800 HP Marine Camshaft Swap - 14.6L Caterpillar 6NZ C-15 Diesel Engine - Peterbilt 379 EXHD

2019 ж. 15 Там.
1 854 309 Рет қаралды

Swapping out the stock 6NZ camshaft for the 10R7155 cam, better known as the 800 horsepower marine cam.
This was just an experiment to see for myself if I would find any immediately noticeable negative effects from running the 10R7155 cam with stock "57" injectors. This is an improper camshaft to injector combination, as I briefly explained in this video.
In the long run, this combination will cause accelerated internal injector wear, accelerated cam lobe and rocker arm/roller wear, and in some cases can eventually cause catastrophic gear train failure as it shakes the weights out of the cam gear due to increased harmonics coming through the cam.
The 10R7155 camshaft properly matches to a "59" injector, which is a much higher flowing injector than a "57". There is very little to be gained by running this cam with "57s", and it will only cause problems in the long run.
Do not mistake this video as me telling anybody that this cam swap alone is an upgrade or something that you should do to increase performance. That is not and never was the intent of this video.

You used to get on youtube and the videos we're truly 100% random all the time, everything in the suggested areas on the side was videos of stuff completely irrelevant from eachother, youtube content didn't follow any sort of formulas back then it was random and unpredictable all the time, now you have to go out of your way to try and find good videos and it's always trying to find what you "want to watch more of" its a fucking bullshit ass lie nobody ever wanted any of it they just think everyone wants to see the same thing all the time without even asking us

  • I have a friend who is an executive at CAT. He's a great guy, but I believe that hamstringing truckers, farmers, commercial fishermen, etc., with proprietary maintenance restrictions is what is driving many independents out of business. America was not built on those principles! It was built by guys like you, who are independents and scratch out a living by doing, learning and becoming experts at what they do. Do some independents buy black market (China) programs to help them with proprietary codes, passwords and such? Of course, but they have no choice if they want to remain profitable and independent in the first place. These codes, passwords, etc, should be part of the purchase price of the equipment and should be transferrable as well. An unforeseen consequence of this is guys keeping older equipment running for years/decades because they don't require the queertrons to fix a simple time critical maintenance issue.

    • It’s by design. Big business is pushing these things on purpose so they can take over small business.
