It's a moment that you'll never forget, she's just like a goddess, she sings like a goddess. She captures all the attention and her presence floods the whole place. Billie's version: you are about to leave school/work, you had a stressfull day, and then you hear someone playing the piano and singing behind a door, when you open it sightly, you can see a girl singing a beautiful song, her soft voice makes your worries go away, she doesn't notice you, she's singing to herself but it reaches to your heart. She captures your attention and her presence floods the whole room. Both versions are awesome ♡

Billie’s version and Miley’s version sound like two sides of the same coin, one just starting her journey and the other using the wisdom she’s gained from walking through fire. It’s very reminiscent of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” and how she originally sang it as an idealistic young woman in 1968 and re-recorded it in 2000 after experiencing life. It took on a whole different meaning with experience behind it.

Over a year later, I still love this cover; such a good take on an already fantastic song. I have to admit I originally wrote Miley off due to my generation of timing growing up on first impressions of Hanna days, but once she broke away from Disney and did her own thing, which I still think was the best move I became a pretty continuous fan of her work, thank you for this Miley it truly is a gem.

Billie’s version is more jazzy, thats the way the lyrics flow,they are supposed to sound jazzy. Miley did great with this cover but it isn’t better than the original, cuz miley’s voice has a raspiness jazz singers don’t have or use in their songs. This is why it’s not better sounding than the original since she is actually mimicking the exact runs but in a more aggressive way.

Well even in her hannah montana days she's always had a mellow deep low voice but of course when she was like first season hannah montana, she did speak with a brighter tone. But age, weed and smoking back then definitely gave her a more raspier, husky tone. Plus the surgery, but this tone works for her. It's awesome to see, she's growing as the true artist she is.

Proof of how the tone of the voice and the intention in it can totally shift the meaning of a song, Billie’s sounds like a love song for what’s is to come with a bright eye and a hopeful heart while Miley’s sounds like a farewell to all those things that are too heavy or too old to carry forward if we want to grow and evolve, both of them filled with so much emotion but very different ones

Billie's version: you are about to leave school/work, you had a stressfull day, and then you hear someone playing the piano and singing behind a door, when you open it sightly, you can see a girl singing a beautiful song, her soft voice makes your worries go away, she doesn't notice you, she's singing to herself but it reaches to your heart. Billie’s version and Miley’s version sound like two sides of the same coin, one just starting her journey and the other using the wisdom she’s gained from walking through fire. It’s very reminiscent of Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now” and how she originally sang it as an idealistic young woman in 1968 and re-recorded it in 2000 after experiencing life. It took on a whole different meaning with experience behind it.

Over a year later, I still love this cover; such a good take on an already fantastic song. I have to admit I originally wrote Miley off due to my generation of timing growing up on first impressions of Hanna days, but once she broke away from Disney and did her own thing, which I still think was the best move I became a pretty continuous fan of her work, thank you for this Miley it truly is a gem.
She has a different voice. Her voice has improved with maturity.
She was on a podcast with Joe Rogan. She discusses her voice change and it is really astonishing the way she puts it. A lot of it has to do with the surgery she had in November.

Billie’s version is more jazzy, thats the way the lyrics flow,they are supposed to sound jazzy. Miley did great with this cover but it isn’t better than the original, cuz miley’s voice has a raspiness jazz singers don’t have or use in their songs. This is why it’s not better sounding than the original since she is actually mimicking the exact runs but in a more aggressive way.

Well even in her hannah montana days she's always had a mellow deep low voice but of course when she was like first season hannah montana, she did speak with a brighter tone. But age, weed and smoking back then definitely gave her a more raspier, husky tone. Plus the surgery, but this tone works for her. It's awesome to see, she's growing as the true artist she is.
