nice sharing give me insight how to wrap my rim
Thanks for watching!
Very nice I'd like to do that to my stock tacoma rims
Definitely give it a try! It’s And an inexpensive way to add a cool look to your wheels!
Me too!
Ps i have a black gloss grocery getter/kid hauler suv with chrome bling and aluminum stuff ok rims, wondering what color to use on emblems and rims... was wondering what would look good other than gloss black on gloss black... maybe gunmetal... any inspiration or suggestions?
Matte or satin colors seems to be popular and can add a subtle and unique look
Here is a video I made wrapping a Nissan emblem in Matt black. kzhead.info/sun/orR7faWfi5hti5s/bejne.html
How much wrap do you think i would need for 4 22" rims?
Automotive vinyl comes in 5ft wide rolls by XXXft wide. I think at minimum you'll need a 4ft x 5ft piece to cover four x 22" wheels.
how do you not scratch the finish with the knife - i dint see how the tip doesnt touch the wheel
Sorry for the late reply. So you have to use the flat side of the blade against the side edge of the spoke, that way the spoke edge guides knife while cutting. You also have to hold it at an angle so that the knife tip doesn't turn in toward the wheel itself when cutting.
What measures does that vinyl have? I have 18 rim wheels
The vinyl I used was about 19" x 19" to cover the 17" wheel. For an 18" rim, of probably use a 20" x 20" piece
@@ColorChangeCustoms what about a 26 inch wheel? What's the best and most durable vinyl wrap brand to use?
@@christopherray3626 for a 26-in wheel, I would recommend a piece that will cover the entire face of the wheel and accounting for any dips and recesses that may require more final in it. So depending on the wheel, I would probably cut a piece of vinyl that was 28 in by 28 in to give me a little bit of excess on every side. In terms of the best and most durable vinyl wrap to use, that is a very subjective topic. I don't know that there is any single one best given that every vinyl has its pros and its cons.
@@ColorChangeCustoms thank you
Grt video, any idea if the wrap survives a tire change? Wondering if it’s throw away if I need new tires in the next year? Also does it hold up well to drive thru car washes?
If you have wrap on your wheels and you get your tires changed, the tire guys will most likely mess up your wrap on your wheels. As far as holding up through drive-through car washes, it might survive depending on what kind you go through. If it’s a scrub wash that has brushes, it will likely not survive as the brushes will likely scrape off the vinyl. If it’s a spray type car wash, it might do ok if all your edges Are sealed down very well. Generally speaking, wheel wraps Aren’t warrantied by installers because Wheels are a high abuse area. Most wrap shops will tell you for any wrap, hand wash only; no automatic car washes in order to maintain warranty
Is rim wrap vinly is different from other vinly which is used at bumper or on hood?
No, it's just automotive vinyl wrap.
