Greg Geraldo was worse. Jeff Ross says stuff because it's a laugh; he's roasting you because you're famous, not because it's personal. Just like Don Rickles, he kicks you around for a bit, then kisses your ass at the end because it's his job. You wouldn't be here if you weren't able to draw a crowd. Ross and his tour support probably write the celebrity's material to make them look good in the rebuttal. Jeff Ross knows that work is more important than pissing somebody off. It's a paycheck, not a prizefight. Geraldo meant everything mean he ever said to anybody. I saw roast battles against other comedians where he brought up messed up stuff or made very shitty personal remarks. He took on Dennis Leary on _Tough Crowd_ and got Leary so mad they stopped filming. He took no prisoners because he wanted to win.

Greg Geraldo was worse. Jeff Ross says stuff because it's a laugh; he's roasting you because you're famous, not because it's personal. Just like Don Rickles, he kicks you around for a bit, then kisses your ass at the end because it's his job. You wouldn't be here if you weren't able to draw a crowd. Ross and his tour support probably write the celebrity's material to make them look good in the rebuttal. Jeff Ross knows that work is more important than pissing somebody off. It's a paycheck, not a prizefight. Geraldo meant everything mean he ever said to anybody. I saw roast battles against other comedians where he brought up messed up stuff or made very shitty personal remarks. He took on Dennis Leary on _Tough Crowd_ and got Leary so mad they stopped filming. He took no prisoners because he wanted to win.
