Songs For Lonely Rainy Nights by Mount Shrine for Cryo Chamber
👉 Cryo Chamber Bandcamp: cryochamber.bandcamp.com/

Dear listeners, for 4 years I've dedicated my life to making these rain-soaked, impressionist and sedative ambient songs. Inspired by, not just some of my favorite video games franchises (like Silent Hill, Forbidden Siren, Dark Souls and Bioshock), but the decaying urbanist landscapes of where I live in Rio de Janeiro.
I've painstakingly worked on this mix for a week, choosing the right tracks, working on the perfect crossfade between them, to be able create this one-hour seamless mix, one big musical suite. - Mount Shrine

  • Confession: I quit my job due to the stress of the pandemic in order to go to school full time. I'm sitting here now worrying about my financial future and my chance at being successful. I am so painfully overwhelmed that I feel like giving up on everything. This music alleviates my anxiety in a way that 'talking' hasn't. Thank you Mount Shrine and Cryo Chamber. Thank you for being the flickering light in this dark scary mind of mine.

    • Hi, hope you're well. I also quit my job, due to the pandemic, but for health reasons. I am on unemployment benefits for the 2nd time in my life. I'm 52. Sometimes I stress a little, and get anxious, but I'm getting thru. I strongly believe things happen for a reason. You just have to go with the flow, and believe in yourself and trust the universe. Nothing lasts forever, including dark times. One day, you will see the light. Wishing you all the very best and most importantly, stay safe. 💕

    • We can never avoid nor overcome death...there is no living on...neither of body nor soul. - But the work is living on with all spirits the artist, Cesar Alexandre, put into it. By in-spiring us, the very essence of his works, will live on...and on...and on...which is almost like a kind of small, human immortality.

Nothing puts me in such a feeling like every time I hear "Subtotem". Every time I hear "Exile" on this playlist, I was always grinning because I knew "Subtotem" was next in line. At afternoon, futile meetings, office politics, social butterflies, corporate powerplay and Dilbertian crap, but man, at night... No traffic noise, no boss/co-workers annoying me on MS Teams, e-mail or cell phone... It's just me, my datasets, my log-linear models, M-estimators, classification/regression trees and the like. Then I turn the notebook off, take a bath and watch TV or binge-drink listening to music till 5 AM undisturbed (since wifey is sleeping), then I go to bed in order to -avoid the damn sunrise- wake up at midday, lunch with wifey, take some vitamin D and begin another workday.

For those that don't know, he's one of the absoulte best in the vaporwave scene and extremely famous there for his great work. He'd make complete remixes out of Old jazz songs, Sade, Old Bosnova songs you name it. Had zero clue he did dark ambient/ambient work. It really is a damn shame to see him pass because his music actually really slaps. As you can tell, never any BS from him as he put it all in every track. May you RIP Lindsheaven. • Listening to these songs, I often find myself imagining myself surviving a pandemic that has wiped out 99% of humanity; everyone you knew has passed away, you are alone, sitting in an empty and silent world. You only feel an immense dizziness, where a cold sadness merges with a feeling of fullness. And suddenly my kids come home from school slamming doors and knocking over everything in their path. And I feel happy. Thank you so much for sharing this music.

It will always hold a very special place in my heart and I always come back to it when I'm in need of comfort. And everytime I listen to it, it brings back the feeling of hearing it for the first time. Thank you Cesar, your music will live on forever.

    • me too. I couldn't listen for a while. I was so excited for his new music. His music always brings me a special calmness. There's nothing else quite like it. Even though I never met or knew him, it's like a piece of his soul is in these songs. It hurts so much that new songs won't come. Thank you Cesar for all your music.

While with us, you gave us all unprecedented serenity with your incredible field recordings, drone and penchant for the ambient.
