The big question is: Who could you legitimately bring in to replace Ole ? No one decent is available. The only highly regarded manager who isn't in a settled position right now is Zidane and he said he doesn't want the job. To me I would replace Ole tomorrow if there was a great manager available - but their isn't and I don't think bringing in a temporary or caretaker manager is the answer. I would try to ride out to the end of the year - then bring in Pochettino - my guess is thats actually ManU's plan. Zidane will then take over at PSG

Truth of the matter is there is context Liverpool we’re injury crocked, Chelsea were in a transitional year and had sacked a manager, Arsenal and Spurs had arguably the worst seasons they’ve had in the last 5 years Leicester had a really poor second half to the season Villa and West Ham were not expected to finish as well as they did

I think that 2nd place was a legitimate reason to give him a chance this season. He's blown his chance, it's time to go. We're not winning anything again this season and Liverpool and Chelsea have overtaken us again. Even if (and it's a big if) we finish 4th, he's got to go
Also left out the fact that while Ole finished second, it was with 7 or 9 points less than what Mourinho did... yet Gary still peddled the lie that there is progress at United under his management. Spent over £400m on players, a high percentage of which either don't play in the first team, or barely get any game time. hasn't won anything Abandoned bringing any youth players through to the first team. Completely panics when there is any pressure on his job, and changes formations... the latest a 3-5-2, which out of 3 games of being used, has only survived 1 full game, half a game, and 20 odd minutes in the other game, before being completely abandoned. Just a complete shambles, and yet, people still make excuse after excuse for him.

That is what it comes down to in the end. The fact is United choked the Europa League final (which they never should have ended up in) last year and also choked a semi-final against Arsenal in the FA cup, since then the team has only started playing worse.

If you strip down Gary's argument; United tried two world class managers and they both failed so that's why he doesn't want to sack Ole in favour of another world class manager. Well done Micah Richards for voicing how most of us feel. Like most people here Gary has massive dropped in my estimation, I used to respect his opinion, but Now I can’t bear to watch him. Scholes and Owen spoke much more sense after this match.

To be fair to Neville, he’s always maintained that it’s the player recruitment and backroom staff at board level who have held the club back. That’s before you mention the Falcaos Di Maria’s Alexis’ Roy Keane talks about character and none of those players have it
These pundits need to stop protecting their friends, i have no clue how they still think Ole is the man for the job. It is up to the manager to create a system to shield the weaker players or get the best out of everyone playing, Ole is not doing that right now and it is so clear to see. They blame the players for not playing well and its cause Ole doesnt do anything to motivate them or give them a good system to play in.

By the time he leaves any club, it is in complete disarray. No good replacements are available. Once there is one ole can be sacked. Until then in ole we trust.

There is a point to what Gary says. He should be blaming Ole but isn't. But I don't think a new, better manager will magically get them back to the top. The rot has set in.
Kelly was right in what she was saying before she, as usual, was talked over. Van Gaal and Mourinho are managerial legends but were barely even considered modern at the time they took over United. They still won trophies through their managerial experience and the quality of the players but ultimately they were on a shot clock in terms of staying in the job. So it's not that United shouldn't hire experience, it's that United should hire an EXPERIENCED MODERN manager who has proven he can deliver.
Let's not forget, VAN GAAL and MOURINHO, won the champions league at AJAX and PORTO.

It is insane to me that Ole still has his job. Lampard is a Chelsea legend and still got sacked after a poor showing in management, Ole is overly protected because of his status as a former player at Utd.

As Gary is an owner of a club. I wish someone would ask him this question. "If you were the owner of Manchester united right now, and you saw these kind of results, and the fans reactions, and the questions surrounding Ole. Would you stick with him, or would you replace him?" he would likely dodge the question, but if he does answer, and says he would stick with him... then he is a complete liar, because you only have to look at Salford, to see how many managers have been sacked, under the Ownership that Gary is a part of.

Gary should stop pushing the blame on the board of Man united (yes they got issues) but the general who got the troops is the coach Ole. Ole was given so much money to buy whatever players he wanted by the same board that Gary talked about yet he is unable to manage the players he bought. My money would always say that "expensive ingredients don't necessarily means tasty meal. It takes the cook to know how to blend the ingredients to make the tasty meal". Ole got what he wanted and now he has no ideal what to do. He keeps doing Trial and error type of formation game in and out. As a good coach you must forget about the politics in the boardroom and galvanize your troops for war. The fact remains Ole got to go (and please we should look beyond coaches in Europe and even go buy a coach from south America who doesn't speak English probably but knows what he is doing).

It’s understandable that the higher offices at Manchester United have an issue, but that coming down to the performance isn’t right. The team clearly lacked a shape during the game and many other previously. I love Ole, for the fact that he’s a legend and he kinda stabilized but we are ending on the same road
