  • Impressive pick up! So many thinks to like Sharks. Just a shame that the cyclone is upside down so dirt needs to be pushed up resulting even worse separation. Pre motor filter has also too small surface area so it needs to be cleaned often. My Electrolux SilentPerformer Cyclonic canister have similar cyclone, but it's in horizontal position. That way dirt goes straight to the bin without depris staying bottom of the cyclone. Also pre motor surface area is very big. Sadly it also dirty the filter fairly quickly. Thanks for great video!

    • I think a cyclone similar to a dyson cyclone even if it’s just two would’ve helped this vacuum pick up better without clogging but then again vacuums aren’t designed to pick up huge loads of debris at once.

  • What a shame this shark ended up getting fine dust in the motor! Least I know to avoid this vacuum it looked like it vacuumed well but it’s clear that for the price it will wear down pretty quickly as it’s designed failed

  • I love my Shark, but it drives me nuts how dusty it gets on the outside! I thought I had a seal problem with mine after the first time I used it, but then finding out they're almost all like that was disappointing :(

  • Bring back the bag. I have multi cyclone vax and yes it’s good but maybe every couple of bin empty it requires filter cleaning. They do require a lot cleaning unlike bagged just replace and go again. Goes to show why Henry, sebo and Miele last a long time. Henry will seemingly take abuse and carry on going in some harsh uses.

  • Oh dear, I have just bought a Shrk Stratos, but it is a different shape. Slim, with a much smaller dust cup up at the top of the handle. The top part detaches to make a hand held unit for doing the stairs. I really like it, but if you know this model, can you tell me if the motor will get bits in it too? Many thanks.

    @travellinglady9484@travellinglady9484 Жыл бұрын
    • The cyclone is one thing which let all the dust go to the filter, however if you regularly wash the filters before they go really dirty then you should be fine - the other thing is that the filters have no seals around them, so the dust can make their way past the sides of the filter and into the motor

  • I was dead set on getting a stratos and was just about to purchase one right now ( good deal only £247 woth discount and cashback) untill i seen your 2 videos on them! Would you recommend against getting one? And if so ehat would you recommend instead for similar money? Dyson ball animal 3??

    @shaneyg1988@shaneyg1988 Жыл бұрын
    • The ball Animal 3 is an excellent machine - very powerful, has a longer hose, filters stay cleaner for longer than a shark,bin emptying release is at the top of the handle, the brushbar can be switched off unlike the shark which continues spinning (but just slows down), has stiffer bristles for deep cleaning and the brush can also be removed for cleaning unlike the Stratos. There’s also suction control on the cleanerhead so you can choose if you want maximum suction seal on your carpets or have the large debris channels open for hard floors and carpets

      @parwaz7861@parwaz7861 Жыл бұрын
    • @@parwaz7861 thanks for the fast reply! The dyson sounds good, is that the machine you'd recommend around the £300 price point or is there an even better option?

    • @@shaneyg1988 I quite like Sebos- they’re high quality vacuums (they use dustbags for optimal dust retention and hygienic emptying and one bag lasts absolutely ages because the dirt gets compressed in them) The sebo felix is fantastic at deep cleaning, has brush control and variable speed The x7 doesn’t have these features but it’s a solid upright. It has an on board wand whereas the felix doesn’t and works better on thicker carpets (works on all types of carpets I believe) It has a bag full or clog indicator, tells you when there’s something stuck in the brush, automatic height adjustment compared to manual on the felix, lays flat to the floor to vacuum under beds and has better suction than the dyson The ball animal 3 isn’t available in the UK, instead there’s the ball animal which is less powerful but still a decent vacuum

      @parwaz7861@parwaz7861 Жыл бұрын
    • @@parwaz7861 oh OK so the ball animal on the dyson site that says latest tech isn't actually the the latest tech?

      @shaneyg1988@shaneyg1988 Жыл бұрын
    • @@shaneyg1988 it’s the latest upright but the technology in their cordlesses are more advanced because they stopped develop corded vacuums

  • This is a good vacuum but the vertex is better. (Based on this mess test)

    @charlesrodriguez7984@charlesrodriguez7984 Жыл бұрын
  • Just for some notice, sharks are not overrated, you need to leave the vacuum on to make them get the hair tangles off, lastly make sure you don’t give the stratos big debris because the motor can break

    @TommyCattherunsome@TommyCattherunsome Жыл бұрын
    • The anti hair wrap isn’t perfectly unfortunately, I’ve seen loads of them where the brushbars are still tangled up despite being used Whilst I agree that the filters get dirty quickly due to large messes, even in normal vacuuming when there’s finer dust from carpets the filters still get dusty after one use sadly They need frequent filter washing especially since the filters have no seals around them, so any dust can make it’s way through the sides of the filters and into the motor

      @parwaz7861@parwaz7861 Жыл бұрын
    • @@parwaz7861 that’s true with most shark vacuums. Fortunately they don’t lose suction that fast In my experience only when clogging the metal shroud with debris does it lose suction. However filter maintenance is key with any bagLess vacuum as it replaces the bag which was the main filter for the vacuum.

      @charlesrodriguez7984@charlesrodriguez7984 Жыл бұрын
  • but what if instead of vacuuming you just walked all over the cereal?

    @battokizu@battokizu5 ай бұрын
  • For the price point of shark cleaners they’re not worth the price, Really poor dust retention and really poor dust separating, if they were £80-£110 then you’d accept it more, but when a Vax air multi cyclone can do a better job for around £130 or for the money of the shark go Dyson.

    • I’ll have to do a video explaining the shark stratos in more detail But as you can see, the mess made its way into the motor and leaked out where it should be contained

      @parwaz7861@parwaz7861 Жыл бұрын
    • @Parwaz786 Okay, I see your point, but that was an unrealistic amount of dirt you made that thing pick up. And you did it multiple times. So yeah, maybe some of the cereal got into the motor, but it's not like that affected the Shark in any way. It still looked and sounded like it didn't lose any suction power. It probably just needs a little cleaning itself. But I still wouldn't call Shark vacuums terrible, let alone the Stratos.

      @rudexbruiser2604@rudexbruiser2604 Жыл бұрын
    • @@rudexbruiser2604 I had to edit out all the times it lost suction apart from the very end to make a summary - if the filter clogs with cereal dust imagine how much it will clog up with real household dust and dirt which is much finer, these filters get dirt on them within one use and will definitely be full of dirt within a few uses unfortunately This is due to the single cyclone system, 2 cyclones are needed at bare minimum to efficiently capture the dust from the airflow

      @parwaz7861@parwaz7861 Жыл бұрын
    • @@rudexbruiser2604 i agree. Most of the time these do fine for normal amounts of dirt. Huge Mess tests are not a good way to measure vacuum performance. Realistic dirt tests are more accurate.

      @charlesrodriguez7984@charlesrodriguez7984 Жыл бұрын
    • Do you think with a more realistic hopefully a bit less cereal situation and cleaning the filters each use it will be ok to use? If not, what is your favourite upright vacuum you've tested so far and why?
