Its end of the year.. New NFS is out for a month now and I decided to update one of my older videos. M3 GTR, as you already know, is most famous NFS car. In this video I included modded games such as Unite for 2015, Payback and Heat. What do you think which game sounds best?

The M3 sound in Most Wanted and Carbon is some of the best sound design in a game I've ever seen, and it just became progressively worse; they just gave up in Unbound. Gameplay, story and sound design just doesn't match up to what NFS used to be.

@@them.o.g6734 Eh, but also the new games aren't as bad as people tend to say. Also the older ones still have some bad aspects that most people skipped them. Like for instance the Black Box rubberbanding but mostly in NFS UG1 when it was extreme.
@@HeroManNick132 That's true. Both new and old games have ups and downs to them. People didn't really like 3D Zelda games until BOTW and Wind Waker released. And Spider Man web swinging games were awful in the older games where the new ones do it almost perfectly. To me it just feels like the NFS games don't fully add up to what they used to be overall. It's just an opinion, I know a lot of people enjoy Unbound, just not me.

NFS MW 2012 was probably the last time they got the model itself correct. It still baffles me that they got their own hero car wrong so many times

The solid and best of this BMW M3 GTR is the gearbox straight cut gear. That gear has create a noise which sounds like a whine and it screams like insane. As you shift to high gear, it will become louder and nearly make my ear drum burst LOL. That is the reason why I like this vehicle.

Damn, I'm glad somebody actually remembers Most Wanted 5-1-0. Lotta my childhood was spent playing that game, and it was beautiful That said, Carbon absolutely sounds the best since you can really hear the transmission whine and it's just perfect

In Need For Speed Pro Street there was an M3 GTR bodykit. If I'm not mistaken too, the M3 E46 from that game in stage 4 in that game's engine, had the same sound as the M3 GTR
I don't get it why he put NFS 2015/Payback when it's literally the same story as NFS PS - Regular E46 with GTR bodykit.
It's not the same engine, ProStreet still has the inline 6 from the M3, its the straight cut gears that you hear
@@gunman8452 So the same can be said for NFS 2015 or Payback. Even NFS MW 2012, Edge used I6 sound for the M3 GTR. The weirdest thing about NFS World is the M3 GTR street version is using I6 version.
Undercover also had both the GTR bodykit and the MW wrap readily available. And the stage 3 transmission had the straight cut gears sound too. Still an I6 tho

It's funny how the BMW m3 grt really does sound like it does in nfs mw and carbon. I remember a few years ago I was watching the Nascar sports cars series that when first herd that sound in real life that s**t was epic 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

@@HeroManNick132 well, they used v6 nissan sounds for 2jz, brera, rb26 and borrow it for eclipse gt, golf r32 as engine sound(while they have correct exhaust sounds)
@@michazmuda1477 I noticed that some sounds Criterion used from Codemasters like the Skyline sound or the new Evo 9 sound which is a Fiesta sound from Dirt 4. Black Box used to borrow some Criterion sounds (mostly for NFS TR) but now Criterion borrows from Codemasters.

@@HeroManNick132 Yep. 6 road legal BMW M3 E46 GTR and 4 racecar versions were built in the special vehicles department of BMW's Regensburg Plant. - 4 were racecars (2 for BMW Motorsport or Team Schnitzer, 2 for BMW Prototype Technology Group) - 3 were sold to the public - 3 are development prototypes - 1 of 4 racecars is at the BMW museum Normally, it should be 10 Road legal versions and 4 racecars but BMW stopped to make the road versions at 6 and only 3 were sold to the public since they kept the 3 others as development prototypes. Which means if they didn't stop to make the street legal BMW M3 E46 GTR, 14 of them would have been built already or more but it never happened anyway. The reason why BMW stopped to build more road versions of the BMW M3 E46 GTR is due to a change of rules for the 2002 ALMS Championship. BMW were meant to build 100 street legal BMW M3 E46 GTR and 1000 P60B40 V8 engines but they scrapped the street legal program because it was too expensive.
It should be pointed out though that the M3 GTR originally never appeared in Need For Speed World. It was only added in after the community revived the game. EDIT: It actually was in Need For Speed World. I just have never seen it.

The fact they keep bringing back the M3 in future games just goes to show that NFS can't stand on its own feet. Blackbox Era, hell even Undercover, is better than most Criterion/Ghost Games NFS. Hot Pursuit 2010, Rivals, and Heat are the only ones that did well.

i don't think no matter how many different games i play and drive this car... the most wanted one remains the best!
Heat and MW 2012 had the best sounding M3 for sure, because of the metallic tips for Heat and the sound system for MW. Unbound really has fallen behind in some aspects imo. the Charger, Silvia and Countach all sounded better in Heat
Most of these sounds that you mentioned are the same as NFS Heat just the sound processing is different. The Silvia S15 sound has been the same since NFS 2015 and the 1969 Charger uses the same sound sound from the Black Box era a.k.a. from NFS Carbon with some changes.
Unbound M3 is same as was in Heat.

I'd say the top 3 in terms of sound design are > Most Wanted(2012) > Carbon > and Most Wanted again(2005)

After watching this video i just realized that mw 2012 could have added the street spec m3 gtr with the inline 6 and the m3 gtr (track edition) that we all know with the engine from the og mw and carbon.
The funny thing is the one that sounds the most realistic to the actual BMW M3 GTR would probably be the one from Need for speed Unbound

there's so many BMW M3s in the NFS universe. But the BMW M3 GTR GT E46 *always* been everyone's favorite. EDIT: and also the V8 4.0L P60B40 engine and straight-cut gears.

There's a special car in nfsmw called speedtest which is bmw m3 but it's carbon fiber and sound like ford mustang by default, fun fact that this car is having faster speed compared to razor's version of m3 gtr and better handling too.

It's weird that despite being a race car, the M3 has not appeared in ProStreet, Shift and Shift 2 Unleashed (with the exception of mods) despite these games having a setting that would fit the M3 race car perfectly.
Are you implying that this car is originally present in other games besides MW and Carbon?
@@komododragon410 Yes. In fact TheBoss has a separate video detailing all racing games (including NfS) that have an E46 M3 GTR (both race car and road car) in them, and some of those games predate Most Wanted.
Most wanted and carbon editions(I guess there used same sound) have turbo whistle which is no in other parts
