I used to own an Alfa Romeo, that was easy to kill, I just had to drive it. Though not driving it also seemed to kill it. I think it might have been suicidal actually.

Actually the Hilux was sold in America from 1991-1995 when it was replaced by the tacoma. Most of those models are made in america but some do come from the japan plant. I hope to own one of these one day along with a Toyota LC70 Pickup!
A buddy of mine has an 86 Toyota pickup. I was changing the oil and doing a tuneup on his other car (he is hopeless when it comes to car maintenance), I asked how long overdue the pickup was. I finally pulled it out of him that he had NEVER had a tuneup OR EVEN AN OIL CHANGE done in the FOUR YEARS he had owned it! I felt sick to my stomach and finally got him to let me drain out the half quart of runny clay that used to be 4 quarts of motor oil. Truly the AK47 of engines.
I rode in the box of the Hilux on dusty, bumpy, dirt roads when I visited Zambia. It's a popular model there, no doubt owing to it's remarkable survivability.

I'm from India n have Toyota Innova 2013 model n has done more than 2.8 lak kms ,,n no engine work ,, must confess it the most reliable vehicle in Indian market.
For anyone wanting to see real hilux destruction lookup “whistlin diesel” on KZhead. He got one and even dropped it 10,000ft from a helicopter. The thing is a BEAST!

To be fair the car dropped onto a rather nice "pillow" of rubble and concrete. Had they dropped it from that high on its own, the impact would've flattened it completely.

That is so true about the Nokia phone. I have one from 2004. Simple yet durable. Not a deep scratch on it even though I toss it around. Retains a 1 week charge still. I take it with me when I travel to other countries that use the bands that it uses. Just as reliable as a revolver.

And 9 years later... My hilux 3.0 vigo is still sticking kicking up. It just won't give up no matter where I take this beastly thing. To show my gratitude, I gave her a nice 6 inch lift with Buckshot mudder tires. I'll also be changing the timing belt and clutch for the first time even though I still didn't have any problem with them.

With the building falling they failed since once everything was falling it would just land on top so yeah that's mostly the reason it stayed
Ok guys I looked this up, this is a DIESEL Hilux, not the standard gas. Makes perfect sense as a gas engine could not survive that punishment
