This video shows all the intermissions / coffee breaks / cutscenes of almost all released versions of Pac-Man / パックマン (Namco 1980), barring those that are unofficial clones, homebrews, or emulated. Obviously those versions that do not have intermissions, such as VIC20, Commodore 64, Atari 2600, etc. have not been added.
The making of this video has been sheer madness, and it has taken me about two weeks of full-time work. Of course, all of the footage you'll see here has been captured by me. That implies that I have played all these versions and that I have had to complete many levels of each one of them. Hopefully all versions will play the same way, but unfortunately the Arcade version's patterns don't work for most conversions / ports, even those that claim to have the "original" difficulty level. The consequence of this is that I had to develop dozens of new patterns for those games, further prolonging my agony.
Anyway, I'm very proud of this video because I don't think anyone has ever done such a crazy thing. Also, here you will find scenes that no one else has captured. Please, if you have not already done so, subscribe to the channel and share the video with everyone.

Sharp MZ- 700: My grafics suck but i have better intermissions Sharp MZ 1500: Yea im the best intermissions
ZX Spectrum: Mine’s just the Same as the 1st Intermission…
I love how in certain versions the cast comes out and dances for you
I've never been good enough to see Intermission 2 and 3 and am just a little befuddled by the fact that apparently the ghosts are weird pink blobs wearing sheets.
Honestly, same here.
i saw intermission 2
Wow - nice work putting together all these different versions! It’s interesting to see all the subtle differences, mainly based on the limitations of the hardware. I was impressed with the MSX sound, and I like the version of the ghost dragging it’s costume where you can see the blue tears, but now I’ve forgotten which system that was :)
Speaking of hardware limits the Famicom/NES versions had the ghost eyes be a different sprite object than the ghost bodies. It couldn't be done otherwise due to palette limits
THIS IS SO SUS 10:02
I remember getting the Atari 5200 version and just being in awe of how close it was to the arcade version. Loved that system (I know so many hated the controller, but I LOVED it!). Ahh, the memories!
I'm not surprised that the MZ-700 had to change the intermission. What I _am_ surprised about is that it had _five_ to make up for it. The NEC PC-8801mkII (and the IISR by comparison) had some pretty creative ones too. Too bad the 8801 also had the last non-vanilla intermissions.
I like the original thinking of the NEC - 8001 / PC88 versions.

12:16 The NEC PC-8801mkllSR one was my favorite! The intermissions are really creative!
12:23
I kinda like the intermissions that breaks away from being a complete remake.
i like that in cutscenes 2 and 3 on the game boy advance, the music stops when blinky gets exposed, as if it wasn't supposed to happen also the main menu music in the ios version of pac-man is so fun to listen to
The secret behind Blinky is so weird...
True…WAIT HE IS SO STRANGE,LMFAOOOO
It appears that the Sharp MZ-700 and the MZ-1500 both have the most intermission screens! I love how all the ghosts in the last coffee break scene have turned big and when Pac-Man turned normal again. That was amazing! And as for the last intermission on the PC-8801mkIISR, I was expecting the same thing would happen like in the Original Arcade in Cutscene 2, but Pac-Man rolled out instead! 😂 But OH MY GOD! What happened to Blinky and his sheet in the PC-98 Version?! It looks so cursed! 🤣 Either way, nice video!
Since I'm very good at Pac man, I see these intermission a LOT. Great video. (Btw my high score is 97000)
Fun fact, in the basic fun Pac man portable version, when paused, the coffee break music plays.

The amount of time and dedication that must have went into this is unreal. At this point, you might as well do a livestream where you play through every version of Pac-Man and see how far you can get in each. (It might take more than one stream though, lmao.)
Pac man, the movie
when i was younger i liked the intermissions if i could reach even the first on my pac man plug and play

New subscriber! I love pacman videos! Can you do pac attack or something?
Thanks! I already made a Pac Attack video: kzhead.info/sun/m5VvlbiCg6iXn6c/bejne.htmlsi=dUKh3igoSvcPTjZk
3:36 Just by watching this, it seems the Sharp X1 couldn't do sound and animation at the same time. Or at least this game didn't since the music pauses when the ghosts move their eyes
3:33
I just noticed the gba namco museum 50th anniversary version of the pac man intermission theme sounds just like the one in the android version of pac man
3:10 Is it me or is the ghosts are scarer on the intellivision... although Apple 2 looks tougher.
9:41 AW SNAP THE MSX.
i noticed on the J2ME version that the score was increasing for each intermission, which makes me wonder how difficult is it for you to get footage for some of these things? do you use external sources like a TAS to find some of these?
Yes, but in the case of J2ME I had to play it without any help, since the emulator does not allow savestates nor does it have TAS functionality. The same happened in Google Doodle or the Windows versions. It was very painful lol.
J2me is cool but the audio is literal trash
Dear retrosutra I hope you are well doing good on your work

I bet if you made another Pac Man video but, I founded some clones that looks like Pac Man game.
The music, however, in some ports... ...were drunk, recently...
I’ve always wondered why they had Pac-Man get big when you can’t do it in the game
❤ pac man
Viste el juego Pac-Man
Do you use patterns when playing? Or do you improvize?
yes, I know the Arcade ones well, but I had to find new ones for most of the versions.
What kind of patterns? Because I use ones in a book called mastering Pac man by ken. No one seems to use them though
@@ElliottYourmom-cu3vq I use the ones that you can find in classicgaming.cc.
as pacman, i can confirm this is canon
Can you do Galaxian version comparison, or have you done that already?
Yes, I would like to do it one day. I hope soon.
In Sharp X1, Clyde is replaced with Funky. Why?
3:29 what are the possible lyrics?
ATARI SOFT de ColecoVision de 8bit es la mejor versión según su año.
11:14 Sounds like the NEC PC-6001mkII couldn't handle the Neutron style
The skits were pretty creative though. The double-take on the little Pacman, the Pacman sun/moon, and Pacman tripping on the nail rather than the ghost. Good stuff.
The Nec Pc-8801 actually has an intermission scene

Atari 5200 version 1:13 but he tripped and ripped
Not "missing" (because it''s not technically Pac-Man), but something you might find interesting since you were crazy enough to do this: there's also an intermission in the handheld Pac-Man clone Packri Monster (aka Pack Monster and Ogre Eater), which tries to emulate the first intermission of the arcade Pac-Man as best it can: kzhead.info/sun/jc-vYJeXbphmqJ8/bejne.html

If Atari made Pac Man for Colecovision and Inelevidion. What was that Atari placed on its 2600 system. Not even close that's what Pac Man was on the Atari 2600.

I like the arcade version
The depiction of Blinkey without his sheet reveals the ghost's true identity... they are made of chewed bubble gum. Enchanted chewed bubble gum. Don't believe me? Consider Pacman 2 the New Adventure and Pac in Time, where the ghosts are shown to be working under the Ghost Witch, who's main objective is the creation of a Gum Monster. Clearly the ghosts are her earlier forms of the same creature, their sheets are actually wrappers, and finally we know why Pac-Man's mouth is always opening and shutting... he's chewing all that gum!
Lies!! I never seen the gum monster in Pac-Man 2 the next adventure and pac in time. They are ghosts, not gum.
@@jonathanabela6098 It doesn't appear until the end of those games. Do a Google search, you'll find it. Double Bubble!
@@jonathanabela6098 The Gum Monster doesn't appear until the very end of each game. Do a quick Google search, you'll find it easily. That doesn't mean they're not still ghosts, when Pacman eats one their eyes fly away, showing there is definitely something spiritual at play. I think the gum just gives them physical form, the ability to hurt Pacman. Double Bubble, toil and trouble!, as the Ghost Witch would probably say.
But Where is trs-80

q paasaaaaaaaa crack.
