Actually, the No Limits M3 GTR can be considered canon because Razor comes to Blackridge (No Limits city) to get to back M3 GTR and we learn that it is #1 in Blackridge Blacklist and try to knock it down. Kim (the girl who helped us with no limits) also mentions Rockport. So the No Limits M3 GTR could be the real M3 GTR rather than a replica.
it is the real M3 GTR, it ticks all the boxes, plus razor is a permanent resident of blackridge as he often appears in some story events, now is a neutral character also, joe from heat is there too
It’s the real one but at the same time Razor is terrified of it and that you have it, it was hilarious getting the car in the game cuz it gave him Vietnam flashbacks of the OG Character who beat his ass. Also the OG character contacts you in No Limits and says, Rockport, and the other cities he raced in on Underground 1-2, Carbon are his cities but you can have the NoLimits city cuz he thinks it’s a shithole which made me laugh

That one looks more of a replica, with the wrong tone of yellow, closer to an orange and the concave turbofan wheels that were added with the car. Why they added the concave turbofan instead of the wheels used in Heat? (Rethorical question)

I personally like to believe that “The Blacklist” from Unbound is the Player Character from MW and Carbon, as they were the only person from Rockport’s Blacklist that didn’t get arrested at the end of MW.
Yax says 'some guy got out of jail and first thing he wants is this car' or however it goes. That says Razor to me, since player wasn't arrested.

I can tell y'all why the M3 GTR sounds the way it does Back when the car was being used in the 24 hours of LeMan, they swapped out the traditional 6-speed manual transmission with a sequential gearbox with straight cut gears, which creates that high-pitched whine as you climb into the higher RPM range As for the V8, it was a prototype motor that never saw production after its use in the M3 GTR

There's actually a couple M3s with an actual V8 that are street legal but very rare to find they made them to be able to continue to use that version in racing since the M3 only came with i6

I think "The Blacklist" from Unbound is either the MC from U1, 2, MW, Carbon or even crazier Razor. Think about it, roughly 15 years passed since Razor went in prison for street racing, he would be free by the time Unbound happens, given all the games happen in the year they were released (roughly)

@@snakeeyes7165yyup, it's pretty heavily implied that the client was Razor. My spin on the story is that Unbound happens before Heat contrary to the release order of the games. So after Speedie's turn Mercer's gang intercepted it from the delivery chain to Razor, and now it's with the Heat protagonist. The pink slip is likely still with Razor if it wasn't in the car when we took it back in MW'05.

Not really, correct me if I'm wrong but they never used the M3 as marketing for any game (apart from being a dlc in most wanted 2012), but rather as a bonus or special vehicle usually at the end of the game. So yeah they use it because obviously they know is probably the easiest way to get he fans happy but I don't think it's for the money

id love to see a nfs game in the future where the entire premise is your character from mw and carbon tracking down the car, completing missions and beating racers in order to get information leading to the cars owner and location. and then at the end you beat the guy, get the car back, and keep it leading into a sequel where the entire premise of that game is to keep people from stealing your m3 youve waited decades for and worked so hard to get back
currently the latest story says that you stole the car from the docks in order to deliver it to 'razor' who just got out of prison and wanted it badly, so the M3 GTR is back in razor's hands...

Maybe the player character got the car way earlier than 2004? Like maybe 2001? And he had been keeping the race car in his garage for quite a while, though he did maintain it so it didn't waste away But after that botched race in 2004, he had no choice but to dump the Supra or sell it off near his garage and took out the M3 for the first drive in a long while
Unlikely, considering that the Most wanted left palmon city with the Toyota Supra the very same night, leaving no time to change car in the city. (Also we saw in the very same cutscene the Toyota Supra in the highway leaving the city) So the M3 GTR must reach his hand after leaving palmon city
@blackfangex6813 My guy, we only see him making his way to either Fortuna or Silverton, it's likely he just ditches the car to grab his M3 GTR from the garage he stored it in, and it's likely the Autozone garage in Fortuna that is the nearest to where he was going

The M3 GTR was an odd choice at first but fit in so well with MostWanted´s other Blacklist cars. The others cars arent the flashy Underground cars but more GT inspired and have alot more serious and darker tone. The many IRL MostWanted M3 Replicas show that it is achievable in the looks department while that famous V8 gearboy whine can only be had with the few real racecars that got built :) Sadly I think EA milked this car a bit too much instead of focusing on new unique Halo cover cars...
Considering that the BMW M3 GTR (ALMS 2001) is a formal racing car, it's a shame that it doesn't appears in ProStreet or Shift.

6:31 actually, in NFS ProStreet, you can't buy it, but in some rare occasions, in some events, a BMW M3 with this livery appears, but the car is silver with the white livery (at least in my gameplays), and is rare ASF, I only saw this in 4 occasions when I was playing the career mode (I made the game 100% and it was only in drift events for some reason). So, yes and no at the same time.
In Need For Speed Heat , you can get the real sound of the M3 GTR with a mod called UNITE that changes the transmision and engine sound from the original NFS Most Wanted and carbon , with that mod is the most realistic car from the original and from all NFS games on date.
Also just throw a Centerfugal Supercharger and it sounds like the MW05 version but way better
still won't sound the same bc in Heat the engine has 1000 RPM lower redline than the MW/C version, i guess they are taking the Strassenversion as a reference point bc other games that feature M3 GTR did the same as well
The 2012 version was supposed to be actually real one. Those who know the beta version of the game know what I'm saying.

I am 90% convinced that the car is actually cursed (blessed?) with supernatural black magic or something, in the "NFS cinematic universe". The way it always appears wherever there is some new hot races and police chases going on and appears before the "protagonist", whoever that is; and how it almost always manages to appear fully repaired and ready to wreck havoc despite crashing on multiple occasions (e.g. at the start of Carbon and at the end of Heat)

Explaining need for speed most wanted just brings me back to my childhood man. 10/10 best need for speed. Loved it. The story, the gameplay, everything. I really hope they remaster it.
The BMW M3 GTR with one of my favorite cars in need for speed. It was basically one of the fastest cars in the game, so yeah no wonder why I love it so much because I love that V8 engine sound when it does the mechanical wine

You didn't conclude no limits (M3 GTR) and razor come to blackridge get back to take M3 GTR kim (the girl who help our player) mention that she heard stories about that and she mentioned the rockport city i think is we have M3 GTR is the real car from the most wanted game
This car can also be recreated in NFS Shift & Shift 2. What you have to do is get an E46 M3, fully upgrade it, get the Works conversion kit, and then you just replicate the livery. There is a preset livery in Shift 1 tho that looks vaguely like it, but it’s still not close.

My honest theory is that nfs heat is the origin of the m3 gtr and not rockport. The player character in 05 is not an established character (eventhough people like to say its Ryan Cooper...its not)...I believe the character in 05 and carbon is your character in heat. (Ik the cutscenes show a white guy as the player but still, the characters identity remains unknown)...So you leave carbon and begin your story in underground, then underground 2...then before you go to rockport, you go to palm city, where you get the car as a thank you for ridding the city of corrupt cops. THEN you go to rockport...Everything that happened in rockport with you and the car has made such a massive impact on street racing as a whole in need for speed that you gained a massive following of fans who went and built replicas (hence why 2012, 2015, undercover, and payback has a false m3 gtr to use)....Either way, the car was totaled off in carbon and was gone....then the protagonist may have moved to lakeshore, and had the car shipped over under the radar, for the protagonist in unbound to deliver.

Underground series have a different protagonist, it's not the same person in MW and Carbon

I believe the guy who requested the M3 GTR from Unbound is actually the Player from Most wanted/Carbon, he’s still #1 on the blacklist and we don’t even have any evidence that Razor got released from prison
in unbound there is another dialogue after picking up the m3 gtr. Yaz says: "this guy just got out of jail and the first thing he did was order this car" (might not be the exact words but its very similar to what she said)
You actually missed an appearance. In prostreet at one of the organizations (I think it's G-effect) there is an AI M3 E46 that is done up to resemble the M3 GTR. There is one major change however, all the blue on the car is changed to a dark grey.

Actually the in the NFS MW there is a race in which it says that the driver comes from Underground not carbon

After the shitshow that where the Ghost Games NFS, and Unbound being quite ok tbh, it's time to see that glorious bastard with his high pitched GTR in action I know the M3 got wrecked in the beginning of Carbon, put there's no shot this was the end. Let the next game have the story of the MW protagonist trying to get his car back, or hell, bring Razor back who's also looking for this beauty, just do something at this point. my head canon for the m3 thats in 2015 is that the player or maybe amy were a fan or heard the legend of the m3 and tried to replicate it of course unsuccesfully which might explain that random decals
bro missed the hood/bonnet inaccuracy in Ghost NFS's + Unbound -that is aftermarket made to resemble GTR vents, but not exact sized
Underground, most wanted and carbon are all sequels. The player is from underground as they’re a quote in the introduction saying “look what the underground let loose”.
That isn't much evidence at all, and I don't count them as sequels.
I just got nfs unbound, I went to my local game store with my dad, bought the game because I thought it looked cool and I’ve heard good things about nfs unbound. The game is still in its case and sitting upstairs on my desk. I’m gonna play it for the first time in a few hours, I hope it’s good.

There's no telling how the player got the paperwork & documents (pinkslip) of the bmw m3 gtr. as there is no way he can buy one legally as it's not road legal and it is not possible to buy a stock m3 and put the parts on it because such parts are not available to the public, there's two ways the player could've gotten it: he must've been racing legally for some time or somehow snuck into a legal race and when he got behind the wheel of an m3 gtr he somehow bailed the race and escaped the track then applied his own livery to it. or he could've found an abandoned m3 gtr and repaired it with the sponsorship money from nfsug2
what about edis gtr like we know that it is in both nfs heat and payback maybe even in unbound idk i dident play it cuz im waiting for the next nfs so i can get it for 5 bucks
There was a part of need for speed payback the cross said he was going back to Rockport to me when I first heard that I was thinking is the story going back there and now there's been updates that we might are so to me we will get a need for speed most wanted 2 but I don't know if the bmw will be there
also as seen on the interior shots of the the m3 in most wanted it infact does not have a full race interior when you first meet cross you see the drivers side door panel which is just a road version m3 there is also a road version m3 gtr which im pretty sure is the base of the m3 gtr we get to see but that player just engine swapped it and modified to give it the look of the le man car but is actually just the road version of the gtr
I think NFS 2015 did the same sort of thing with the Mustang Hoonicorn as it’s not completely accurate either. It has a different set of rims, it has chrome trim pieces where it shouldn’t, and more

I know im late to the party but can we really believe that in NFS Heat we are just...gifted a highly notorious car after it's been wrecked again and possibly involved in a possibility blue on blue..."incident". I find that very hard to believe. I think it's more possible it was taken to a police impound, locked up till bought and restored where we... somehow steal it in Unbound. There's also the EA rewards M3 GTR in online but I don't think that should be included. Replica maybe? But not included.

I count No Limit's well... limited event as canon, it has some kind of story that can be tied to the one from the original Most Wanted and Carbon in some way

The reason the M3 GTR sounds odd in 05 Most Wanted is cause it has straight cut gears which makes it more throaty/ angry sounding

MW-Carbon character got happy ending at the end of carbon, and might be moved on from M3 GTR, he have palmont city under his control and an Audi concept car from darius lol, Razor as protoganist trying to get the car back while getting bounty hunted by cross might be more interesting, since both character already referenced in the last need for speed game

That was an M3 E92. Not an E46.
Even Roblox on the playstation has a picture when you hover over the game icon and in the bottom right you can see the same NFS BMW all blurred out. And my kids will never notice this.

I didn't like Carbon. After playing MW, Carbon felt like an empty paper.
4:30 a car is only totaled, if the owner says it is, the player spent god knows how long earning that car back, only for the game to go “yeah it’s broke now” BULL. He would’ve gotten it fixed. If they said that and made it unavailable until the mid to late game, that would’ve been cool.
In nfs carbon you can hear over the police scanner that razor gets pulled over by the cops i dont believe he of all people got the gtr back
You need to remember that Carbon takes place in 2006. Plenty of time for things to change.
Ssn't the M3 GTR originally Darius' car? Doesn't he say "take my car, go, get out of here" at the cutscene before the player leaves Palmont City to Rockport City?
Darius's car is the Supra. He throws the player the keys for it just before the race.
Coming up with a storyline for the M3GTR after Carbon is so confusing and pretty stretching if you ask me. Dont get me wrong, id love to see what happened to the car but EA doesn't want to put it the work instead go "OoOO LoOk ReFrEnCE! EaStEr EgGs!"
