VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Jason was living the typical life, working eight hours a day and doing errands on his off time while craving the outdoors. He discovered the beautiful world of tiny home living and minimalism in the wilderness through reading books and watching KZhead channels. After time researching, he found himself the owner of a beat-up, multi-toned, two-wheel drive van. With hard work and transformation, his van is now a four-wheel drive, an off-road machine named Sasquash!
With a thoughtful layout, he devised a functional design that provides a space to call home while scouring new ground. Jason has a navigation system to help him through the untracked land and ample outdoor gear to assist when the trails get deep. He has a two-burner stove, a top-loading fridge, and several hidden compartments for random storage.

  • I've watched Jason's channel for several years now. His videos are so relaxing and fun to watch. It was strange to see his dog Daisy in the video since she recently passed away.

  • R.I.P. Wheeler & Daisy. Jason has a great channel, I've been watching Primal Outdoors since his bushcrafting days. Jason has a 2nd channel with just his new van camping videos named "Van Camping".

  • Jason was instrumental in my purchase of a rooftop tent. After my car accident I was lost. I grew up camping, and I shared the love of camping with my own children. He was the spark I needed to get back out there. So when I have time, I do get out. Thanks for having Jason. He has amazing videos, and his photography is top notch. We all miss his dogs, and we know how much they meant to him.

  • For that food prep cabinet, you could add a pull out "shelf"- it's not a drawer per-se, but you could pull it out like a drawer for easier access of things in that cabinet. Not a sermon, just a thought.

  • I loved the simplicity of the build.. This guy is too modest and gave out all the knowledge he acquired over the years.. Liked this video and the content.. This is what expected from guys living outdoors.. He just made me rethink on buying a camper van.. Thank you for sharing this..

  • First off, huge respect to this man for helping his girlfriend the way he did. I love the van build! He has done the exterior the same way I have been wanting to do my van. I'm still in the phase of fixing the mechanical issues.

  • Specifically, in terms of your videography as a creator there are five scene shots that totally emit that essence of greatness. The four tool science nearshots and pan cooking and side shot sitting next to your elderly dog comfortably gazing ahead.

  • @PrimalOutdoors great video! Watching it, I remember being impressed at OEWest by the nuances of your interior: the lighting, the double use storage doors, the craftsmanship. Even though you've made some changes like lifting the roof (yea!), it still looks great. See you at the next OEW!

  • The pioneers had stong minds to know where they wanted to homestead and then they went for it. At that time were very primitive maps and few trading post set up for them to buy goods. Some how we have been domesticated to much with grocery stores, big box stores, GPS, internet etc. I love when somone like this gentleman quickly figures out what he needs to go camping, builds it and then goes for it. Great camper (has everything he needs & more). 🌲🚐🌲☃❄ (the only thing missing is a dog lol)
