Kong using Suko like nunchucks is the absolute highlight of the film
My theatre burst out laughing when that happened. Me included
I laughed louder than everyone else in a packed theater. That alone was worth the price of admission.

Kong smiling with his metal tooth after Skar lost his was comedy gold. Suko is the MVP. I love how they just gave us extended scenes of just the animals interacting with no human exposition or interference
That was a big W, clearly Wingard knew what people wanted and it was a fun movie with a lot of fighting It wouldn't surprise me if he directed the next two or three movies going forward

Kong, with the beard and the ax following Suko gave me big Kratos energy. You can practically hear him shout BOY when Suko acts up.
I mean, a powerful being with an axe and a beard, a kid with red hair, Kong and Suko are literally Kratos and Atreus. The only difference is, Kratos did not use Atreus as a flail xD

I loved the added detail of Scar King moving his eyes right before Kong shattered his frozen ass into pieces. Adam Wingard wanted us to know that he was conscious and helpless in his final moments.

@@petergresh516likely out his near death damaging all his major tissue. If he just left frozen he probably would’ve died eventually, but Kong wasn’t taking any chances and crushed him into a million pieces 😂

not to mention, you notice the red glow in his eye slowly fades away, like Mechagodzilla after Kong decapitated him
The ape that Suko killed at the end and always ran away from Kong gave me Starscream vibes

17:46 huh what? You got it wrong, the movie literally said the opposite. Scar King and the great apes rebelled against nature, so Godzilla fought and defeated them, then imprisoned them in the Hollow Earth so they couldn’t come to the surface.

I agree, Godzilla was not banished by the apes. Scar King was the "evil" in the Iwi scriptures and that he led the apes but Godzilla fought them and they were the ones banished by Godzilla to where they are on the film
I don't even know how anyone can get that wrong, when Godzilla is protector of the Earth. He is the one who banishes anyone who threatens balance of nature.

Kong in 2017 alone got almost more screentime than Godzilla in 3 out of 4 movies
Now I know why Godzilla was like a grumpy cat at times and the colosseum scenes was definitely showing Godzilla like a cat

I wish the Titans sizes were more consistent. If Suko is 149 feet he should be almost half as tall as Kong and not closer to 1/4 like it seems in the movie This also happened with Godzilla in what I think was a French poster for the 2014 movie that showed Zilla taller than the Eiffel Tower which is almost 1000 feet tall
I was thinking the same. I didn't see a single scene where Suko appears that big. Most of the movie he comes to just over Kong's knee. Looks to be closer to 80-100 feet.

I loved that Godzilla had absolutely no chill and was ready to fight immediately after a threat appeared. Godzilla looked like he was having the time of his life during that zero gravity brawl scene.

Nah. Stars are composed of radioactive elements. Godzilla absorbs said radioactive elements. 'Stars' here is just an allegory or euphemism.
Nah. It's just our Godzilla. Something people don't really think about when it comes to nuclear power is that the first time we split the atom, we triggered something that only happens in stars such as the sun. Godzilla poetically "ate a star" because he consumes radiation and has the power of nuclear energy like a star. SpaceGoji is just a clone with a weird backstory. Nothing about him references a star.

I love that Shimu's design is influenced by the Rhedosaurus from 1953's "Beast from 20,000 Fathoms", a monster movie that inspired Godzilla. The frost abilities it has may even be a refference to the Rhedosaurus' first apperance thawing out from ice.
The novel states that Godzilla sleeps in the coliseum because it reminds him of his Hollow Earth home we blew up
Its crazy how the fans predicted all the plot twist in the movie 1.mothra stopping godzilla from fighting kong 2.Tye ice spike on skars whip being broken to free shimo 3.Tiamat being in the film 4.Kong becoming king at the end

I expected some Transformers level video game slop and I was pleasantly surprised. Love all the attention invested into Titans’ personalities. And that Golden Earring Hollow Earth entry segway scene was absolutely 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

I watched this last weekend. The monster fights were fun and looked great. Glad I decided to watch this in theaters instead of waiting to see it at home.

Well someone actually made a great case that the "Titan that ate a star" could be a potential setup for Space Godzilla, with all the crystals and whatnot in hollow earth, it does make some sense.
So much ❤ for this movie. Kong was funny in the last one, and hilarious in this one. Loved his tired dad vibes all throughout.
there was a scene where Godzilla was on his way to fight that giant spider and a military helicopter was near Godzilla's face... Godzilla roared at it like "GET OFF MY FACE" and the helicopter flew away... i laughed so hard on that scene...

It was a really interesting way to acknowledge real ape behavior with the Scar King being the dominant breeding male in the troupe, most of the offspring would be his own, presumably Suko included. The ape that SK kicked into the lava may have been Suko's mother.
Did anyone else notice Kong on the back of Godzilla just as they attack Skar King and Shimo?
Something I noticed is the scene where Kong fights the lake serpent could be a nod to King Kong Escapes where he saves humans from a giant sea snake

Shimo is actually based off an old Toho kaiju that they never used. They shot some footage but never added it to a movie.

I feel like the next movie might tie into using all of those pieces of titans that were just left around everywhere. Like we've got several teeth, the entirety of the scar king (in pieces), and probably shattered bits of Shimu's crystal. My guess is that the gov. might step in and be all pissed like suggested in the video and use these pieces to kinda clone their own titans.
When Suko grabbed the axe from the tunnel to Rio, my brain just went: The baby has a weapon? Not good not good, then he smashed the gem soooo
Have been waiting for this recap. On the drive home from the theater my husband says to me “That person from that KZhead channel you watch is going to love this movie.” I had such low expectations thinking it was going to be terrible but was pleasantly surprised and really loved the movie.

Movie was 9/10 for me. Action packed, good cgi, gave emotion to the titans and had decent pacing. My nitpicks are how convenient they found a glove to fit the hand Kong coincidentally just injured lol and tiamat fight could’ve been longer
