At 7:11 the tractor's front grill is completely cogged. I notice the fields are quite small compared with fields in the US.
a single US field - middle-state size - would take up most of the Netherlands ;) From what I've seen of New England farming, their fields are very similar size to what we have in most of Europe

5:50 - It looks like they are pulling from the front top link pin. I'm not sure it's designed for that force.
I believe it's a weight transfer system to help with traction, put pressure on the cylinder and it moves weight from the trailer onto the tractor.

Is dit nog normaal ? Een boerderij met 2200 melkkoeien ? Ik denk het toch niet !!!! Een boerderij met 150 melkkoeien vind ik al gigantisch !!!! Nu begrijp ik ook waarom kleinere boeren zo weinig voor een liter melk krijgen .... Het is de achterdeur uit.

60.000 kg with agri equipement. 50.000 kg with normal trucks.
@@MeneerdeLaat interesting... in Denmark agri equipment only have an axle load limit, can't remember the exact number, which is also why you don't really see regular trucks used for fieldwork here, their weight restrictions are much lower. But on the other hand agri equipment can't go faster than 30 km/h

@@MeneerdeLaat HELL no 😅 60m3 max silage load, 30.000kg weight for the trailer. 60m3 is NOT 60.000kg my friend do you have any idea how heavy 60.000kg is? The axle load in the Netherlands is 11500kg, the trailer has 4 so 46.000kg max load but the push-off system and design of the trailer (and tractor pulling it) are safe to drive max 30.000kg. Safe for the frame, the push off system, the tractor pulling it and the other road users the combination encounters carting the crop from field to farm. Max load silage with using compactor = 60m3 Max weight trailer load = 30.000kg (67000 pounds). 60m3, or a full load of maize silage like in this video, would be around 13.000-14.000kg. A full cart of corn from a combine would be around 45.000kg which would still be legal but the trailer isn’t calculated for it.

I think it was stuck in the mud, if you look later on at the aerial shot you can see that part was pretty muddy

Is anyone here, who can explain how doesn't that freshly harvested - grinded plant material start breaking down and turning into compost? 🤔It is like a big pile of compost material to me, how can you feed that to animals? Or is it kept in those huge piles for only a short time? Thank you in advance 😊
It’s closed off air thight it will then ferment so it’s still safe to be eaten by cows

for an operation that big, it's worth buying the machines.
either that or they own a stake in the agricultural services company that provides them. Many of those are coops, and that way there are fiscal benefits as well as some static income from the equipment and people being rented out to other farms when you don't need them. My father used to be CEO of one such company, they're big business.

Für mich ist das arbeiten mit einem Futtermischwagen und dem Radlader bei der Betribsgrösse total ineffizient . Da gehört nen Selbstfahrer hin !

I do wonder how many cows that farm has, considering it's the largest dairy farm in the Netherlands. One of the biggest where i live has about 800 dairy cows. The biggest dairy farm in Sweden has up towards 1,200 or more cows. Then, Sweden doesn't have as many mouths to feed, as we only have a little less than 11 million people, and not everyone drinks milk
So correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the Massey tractors all in DIRE need for tyre replacement? The tyres look worn down to the point they have barely any profile left. No wonder they have traction issues on that soil.
But by doing so you drag less mud off the field and on the roads
@@moto229111it's better to have more mud on the roads thsn to have a tractor that can't do it's job, because the tires were in a too bad state

Als je zoveel koeien heb , ben ik bang dat ze niet buiten komen .Dat zou verboden moeten worden.
Ik denk dat de dieren het hier prima hebben. Als je het hier zou verbieden, verplaats je de productie naar een plek waar er minder goed voor gezorgt zal worden. De vraag naar product zal niet veranderen als je de productie hier verbied.
@@0jesse10397 lekker makkelijk, 30% van de melkprijs af voor de boeren die ze op stal laten. Want uiteindelijk kiezen ze voor het op stal houden vanwege de kosten.
Veel koeien die buiten komen hebben ernstige gezondheids problemen, vooral infectieziektes. Gevolg van een eeuw of meer van inteelt. De veehouderij is al vanaf de jaren 80 bezig om dat te herstellen maar het gaat nog tientalle jaren duren voor de veestapel weer gezond is. Die stallen kom je niet in zonder verplichte desinfectie, overschoenen, handen wassen met desinfecterende zeep, etc. etc..

Wat ik bij de koeien vaak zie is dat ze juist graag binnen op stal blijven. Hier krijgen ze een aantal uur per dag zelf de keuze, maar meestal moeten we ze juist “buitensluiten” omdat we anders de premie voor weidegang niet krijgen omdat ze gewoon binnen blijven. Dus eigenlijk vinden we het juist zielig dat we ze naar buiten moeten jagen, maar dat is wat het publiek nou eenmaal graag wil zien 😢
