It definitely would be great but then they couldn't relax at all. Not worth it maybe. Keep it simple. That's what I think we love about it. I know there is a lot of work behind this channel and all but I would feel bad if you changed your lovely lifestyle for one more TV show on the market.

Good day, dear friends! I enjoyed this video because our daughter who lives in Liverpool, took my husband and I to visit Chester three years ago. A beautiful historical city! Next year is our golden wedding anniversary so we will celebrate with our family here in Alberta Canada!

You might already know this?: The term 'gee-gees', a term for horses and horse racing is traced to Chester. The first recorded race was held there on February 9th 1539, during the reign of Henry VIII, with the consent of the Mayor of Chester, Henry Gee. His name led to the term gee-gees, which we still use today. Salad looked lovely x

I❤ the video. I love Chester. Lots of Tudor and medieval age buildings, with modern shops in them. That is so wonderful, people in England love there history, and don't tear down a building, because it's really old, but repurpose them. I could so see myself relaxing on a bench in the church courtyard.

Have a wonderful time with family and friends and thank you so much for sharing glimpses of Chester...your videos give your viewers a chance to ecpand their horizons, to see wonderful places many never heard about before you both shared a visit there! It is like being an explorer and you put a personal touch and "a gentle bit of cozy" into everyday life with the recipes, the lovely china and your personal touches of home. Cant wait to see if you bring back little teacups or other beautiful mementos of Germany. (Instead of t-shirts from vacations, I go to thrift and antique stores...and local garage sales whenever I am on vacation and find amazing teacups and teapots, hand embroidered pillowcases, antique lace tableclothes, beautiful serving dishes or candlesticks...and all cost less than the pricy souvenir shirts or trinkets! ) I sit on my back porch, enjoying using my little treasures and wonder how many stories and secrets were shared during tea and if the little linen tablecloth with bluebirds hand embroidered on it was only shared on special occassions of celebrations of good news or did two old friends sit there many times thru their years of friendship, sharing good and bad times together, with the little lovely tablecloth bringing comfort and hope of better endings ahead. Hope you find happiness and little treasues along the way in your journeys!
Chester looks so beautiful. I will put it on our list of must-sees! I adore that watermelon salad. It’s one of my summer go-to salad recipes. I use lime instead of lemon but both work great and you’re right, the mint gives it that extra punch. I’m bbq-ing a whole salmon tonight and think that this would be perfect to go with it. 🙏🏽 ❤️
Yes, it's a beautiful city! Oh yes, lime would actually be even better but we had so many lemons at home that we wanted to use them hahah. Without the mint, it wouldn't be the same. Yummy, hope you enjoyed your salmon.

I love Chester too. In fall of 2019 I was in a pub watching football which was below the street level. They experienced flooding and in the pub, water was coming up through the pavers/flagstone. I'll never forget it.

Here it is hot, too. But a wet towel in the neck, sweeten peppermint tea from fresh leaves and light dishes can help a lot.

My husband was born in Middleton and he still has family there in the Chester and North Wales area. The last time we visited it was in over 30 degrees C. There were no fans to be found in the stores. You renewed my memories of visiting Chester although the streets were more crowded at that time. You have really lifted my spirit today. Thank you so much! God bless you and keep you safe.

Feta cheese of course is Greek. It's a delicious refreshing salad🍉, mint good in all summer salads, bean salads whatever! My grandparents lived in Chester and whenever we visited from the south of England as a young girl, grandad always took us around the great Roman city walls and then onto the river Dee to feed the swans🦢 Enjoy seeing your family again 👫and would love to see where you grew up🏞️

I went to Germany on a school trip back in about 1977, stayed in a hotel just outside Traben-Trarbach, I absolutely adored my time in Germany, I was 15 at the time (omg 40 yrs ago lol). Hello from Australia again. We had a very hot spell last year. One day it got to 45.7 Celsius. I guess you would have needed aircon then 🤣🤣😂😂. I had all the dogs inside in the aircon. We also had water sprays going for all our birds and the local wild birds came in too. Our covered verandah was full of king parrots, honey eaters , butcher birds and lorikeets. They would never have shared space before. The extreme heat did it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi! Hahah yes though I have to say, I lived in Egypt and we hardly ever used the aircon there and always preferred a fan (and kept the house dark). Oh yes most definitely, despise the extreme heat it must have been nice to see all the birds together.
Can't wait for your Germany trip! We are taking our grandson to Germany as a graduation gift. This country is his choice. We will go in early 2021.
Goodness, that is indeed very warm for you there in England! We are having a terrible heatwave here in the SF Bay Area, too - 110 F (about 43 celsius) today! The salad looked delicious i adore feta cheese. Myself and my Daughter spent many happy hours in Chester at the time we could catch the service bus from Newcastle Staffs thr route took us through all the villages in cheshire and it took two and a half hours to get there but well worth it. I bought eight different size towels from a shop in the Rows twenty five years ago and i still have them. Happy happy days and wonderfull memories of my beautifull Daughter .
Thanks so much and what lovely memories Kathleen! Wow, the towels are definitely good quality that's for sure. My Mom bought so many towels when we lived in Egypt (made from Egyptian cotton) and my parents had them for more than 30 years and they are still amazing, you wouldn't find that nowadays.
