    • In it's original intention and iteration, the US had an imperfect, yet finely balanced distribution of power and authority. This ensured that all parties involved, be it citizen, politics or business never, didn't even have an avenue or opportunity to apply an excessive influence for their wishes at the detriment of the other stakeholders. The wealthy business owners were rulers of their world, The politicians only stepped in when business policies overlapped into and affected the citizen's and government's world. The government and it's officials were the same, rulers of their world, directly representing the US and the citizens that voted them in. At some point in the past, some greedy politicians decided that they'd like to have some of the wealth and influence enjoyed by those wealthy business owners, And found willing participants on the other side, who up until then, were able to get anything they wished for with their wealth, except for the ability to change, gut or remove laws they didn't like. This was the beginning of the end for the citizens ever hoping for a seat at the table. To this day, the citizens are the only group that don't have anything of value to barter with either the politicians or the wealthy. So laws were passed to gut worker's salaries, cut back taxes for the wealthy and remove regulations that limited the hours anybody could be made to work for... When these ideas were exhausted, they riled up the housewives in the 50's to become Women's Libbers and double the workforce and their wealth creation strategy. Pretty soon thereafter, they slowly began to work on increasing the cost of living so that *every* household required 2 salaries to survive. The politicians get wealthy... The rich get wealthier... And the citizen's are the ones creating the wealth but not sharing in it. It's a bubble expanded to well beyond it's design and prone to bursting... It's the very same reason why the French revolted and beheaded LouisXVI and his queen, Marie Antoinette.

Thanks to corrupted leadership in Washington. The US governments have been using wars to siphon billion$ of taxpayers dollars to enrichment themselves and their friends. Proof? Check the war in Afghanistan and the millions that found it's way back to office holders and their friends in Washington. The 4billion$ given to Israel annually find it's way back to politicians, and influence the outcome of elections via AIPAC.

We are 'free' slaves, employees with employee numbers (SSN)...just ask no questions, color within the lines, think inside the box, follow the status quo, be a good consumer, pay your taxes and everything will be just dandy.

    • What's happening to farming is quite alarming. Small generational family owned farms are shutting down like crazy, it's been on a steep downward trend for quite a while, in fact 18% of small operations shut down in just the past 5-6 years. Just to give you the scale of what's happening. In 1960s there were 300,000 dairy farms in the US and today 33,000 You either have to get bigger or you get crushed. Soon enough farming will just be a few mega operations and agro chemical companies already have farmers and the food industry by the balls. One of be big problems we have is they corn and soy are heavily subsidized by the government and crop farmers rely on a cocktail of chemicals to grow their crops in the same fields every single year in soil that's utterly being destroyed by these chemicals leading to even further reliance on these chemicals. Just look at Iowa, the entire state is essentially a corn and soy field, and what do you think are the damages of growing a single crop for millions of acres? They literally kill the biodiversity of vast areas to grow one plant

I don't understand this logic... Who do these CEOs expect to purchase their products & services? Do they aim for a limited clientele? Humanity is so shortsighted, We must discuss writing laws that limit the amount of profit one can keep per position held. And since corporations are people, this would included them.

    • @@deborahdean8867Actually, most immigrants work the jobs that Americans won't; primarily agriculture and factories. The current reduction in farm and factory workers, due to recent immigration restrictions, has contributed to the increased price of food and produce. Meanwhile, low income jobs historically held by Americans are plentiful, as most of those businesses currently have a severe labor shortage and can't find enough workers anymore. Immigration is not contributing to the increase in housing costs. You can thank corporate developers, market fluctuations, and the banking system for that. Btw, do you realize that an entire neighborhood of South Americans will all live together in one house? No, immigrants are not driving up the cost of housing. Sorry, but someone must have lied to you.
