I played your lava map on my channel
put the sand on untextured powder snow ( put it a layer down ) ( edit : make it in a snow biome untextured even )

How do you make it slower?
I'm not entirely sure how to do that, maybe if you can use the levitation effect in reverse and slow the speed then it might be possible
