Oliver Anthony - Rich Men North Of Richmond

2023 ж. 7 Там.
135 406 761 Рет қаралды

When I first came across Oliver Anthony and his music, I was blown away to say the least. He had a whole collection of songs that I could listen to for hours. Oliver resides in Farmville, VA with his 3 dogs and a plot of land he plans on turning into a small farm to raise livestock. We have a whole mess of songs set to release of Oliver for your viewing and listening pleasure, he is truly special and notes his biggest influence as Hank Williams Jr. Oliver wants to give hope to the working class and your average hard working young man who may have lost hope in the grind of trying to get by.

This song and “Clover Cage - In the Moment” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together..I love you ❤️

    • I admire people who can physically handle working that much. Doesnt it get depressing spending that much time at work and much less time with your child and family? Wouldn’t you like to make the same amount of money but work fewer hours and in turn have more time with you child? I know from personal experience that a parent that works 50+ hours a week does not have the time or energy to spend quality time with their spouse and children. I was raised by a father who worked so much that the only time I saw him was at night just before bed. Children would much rather spend actual time with their parents and go on adventures than have all the toys and trendy materials any day. Gifts and staying up with the trends was nice and all, but I craved actual time with my dad. I cherish the times we went camping and when we didn’t have much far more than any of the material items he would buy me. Life is too short. Spend time with your loved ones as much as you can. We shouldn’t have to choose between family and work.

He speaks out against taxation, people living off welfare and the like. That is very anti-socialist. You are thinking that the "rich men" he's speaking about are simply businessmen, and while he does speak about low pay, I think that it something that resonates today because your money does not go as far as it did just a few years ago. My parents are almost into their 80s now, and they have never had good days in their whole lives - they have endured much pain and struggle even unimaginable to me. Nowadays, the so-called 'elite' (whether in the USA or China) is busy developing big and fancy ideas, leaving the working poor stuck in devastation. • People need to start admitting the real reason this all started going south and it wasn't the last few presidencies. Its our whole generation and it's been the sacred cow of the last 30 years. The marginal tax rate for wealthy people used to be 91% than 70% and now it's 38%. Does anyone really think that trickle down economics worked? Taxing the obscenely wealthy at such a low rate only allowed the wealthy to hoard more wealth and create more billionaires. That means that the purchasing power of normal people keeps going down. The super rich drive up prices of all our necessities from rent to housing. They buy up more real estate in investment properties and keep driving up prices to where normal people can't afford to live. Property tax rates keep going up to benefit the wealthy and squeeze out the middle class and poor. Homelessness is at its highest point in decades while investment properties sit empty. You don't need to be a genius to know that even if your wages go up slightly, if a wealthy person gets way more wealthy, your prices go up. Imagine a farmers market where a billionaire is willing to pay a million dollars for an apple. He's gonna get that apple while everyone else starves, even if the farmer has enough apples to go around.

They could make you sing and dance like a puppet just like any politician out there if htey wrote you those million dollar checks. You can say you wouldn't, but you would. It's too much money to pass up. No one should have as much power as the rich have.

She lost her parents to communism and moved to the US to get away. She said people would regularly disappear never to be heard from again. But it does make me worry - if it can happen there, it can happen here. Hopefully we muster the courage and wisdom to overcome this threat. I believe our nation is at risk of falling apart, just like Soviet Union did in 1989. These are dark days, and hopefully we emerge victorious, but it is far from guaranteed and unless people actually DO something, we will lose.
