He *did* seem to push the pace a bit in the second unlike in previous matches. Hats off to both though. Amazing competitors and athletes. Hope it's like DT said and they both meet again in the finals next time. This is a great rivalry to watch.

His journey since has been a roller coaster of very big ups and very low downs. It is gratifying to see him finally reap the rewards of his efforts and talent on the international stage. Having said that I’m an near equal fan of the great Hassan Y - the total package as a freestyle wrestler but also as an absolute first class act as a human being and a sincere patriot of his country. Iran 🇮🇷 can be as proud of Hassan as we are of David. And as human beings we can all be proud of both.

David got the better of Hassan this time but I TRULY expect a different Hassan next time. It was weird not seeing early offense for Hassan. • Taylor is 4-1 against Yazdani including a pin, a 9-0 second period and today’s one sided win. Yazdani’s only win was right after Taylor won O gold and wasn’t even sure he wanted to keep wrestling. Furthermore, Taylor has been injured since last year and only trained fully for 2 weeks….and he was still better and way more fit. Yazdani is not in his league, he has no offense if he can’t push you out or go behind from front head locks. He has no idea what else to do. He’s going to have to take more chances and that’s trouble, Taylor is a MUCH better scrambler. If Taylor stays motivated to keep wrestling, Yazdani has no chance.

      @cbrend22@cbrend22 Жыл бұрын
    • @@cbrend22 “Yazdani is not in his league”. Just want to address this, because it certainly is not true. Firstly, the first and second match Yazdani got a lead on DT in the first period and gassed out in the second and loss as a result. The third match, Yazdani had the lead in up until the last second when DT shot a well setup double leg and stole the lead RIGHT before time ran out. The fourth match, Yazdani completely dominated DT and liquified him in offense, defense, and a last second takedown to add a cherry on top. The fifth match between the two, Yazdani didn’t initiate much offense at all and was out scrambled from a takedown he almost got. Yazdani was on the receiving end of the domination this time. No one else in the entire weight class has beaten DT nor even SCORED on him outside of a few outliers. And you’re claiming that Yazdani isn’t on DT’s level? You’re either really biased, you don’t even know what you’re talking about. And a pin doesn’t tell you anything about the technical prowess of a wrestler. Case in point, Kyle Snyder, who got tech-pinned by Mohammadian and Kyle won the rematch. You gonna say Kyle is not on Mohammadian’s level too? That’s ridiculous.

    • @@isaiahdeck8747 very good analyse. whats your opinion, what should hassan do the next time to beat taylor ? i think only underhooks are not enough, he has to bring new surprise techniques and do takedowns, only underhooks is not the way to win. a freestyle wrestler should do takedowns. furthermore hassans body language was not aggressive, it seems like he didnt want to win as taylor, taylor was more aggressive and motivated. kamran ghasempour can beat taylor 100%, i am sure. in my opinion taylor is a great wrestler, but a good smart 86kg can beat him. the 86kg weight class is low quality, no good wrestlers in this weight class.

    • @@katcgn2413 I honestly believe Yazdani’s best chance is to be heavy handed and keep Taylor snapped down and on the edge of the mat. Just like you said, Yazdani’s underhook alone may not be enough to beat Taylor right now, and Yazdani can’t go behind when he snaps Taylor down. But Yazdani can certainly control where on the mat they will be. Taylor’s best offense is anticipating Yazdani’s arm reaching for his head, so because of that, Yazdani should probably avoid disengaging the tie ups with Taylor and just keep his hands on him

    • Just mentally exhausted...too much expectation from him in Iran...Just consider 80 million people are watching you and they all want victory and if you lose,it is considered as a big big national loss...wrestlibg is beyond just a sport in Iran.

  • Ah Hasan,ah! 1. Neden çok iyi hazirlanmadin? 2.Neden kibir gösterip mindere takla atarak çıktın? 3.Dalmaya kalkıp herif kapanınca geri çekilip kıyâma durdun def'alarca? O anda adam dalsa seni helâk ederdi. Ama bu acemi dikilislerini tuzak sanıp kontra oyuna girmedi? Adam hiç bir pehlivana değil sana hazırlanmış. Keske yanılsam,ama adam bu müsabakaya hayâtini koymuş. "Haydi aslanım Hasan!" diye coşan ümidimi, kamyon çarpmışa cevirdin be aslanım. Bir daha seni böyle görmek istemiyorum. Tez vakitte bu müthiş Amerikalıyı yenmeni istiyorum. Sana da, bana da geçmiş olsun.

  • Analysis of the 6:09 scramble: Yazdani got tired and left his hand in Taylor’s grip. Going around the back, DT3 manages to use his outside leg, outside hand reaching back and then over the crossface, and YAZ’s pressure to tripod back and over his shoulder. When YAZ switches to the crossface, it gives DT3 a better lever with that hand reaching back, which can pull YAZ around like a whizzer. My guess is if YAZ had stepped over the leg instead of straddling it the roll couldn’t have worked.
