  • 1 thing to do in the future is to show us how the pre filter looks after the job's done to show how well the cyclones work with seperating dirt

  • First of all this is absolutely delicious ❤❤❤❤. But.. I have the exact same vac. If i would vacuum this mess it would be clogged in no time. I love the Dyson. But the tube inside is soo small, it just doesn't have enough space for any mess test. Did it get clogged at all (sorry, i do realise this is an old video you might not remember!)

    • Thank you!!! 😁 yes the internal diameter is quite small sadly, so I make sure that what I’m vacuuming up is smaller than the grey end of the wand, if it fits through that then it should be fine 👍🏽

  • Brilliant design from the Dyson. I like how the cyclones work, cleaning head is excellent and ball makes the center of the gravity low= easy for the hand. My only gripe is that these EU versions really should have bigger motors to overcome resistance of cyclones.

    • They should have a motor like what you would find in the US version of the dyson ball animal. That motor provides over 100 cfm disconnected from the main body of the vacuum.

  • Shark Stratos did a much better job without the need for multiple passes. Even with the Stratos single-cyclone-bin problems, I would still pick the Stratos over this Dyson.

    • This carpet in particular is thicker than the carpets I used the Stratos on and has a non breathable backing making it more difficult for vacuums to perform on compared to carpets with a porous backing, I think the Dyson did quite well!

  • Can you help me? Is it normal for the DC40 wheels to feel different than one of these when reclining? It feels like your newer model has a softener mechanism and it a easier to recline and put upright! Or do they change as they get older?

    • I’m not sure what you mean regarding the wheels but these newer ones have a more simple upright locking mechanism where the vacuum locks upright instantly without any misleading click
