I find it very satisfying to eat all four ghosts in a row after picking up a Power Pellet / Energizer in Pac-Man, so I thought it was a good idea to show how I do it in almost all of its official and non-emulated versions. It has been a very hard work, so I hope you like and share this video.

This video wouldn't have been possible without the help of my colleague Retro-Rock, who dumped the NEC PC-8001mkII version. He has a very interesting channel where he shows gameplays of rare game versions. Please help him by subscribing to his channel: / @retro-rock3067

Hi @retrosutra
@@lauraoliveira3399 hi :)
@@retrosutraThe pac-man??
Do you mean "Sutra?"

4:40 omg its a mungus!
There was 2 problems with the SFX on both of the VIC-20 versions 🙁 but the others were still normal from the original versions comparison. And another thing to hear is that I did NOT know there was an NEC-PC 8001mkll SR version! It was shocking when I noticed 🤯 By the way, it was interesting to see all the different Pac-Mans eating the ghosts.
Thank you for your comment Kirsten
the coleco tabletop one is ear burning
Yup, it's annoying
Same with pac man 2 for the snes
@@oldschoolph-on-ies1363 9:33 this one? because it doesnt sound really bad for me
Thats the one that shreds my ears to ashes
Tomy tabletop?
Great job. 👍 I agree completely that it is quite satisfying to catch all four of the little buggers in quick succession.
I remember when I first played the game, I thought it was like a boss battle, and the goal of the game was to eat all of the ghosts on one pellet
The SNES version has my favourite sound effects of the bunch. That system was definitely capable of some high-quality audio.
4:10 Pacman on Moon Patrol hardware.
i really like that video, it's kind of a redux of your pac-man versions video ! keep up the good work, pal!
For the VIC-20, Atari should've used HAL's Japanese version instead of making another one. While there's lots of ghost flicker, it's an accurate port with the right maze layout.
The maze layout doesn’t look identical to the original 1980 one

Wow really great video and every versions of the ghost being eaten looks really great thanks for the shoutout for the Nec Pc-8001MkII Version my friend 😊👍

Well, it's the same game but with different resolutions, but maybe I should have added it.
0:47 OMG! HAL Laboratory before Kirby and Smash Bros. they made games on the VIC-20, but this is a Japanese company and they created games for the computer from the west, I don’t know about the VIC-20 in Japan, but I heard that the C64 was in Japan but it sold too badly that in the same 1982 they stopped selling it!
actually i'm pretty sure the VIC-20 sold well, it's just the MSX arrived and pretty much took over the entire market in japan
7:04 The startup sounds like from SNES.
Kinda sounds like sega genesis

Where did you get the Roms for the Sharp-MZ and NEC-PC series of ports? I can't seem to find them anywhere, not even the Internet Archive. That question aside, this is a great video! Love it!
Sharp X1 sounds like an alien screaming “BOY”
Im surprised with the jerky animation on ZX. I know they cant move he colour attributes smoothy, so they should go with smooth anim and some attribute clashes instead.
0:49 That's Jelly monsters
I love Pac-Man.
7:04: Game Start
that one sharp mz 700 port is pretty strange, the sprites are literal blocks, and the zx spectrums sound is weirdly satisfying to hear, the popping sound gives me a bit of a massaging effect, could be me tho, i hear a lot that its the worst home version of pac man, but for me, i guess it works, and you can say that its better than the tabletop versions lmao
The M700 didn't have anything beyond color text modes. The PCG version is using an after market addon that added a Hercules like graphics function to a text res screen.
Yeah, the part after the ghosts being eaten was really weird! The moving eyes is really strange and a tiny bit creepy 😅 but all the other Japanese Computer versions were good. Did you even know there was a PC-8001mkll SR version?! I was shock when I saw it. Did you, Antarctic Penguin?

Some ports are quite nice, but some of the early ones, yikes (some were good, some like the Atari 2600 version I owned as a child, horrible, and some were bad). The FC/NES and MSX ports are quite similar, and pretty decent.
I can't believe I watched the whole thing. 😂 Arcade is the best
Hahaha, thanks!
10:17 never seen this version. Sounds like a pac man plug n play
Alas, no BBC Micro / Electron. The name change to Snapper probably fooled you!
The pac dots don't slowdown pacman movement on this version whatnever he eat them! 15:13

im just curious about how they got such clear footage of the tabletop versions

Tee hee, it’s pac man WONDERLAND and I’m not so happy about headphone killer land in coleco
Pacman on atari 2600 was a mistake And Pacman on Apple 2
Pac-Man on the 2600 was rushed out, said to be pretty much a prototype.
Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde dislikes this video.
Not to mention the 1000,000 ghosts from Pac-Man Championship DX!
don't forget championship edition
Not the original Pac-Man though.
Sharp x1 sound like noodle
Arcade original
The 1980 VIC-20 version is better than the 1983 VIC-20 version.
Can you do the same with Ms. Pac-Man?
Yes! I'm going to publish the video very soon.
