1) Impatience and haste (Take your time. Study their orientation. Observe. Evaluate their personality. Don’t get too excited that you forget to take your time. Except you love pain sha) 2) Overrating. They assume people’s character should be based on their tongues. Or your perceived character of them. Be emotionally smart. Be careful of immature validation. Don’t forget their humanity. If you plan to do this for long you just minimize chances for offense. BTW: Be careful of people who want to take advantage of your small season. (People can be of help. But don’t let them posses you) 3) Mistake of Underrating someone 4) Mistake of assumption 5) Communication issue. Side note: Remember some people don’t like you they just need your validation.

What happened to the old day of believers seeking for God's direction for a partner and wait on God's direction until he makes it clear on whom the partner is? It seems this generation of young ministers are teaching people to relegate God in their quest to find a spouse and rather depend on their sight, knowing fully well you can only know what someone wants you to know about him/her(some people have dark secrets). If you decide to get too close to an opposite sex the probability of falling into sexual immorality is high. Our forefathers who didn't know God married by asking people close to the individual they want to marry about the person's character and also consult their deities to find out about the family and person. They didn't need to date everyone around them to find out who's compatible, yet their marriage lasted till death and they mostly married as virgins. Why dont we christians return back to consulting God who knows the End even before the beginning to give us our spouse. God gave Eve to Adam, adam didn't need to test her, God still gives spouses if you depend on him
I wonder the same thing too. Should we focus on discerning who God wants us to marry or should we use our mind to detect based on some pointers?
Our parents consulted deities that weren't God yet their marriage lasted not cuz of their fake gods but because of the efforts made by the man and woman going into marriage. Even if God himself gives u a spouse,if u don't put efforts to make it grow and work,it will fail.
@@kingsleyimiefoh899 But I believe we need to hear from God because marriage is beyond just being happy, it's about destiny and kingdom. If destiny is settled, we can now focus on putting efforts to make it work. I pray God gives us more wisdom and direction in life.

Haven't you seen ministers who married terrible partners that were used to destroy their ministry? God formed the institution called marriage, and it'll be f00lishness to choose a partner without his leading. Seek for God's direction for a partner, then you both do your own part to make the marriage work.
@@JerryAlumka God won't come down to give you answers,however he gives you signs to know that a particular partner will be good for you. We know what we should look out for in his word and also we pray about partners that God should reveal the bad ones or show the intention of people coming your way. When u have people throwing advances that their behaviour doesn't tune with the promises of God in his word to us,you know it ain't it cuz his word can't lie as He is same yesterday,today and forever.
A wise person should analyze this speech bit by bit.... there is so much knowledge in this speech...most of what this speech is all about is what am struggling in my relationship right now.. and trying to make my partner understand the challenges within and how to resolve it

How then do you balance taking time to study someone before taking it further into a relationship, and spending too much time in talking stage?
It is only God that knows the heart of a person. People can pretend for as long as.......... but the holy spirit knows the heart of that person and he will let you in on it. The holy spirit helped me too in my single season. I had this guy I planned hooking up with. A pastor friend actually approved of him when I expressed my fears about some of his shortcomings as enlightened by the holy spirit. The Pastor waived it aside by saying "no human is perfect." "All humans are imperfect. Whoever you marry eventually will have a flaw too. Yes! Whoever I eventually marry will have his own shortcomings but not shortcomings that will destroy my life or detrimental to my destiny, not flaws that will make living hell, not flaws that will make my life a waisted one. The holy spirit must have prepared someone that will be able to help my destiny. Cos the reason for our lives is to fulfill our life dreams. Whoever the holy spirit prepared for us will be able to help us achieve the reason for our existence all through our life time. Yes! He may have flaws, not flaws that are detrimental to our reason for living or capable enough to mar our destiny. This is actually the job of the holy spirit. He knows the heart of every human and knows what is good or bad for us. I can't think of any other capable person that can help on this journey of knowing the hearts of Men and making a choice of a life partner than the almighty Holy Spirit. He will do a good job!

My problem is my temperament how can I fix it my temper scares me at times.
Hmmm.. First things first, having an uncontrolled temper is not a fruit of the spirit, so it is important to seek the face of God. Whilst doing the above, you can consciously cultivate the habit of being swift to listen and being slothful to react. Ensure that you have properly digested the information coming to you before reacting. Then, consciously channel your mind to be optimistic, you see firstly the good, doing this also helps you to be less defensive every time. Seek counsel from the scriptures to help you and lastly trust God to lead you to a superior who is able to guide you hand to hand.

You are getting it all wrong, am a lady, before you walk upto a lady, make sure you become friends with her study her understand if she's someone you can spend your life with before starting a relationship with her.
