He is definitely smaller than those guys. He is in like a half way point between 185 and 205. 185 is little light for him but 205 is way too big for him. • He isn't wrong Khamzat has said multiple times that he didn't want to fight Costa. Which is why it took the UFC almost a year to get him to sign it. UFC'S M.D pulled Costa out of the fight because he had two emergency surgeries and nearly lost his arm. I would say that Costa is right given the fact that Khamzat refused to resign the contract and UFC had to book Rob vs Costa

      @jayn6943@jayn69432 ай бұрын
    • @jayn6943 neither Costa nor Khamzat are scared to fight each other. Both signed the dotted line and Costa had to pull out due to injury. But knowing that, it's just so stupid for Costa to try to claim that Khamzat ducked him, even for trolling purposes it makes zero sense. Khamzat can at least troll Costa that Costa was scared and cite that it was he who pulled out, but this is Costa claiming Khamzat was scared and blind fanboys like you are eating it up 🙄

Not to mention yoel looked less gassed in the 3rd than Costa so in a 5 rounder who knows if Costa would have even won that fight, dude needs to get a win at the top, losing to Marvin is a great look as Marvin is very much mid tier middleweight, mostly had success just due to his granite chin not giving up on him (Marvin)

  • Costa has the skills, it just feels like he doesn't have the fight IQ to use his skills. He should have smoked Whittaker honestly. Whittaker has spent the years since the Adesanya fight to try to increase his intelligence in fighting. Ironically Strickland, who people think is an idiot, has pretty high fight IQ not because he sets things up, but from the way he trains. He TRAINS in a way that forces him to have high adaptibility and to have a relaxed but constant defense. Whereas Adesanyas style is very "active", it requires him to be focused for every minute because it is ALL about set ups. Costa has both size, power, technique etc. But his style of mindset and gameplans are just not good. There's no real set ups. He's just fighting at his pace, seemingly without a plan, and just testing random openings. Kind of just trying to find the timing to land a technique but that's it. He has a very superficial use of his skills unfortunately. Adding techniques is not the same as knowing how to create the openings for them and how to break down the opponents game. Jones for instance is the opposite, he has ok technique, but his fight IQ is ALL about seeing openings and vulnerabilities. While someone like Adesanya is too stuck in his "style", he is ONLY looking for the openings that his techniques can set up. But he doesn't look for ALL openings! Because he doesn't ADAPT and create new techniques or is able to target NEW vulnerabilities really.
