How to make a chisel from an old bearing---I made this tool for my home woodworking project, it has a unique design compared to common chisel. Some blacksmithing work for this project. For the first time in this video, you will notice my simple forge oven and my improvise striking anvil that I use for my knife making and restoration projects. , I hope you enjoy watching this video

  • For me the seminal moment in this video was when you so ingeniously used a welding magnet to hold on to the chisel while sanding. I've watched every Forged In Fire episode that has aired, and NOBODY had the sense to do that! Bravo! And oh yes, that answers the question "can I use my machine lathe for wood?"

  • Well done, beautiful work. The outer bearing ring is made of ShKh15 steel. After repeated heating and forging, the hardness decreases. The cutting edge of the bit must be hardened. Молодец, красивая работа. Наружное кольцо подшипника изготовлено из стали ШХ15. После многократного нагрева и ковки твердость снижается. Режущую кромку долота необходимо закалить.

  • This has got to be the best looking chisel that I have ever seen. Loved the curved portions of the back of the chisel. I have only always seen those potions of chisels beveled. Loved that you used those old brass fittings and turned those things in a very beautiful work of art. Man.... I wouldn't bring myself to use the chisel, it's too good looking.   • Beautiful work. I like the brass fittings and the artistic design of the handle. The polished brass, wood handle, and polished blade are fantastic work. Great work on the chisel blade design as well.

    • You cannot draw straight lines with the ruler coz you think either the ruler or the pencil is going to draw the line for you... just pay attention :)
