  • Being disabled such vehicles appeal strongly to me. They are all very interesting designs but I have reservations about some aspects. Squeezing though narrow gaps between trucks or buses is something that I would prefer to avoid. They all have workable range and can charge at home from normal domestic sockets. The Isetta front door might leave the occupants trapped in the event of a frontal collision. I don’t much like the protruding mudguards which I think could damage pedestrians or other road users.

    • At the moment I have a Nissan Leaf Plus which I drive in e-pedal,mode and ECO mode combined. The Pro-Pilot system is invaluable on the faster multiple lane highways. I carry my power wheelchair in the boot along with an electric welterweight hoist (from Des Golding Mobility) to make loading and unloading easy. None of the cars depicted in the article could replace my Leaf, nor can they replace my mobility scooter which I can drive into my local supermarkets.

  • Minimum speed for the states would be 45mph. If not, it limits their viability.

  • Phenomenally useless. First, they only work in an "Urban (city) environment", where PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION is the real solution, and are otherwise pointless in any other environment.
