  • 1:21 That egg yolk would no longer be a soft egg yolk in the amount of time it takes to cook the bacon. It would be a solid/hard, probably dry, egg yolk. You can see it even in the video when it is cooking and then through "camera magic" it is back to being a soft egg yolk.

    • Honestly, given the temps and times shown, I wouldn't expect ANY of the dishes that spend time in the oven to have yolks like that. Those are very clearly swapped out, since any yolk would be fully cooked in the oven. As for the pan dishes, yeah. Just cook them a little bit longer.

    • Don't worry. That last recipe: 300 degrees at 20 minutes is going to cook that egg all the way through given that it only takes like 12 minutes to hard boil an egg (and basic chemistry knowledge would tell you that the egg is cooking at 212 degrees, because that is the temperature of boiling water) The same would go for most times/temperatures showcased in this video.

      @pkerber@pkerber2 жыл бұрын
    • @@brianthesnail3815 Of the recipes in the clip...most of those recipes have the egg 'sunny side up'. I do like an egg on a piece of buttered (real butter) toast...and have the yoke a little runny. However, I just can't bring myself to eat an egg that way...I want it flipped over and done at the very least, over easy...but over medium - still runny but a little 'thickened' is more to my liking. Most of those recipes look like they are meant for a 'group' to eat...and they don't take in the individual likes of people when it comes to a cooked egg. I have a sister who wants her yoke smashed in the pan and really cook. So to cook some of those recipes you would have to be sure everyone was fine with sunny side up eggs.

    • I cook my eggs based on how I plan to eat them. Over easy with grits, and some bites are mixed in with some grits, over medium with hash browns. If I’m going to make a sandwich I crack the eggs into a hot skillet with caramelized real butter. When the white sets, actually turns white, I break the yellow and spread it over the white. As the yellow sets I flip it until the yellow is cooked hard. The bottom will have some streaks of golden brown and sometimes along the edges a little crispy. Then I build the sandwich on sliced whole grain bread buttered and toasted on one side only. Mayo, if you like, on the toasted sides, then the eggs, cheese, and meat of choice. I like, ham, bacon, or Jimmy Dean sage bulk sausage. The outside of the sandwich Is just warm bread. Instead of a sandwich on bread I also build a breakfast burrito using a large sun dried tomato basil tortilla.
