play keep-away, so the Chiefs didn't have the ball much. In 2nd half, you saw more of Andy Reid's offensive plan because, after scoring on the opening drive of the 2nd half, the Eagles had to try to score more quickly, giving the ball to the Chiefs more times.

All this without being marred by Bellchik’s antics and cheating.

    • No, he won't. Chiefs won't be able to last 20 years of having a great team, even though Mahomes joined a superbowl-worthy team since being drafted, same as Brady. Chiefs aren't the Pats though, so they will fall off eventually. When that team has no more talent on it, Mahomes will fall far down the QB ranking, because right now all he does is throw short slants to Kelce and watch him gain a ton of YAC. That takes no skill at all. Alex Smith could be winning these same superbowls as Mahomes.

Where was your QB on Sunday? 12 has more rings and total yards but 15 has gotten more sooner. 12 without Gronk was nothing to get excited about either. First year without him and 12 can’t even make playoffs. • @@Chris-ey8zf Bill Russell has 11 championships rings. Jordon has 6 rings. But we don't call Russell the GOAT. I've been watching football since 1969 and I've never seen a dynamic QB like Mahomes. His skills on the football field is just as impressive as Jordon skills on a basketball court. It took Jordan 7 years before he won his 1st ring. It's much harder to win Super Bowls than it is winning a NBA championship. Mahomes has won 2 SBs and 2 MVPs in 5 years as a starter. Brady and Montana has accomplished more, but if I going to pay hard money to watch one of them play, I'm watching Showtime Mahomes and Joe Montana is my guy.. Mahomes is the Michael Jordon of the NFL.

      @keithwhite8808@keithwhite8808 Жыл бұрын
    • @@keithwhite8808 You clearly have never watched much football since 69, or you'd know Mahomes is not better than Montana, not even going into any other QB. Mahomes would not have lasted a year in the NFL of the 1980s where defense was allowed to be played and QBs got hit HARD. Mahomes is a weakling who played up a sprained ankle as if that was a big deal. Montana was by far a better QB, and the only reason his career wasn't even better was due to constant injury, because again, QBs got hit back in the old NFL. Mahomes is not Michael Jordan. He isn't Bill Russell either. He may be Steph Curry at best, but as soon as that Chiefs team that was superbowl-worthy from the moment Mahomes was drafted starts losing talent, Mahomes won't look anywhere near as good. Having hall of fame players around you from the moment you are drafted is not a normal scenario, and if Mahomes was drafted by the Bears or Texans or Browns, he might not even be in the league right now. The easiest way to show why Mahomes will have a massive dropoff in the future is that the Chiefs have led in YAC since Mahomes came into the league. He throws a 1 yard shovel pass and his receiver or hall of fame TE will run for 90 more yards. Pretty easy to play QB when you have to do literally nothing to gain a ton of yardage. When that YAC drops off, Mahomes drops off. Now, tell me when Jordan had a bunch of bums surrounding him and he still led the league in PPG and his team in every single statistical category besides that for years before anyone good joined his team, how that compares with Mahomes who joined a roster that would have likely still won the superbowl with Alex Smith leading the team.
