  • I've had a Rain Design mStand in daily use for ~9 years and it's been great. Only complaint is the top feet have yellowed - they're probably made from TPU which really doesn't like UV light. The feet on the unit in the video look different though, so maybe they've changed the material.

  • Thank you. Here is some feedback. I watched 10 review videos before finding yours (because I tried to watch the most recent ones first) and it was the only useful one. Useful and educational information, judgement are backed-up with facts, clear accent for non-native english speakers among your viewers, no overuse of distracting visual effect and music, a few discreet jokes to make it fun but still stay focus on the topic, judgement on the product only and not the viewer. The biggest added value is that your pro and cons for each of the options are not obvious, they are not something I could have guessed just by reading the product description. Also, calling the BS about some claimed benefit (heat sink) was not obvious to me, I learned something. Finally, there is no unpleasant judgement on the viewer, like I sometimes hear some youtubers saying "it's stupid to spend so much money for that" ( = "if you have considered buying this, you are stupid) or "it's silly to believe you can get something good for such a low price" (= if you did, you are stupid). It's just fact, and backed-up judgement on the products, not on your viewers. To summarise: you gave me what I was looking for and gave me a reason to check your reviews first before anyone else >> a reason to subscribe. Take care!

  • The Rain stand does increase cooling due to it's angled position. As opposed to the smaller vertical ones out there where you put the macbook in closed and upright. There the warm air needs to be pushed down. (Doing it upside down, your ports are 'in the air'.) And as we all know, warm arm rises up, thus making the cooling process less optimised.

  • As far as I can tell from the footage, the stand rest plate of the iLevel 2 is perfectly thick enough for the use - its the hinge/adjustment mechanism that "gives", not the rest plate itself. Otherwise it looks simple, somewhat stylish and decent - hopefully this will be adressed and revised.

  • I haven't seen this yet but I have a Roost and it's good for traveling but I think I want something that still allows me to get the MacBook Pro closer to my eyes. Which means I want my hands and keyboard to be able to sit under the laptop and with this you cannot do that. I think the ability to get the laptop closer to your eyes should be factor when evaluating these stands.

  • I have the Rain Design non-adjustable/non swivel and love it. Its a sturdy stand with a clean design. The heatsink thing is stupid though. Whats the purpose of a portable laptop stand? You use a Laptop Stand if you're going to plug in a full sized keyboard and mouse, so unless you bring one of those to class why the heck do you need a collapsible stand? You don't.

  • I was actually looking at the Twelve South Highrise since the adjustable hight is a must for the use case that I have. Luckily I just went with a laptop holder from multibrackets which has vesa mounts instead. Put it on a monitor stand with vesa mounts and I suddenly had all the movement I needed from it. You may question why I would need to be able to rise the laptop that high up, but for my use case it's essential. I have it standing on my desk in the study hall (we have private desks allocated for each student at a masters level), it's great to get the same hight on the screen as on my desktop without having to buy an extra screen for that use.

The hub runs my mistel barocco, 27" monitor, DAC, and external drives. I run a Magic Trackpad instead of a mouse, and the whole system works great and has a clean desktop layout. Highly recommend it over a stand :)

  • Does KZhead allow you to stream content on two separate channels? I was thinking that it would be cool if you were able to create a second channel that would archive all of your live stream. This would allow people who might have missed the stream announcement an opportunity to view it after the fact, while also keeping the content itself from "polluting" the channels main videos. I can see why this might not be something that would sound appealing to every channel on this platform, but is it something that can be utilized by those content creators who would find it beneficial?

    • You have an external keyboard, just as in this video. I used to have one to keep my work laptop at the same height as my other two screens, but it broke and my company doesn't like spending money on such things, so I haven't got one now. I don't notice it that much, but would probably grab something if it was only a few dollars. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse on my desk so that I can type in front of my largest screens, and use the laptop monitor as a secondary screen for emails and assorted other stuff.

  • I use the PYLE-PRO PLPTS25 Laptop Computer Stand for DJ for my 15 inch macbook pro and it is only 17 dollars on Amazon. It provides good bottom ventilation and is adjustable. It comes apart if you want to take it somewhere and is thin and lightweight steel I think.

    • swami539 swamiji if we were to listen to KZheadrs, the results are obviously gonna be skewed in favour of OS X simply because of the speed advantages that background rendering offers on Final Cut Pro since their bread and butter depends on quasi-professional quasi-amateur video editing, which is EXACTLY the niche that OS X occupies. Most of the Hollywood guys use Adobe as admitted by them in behind the scenes interviews. Price isn't the only gripe I have against Mac platform. I have already invested over US$1700 on my PC. The thing that I hate about Macs is the smug, stupid, scamming keynotes. I can't find a GTX 1080Ti in Apple's lineup even if my life depended on it and yet the keynotes blow them up as if they were the second coming of Jesus.

Although we would love if Linus took more tech into consideration like phones and tablets ( consumer grade and prices ) Not to copy other youtubers but, phones that suit different kinds of people's Like what's the best phone for gamers What's the best phone for editor Best phone for university students Etc.... Also for tablets Not budget But how does the iPad Air line up with today's tablets and is it good for people considering their budget Or Lenovo tablet for university students. Because many high school and university students are the fan base of linus
