    • The mortar will definitely crack. Should've been built with outdoor refractory cement. The top I used castable refractory. Wouldn't have had hands and feet (BTW WTF?) looking like a trump spray tan.

    • Есть разновидность камней. Одни лопаются от жара. А есть камни которым нагрев и резкое охлаждение не страшно. В бане по черному огонь проходит через камни сверху нагревая их. А после на раскаленные камни обливаешь водой.

  • Чаша (мангала) должна быть из глиняно-цементного раствора (10:1) с армированием, на дне замонолитить решетку для притока воздуха, через которую можно будет вычищать после пепел на стоящий под решеткой поддончик. А вот сверху чаша должна быть открытой, со съемной решеткой или для возможности опирать на бортики решетку для гриля с продуктами. Саму глиняную чашу можно использовать для запекания в фольге в углях, просле сжигания дров, глина хорошо сохраняет тепло. И все это должно быть на высоте, удобной для человека, чтобы не готовить согнувшись, примерно 70 см. Для этого из камня делается небольшой постаментик с двумя опорами по коротким сторонам для самой чаши, а по широким сторонам как раз получаются отверстия для притока воздуха. Все это работает по принципу печки для готовки еды, на ней, конечно, надо иметь крышку от осадков можно съёмную, можно стационарную При необходимости такой мангал можно использовать и для сжигания мусора. Стационарно, легко в обслуживании, многофункционально, дёшево и легко в изготовлении, органично вписывается в природу и долговечно, иногда лишь отремонтировать глиняно-цементным раствором возможные трещины.

  • That is beautiful but please be very careful the first time you build a fire in it. Those stones and mortar contain moisture and can explode like hand grenades if they are heated too quickly !!!!!

  • Just need an easy access door for cleaning. But you should have used fireplace brick instead of river rocks. They tend to crack with extreme heat. But it looks great we’ll done.

    • Last i heard, river rocks could explode under extreme heat as well. Sort of like popcorn.

  • So eine Art Steingrill hat mein Dad in den 80ern schon gebaut allerdings nicht so offen, nur mit 2 Luftzuglöchern, sonst geht das Feuer nicht an oder ist gleich wieder verpufft. Der Grillrost war bei uns massives Metall und rausnehmbar. Heute stehen da Blumen drin. 😅

  • I wouldn't fix the grates with mortar, it's easier to clean. Better still, don't use mortar, there are grates with legs so that you can put on a fire. 😅

However if The heat is low enough they should be fine hopefully the water clay will protect the rocks from the heat by leveling out the heat around the rocks and if it's low enough and they're using it for like a fondue And keeping their cheese and bread or whatever warm It should be just fine I think that it's stunning and I think that anybody on here that saying anything other than positive things should just go somewhere else because this person worked very hard on this beautiful masterpiece that is handmaid with hand Picked rocks And this person worked very hard to make it something they really liked and it is absolutely stunning you enjoy that it's beautiful

  • Yeah the problem is with those rocks, they have water inside them and when they heat up they're going to crack and sometimes explode. What a waste of river rock
