This was a ton of fun! Neat old car with a very unique suspension.
i remember when you only had 50k subs, i knew you were gonna be awesome, you remind me of red green, and thats a compliment, you got a great personality!! love your work Derek keep it up!!
Goin to town rig.
Is this season three?
A guy's pretty stoked to see another Roadworthy Rescue on his KZhead homepage.
@@bigronsfishing2763 lol lol lol!!!!
What a stunner of a car that is. I'd love to see it in full working order. Keep it up !
Oh man, this a TOTAL doer upper...bring it back to basic stock. Would look wonderful.
Please post more videos on this car as you work on it. Definitely worth saving!!
Yeah right, you need to pay for Motortrend+ to watch the rest of the build.
The first car my grandmother ever bought was a 1937 Chevy Deluxe. She bought it used in 1948 for 185 dollars. She's told me many times that if she would've known that her grandson was going to be into old cars she would've kept it and gave it to me when I turned 18.
Watching this car driving down the road is amazing
That would be.
Entertaining but the MT rescues feel a lot more staged then the real VGG rescues do.
go with your gut, its badly staged bs at this point.
its like CNN, aint much is real.
Bro I was just about to say the same thing lol it is and he is doing his best to be himself but u can see it’s tough
Well, it is a motortrend show lol. They probably aren’t too keen on Derek enjoying a wobble pop or five while filming😂
He makes his own rules on this show that was the first thing they hashed out in negotiating the TV deal so they will put up with what ever decides I mean to be far he is way better at this then most reality TV host
Looking forward to the ongoing result. What a beautiful saver, a true keeper of classic proportions.
Kind of amazing the water pump was on hand, the grass was cut and no "bare spot" underneath
Yep its all bullshit compared to Dereks normal content. Motortrend set up.
Obscure carburator rebuild kit available. Sure Motortrend. Derek sold out
Yes why struggle all the bloody time lol....make it a little easeyer hahaha
Obviously, you get that kind of thing ahead of time assuming it will need those things. I've seen Derek do that before on youtube. Besides someone had be working on the car recently. Maybe the parts came with the car. As for sitting on the grass. No one said he found the car there. Clearly it was in the previous owner's barn or something. Although there are some gullible people who might have thought the car was sitting there on that lawn for 30 years. But let's not act as if any of it, youtube cable streaming or whatever is actually completely real. It's the entertainment business.
@@tielemobielobscure? It’s a Rochester…
Boy oh boy you have really hit the big time since I started watching you.
Yet he's still the same Derek. One of few who have held on to their roots. Love to see it
Motortrend a step backward for him
@@andrewmeadows2596sad but true…
@@andrewmeadows2596Not from a business perspective.
Charles u must not being paying attention I guess idk what u mean by business perspective but this dude is taking care of business my man he has grown leaps and bounds
I like that you save these timeless cars. Unlike a popular shop that is fixated on cutting them up to their own liking. Thank you and appreciate your channel 😊 👍
With MT involved you can be sure every "revival" will be 100% fake. They over produce everything. It will all be staged, and really gross overall. I know I won't watch it. They are after that honey boo boo crowd.
I think that was the first time I've seen em without a hat!
I like that you placed the front where it could watch you work. Very thoughtful.
Fantastic. Love it. "85 million miles" made me laugh.
I have a much greater appreciation for Vice Grip Garage!!!
Being in Australia i always find it amazing that you can walk into a parts shop and just pick a part from a 1937 car off the shelf.Try that here and the guy would disappear while spinning in circles.
its awful doubtful he walked into the store and just got parts. using the powers of observation, this car was just parked where it is the day before, has been gone through to see what is needed, and they mail ordered the parts. MT has sort of become the auto worlds CNN, dont believe what they show you.
They made millions of these engines,so parts are around, and generally fit many different years in whatever era...but your average parts store?...nope, not in stock.. maybe we can get it?..nope..chevy stopped making even the "modern" straight six several decades ago..a 37?assuming that is even a 37 engine of course...you can likely get it but its gonna be a special order item...
This video was a sham, so it was a setup. Old cars don't sit for decades and just magically have freshly painted engines with brand new distributors. Along with new brake lines installed and bled. (that's when I turned off the video, so I don't know how much pre-planned BS was after that). Then the gas tank that's vented to the atmosphere just happens to have zero water in it and zero rust and varnish. This video was nothing more than a cash grab for watch minutes with some airtime for O'Reilly Auto Parts. MotorTrend has really went downhill since they got greedy and starting trying to milk viewers for every nickle they can get.
My father, grandfather and greatgrandfather all drove Chevrolets. Love those cars and the beautiful memories.
I had a '37 Buick Opera Coupe straight-8. You could build a Corolla with the steel from the front fenders. Torque like a dump truck.
I LOVE the cars from mid 50s and older. Keep em coming! Great cinematography btw.
MIND BLOWN! You just drove through my town! Mason, Michigan!! Welcome!
When you started rocking the ' tight" suspension i just about spewed coffee everywhere. Made my day!!!
Been watching you since beginning, just found these videos Absolutely Love Them!!
25 years standing? I've not seen an engine that clean after sitting out in the open for 2.5 decades..
You're assuming too much. Did he say it had been sitting OUTSIDE for 25 years? Or just "off the road" that long? Did he say they had not hosed it off? Clearly, someone had recently worked on the engine.
in a barn.. or it,d be a brown stain..
Yer I am sad to say these are getting a bit to commercial. Like you can't trust them enough.
Along with a vented gas tank that has no rust, or water in it. After discovering new distributor guts already set up and ready to go. And just HAPPENED to have new brake lines, bled and ready to go. I turned off the video after that, so it's untelling how much more contrived BS was on there. This video is nothing but a corporate driven cash grab from watch minutes and showcasing why O'reilly Auto Parts pays them sponsorship money with product placement.
Sticks and brakes at the same time !! Truly a good day at Vice grip garage 😂👍
Very cool stuff! I saved one of these from the crusher about 7 years ago, would love to see a follow up video of this one!
Anything with Vice Grip Garage, I'm in!
This guy is as funny as he is a Brilliant Mechanic, he can seriously fix anything, i know I have seen him do it !! lolzzz
@@brianjones4026 that's great!!! I've learned so much and dusted off some knowledge I had! Great Family Man too.
I miss a lot of things in this show. A lot of the "Derrickisms" are cut out of the MT episodes. You don't see as much and, just as in this episode, there is no satisfying ending. It just leaves you hanging like a piece of rotten fruit that worms and bees lived in but just refuses to drop until halfway through February.
@@kender1412 Yeah, you're right... just a smidge of Derrickims
This is my favorite car show on KZhead he is a great mechanic and and you can tell he is a great dad and husband and his wife is a great mom and again I love his videos
A real country experience!
It's a miracle that thing even runs, let alone drive down the highway.
They built'em to last..
I really enjoyed this one!!!
Those old cars are awesome. It’s a shame more of them didn’t survive. Love it
What a great Find!!!
It's a VGG Roadworthy Easter weekend! Lots of Easter eggs for the pickin'.
Man what a find ! Today's Gold ! 😂👍
I'd like to purchase that 37 Chevy when you finish bringing it back to life.😊
buy it now, its only nuts & bolts.. buy a welder grinder, start practicing.. not hard..
Gotta love the smell descriptions always crack me up keep it up VGG
I have Max and just now realized the full episodes are on there...wobble pops and snacks preparing to binge watch til i can't keep my peepers open.🤩
I was sneezing just watching you pull down the headliner.
Me, I was vomiting!
Love that old car buddy
Love the front end of a 37 Chevy car and truck!! Grill, bubble fenders and headlights!!!
Love the old metal brought back to life
I had a tan, stock looking 37' Chev Business coupe with a Chevy 350 and 4 speed. Fast and fun. Loved the cab and head and tail lights. Wish I still had it. I love the 30s era cars.
I have to admit I enjoy the pre 40s cars really like too see more wishing you and your beautiful family health and happiness
I remember the good old days with them old cars very much classic
Love this. Way good. Love the humour in this one ❤😅
The Stovebolt 6 was a great engine! Our '31 Chevrolet is running like a sewing machine at 93 years old!
I love those old cars. They had all the style back then.
LOVE THAT ENGINE
Your smell reactions are the best
Great rescue! Very nice old Chevy, Ripe for a restoration! Alway's loved the headlights on that model year. Short but a fun video to watch. Something that if done on ViceGrip garage , would of been at least a hour show. Take a breather,,,, Good show.
You drove through Mason. That's where I live. So cool
Those cars run like a truck. When I was 19 I had a 38 business coupe. I live in maine. That car came from Chula Vistav,California and still had the original dealer sticker inside the door frame. Now I’m 66 and I wish I had never sold it.
Awesome....hello from San Diego! Do you know if your '38 was driven to Maine from Chulajuana?
Using some 2-cyle oil is a great tip for an old engine that hasn't be running in a while!
Awesome always cool stuff always thanks
My dad had a 37’ but 4 door, cool car!
Maybe fewer accidents back then had something to do with the fact that there’s no cup holders and the common use of cell phones was 80 years in the future. Notice how the front of the crankshaft still has provision for a hand crank.
Rock on, Derek. She'll buff right up.
My dad owned one of these back in the early 60s.Drove to Delco Remus in Anderson In every day…tough car!!
And another one on the books...NICE!!
Guy made me spit up my water when he opened the trunk😂😂
I dig the old ones good vid.
this is really really awesome
Very sweet and cool thanks😭😭😭👍👍💪🤗
Great old car
Awesome video like always
Well that was definitely different 😅. Didn't think you ever wore a mask. Really like the car, thanks for sharing.
Best top pocket find ever.
There weren't more accidents back in the day because people knew how special those machines were, and they treated them as such. What an amazing car.
very cool. Living the dream
Very nice start for a build
love that style car...need them back ...early USA cars are the best with style and shape and a good motor
*let's add basic oil* uses VR1 and blurrs it lol
We need back to this type of car. Simple and cheap🎉
I wish this was one your regular channel. Episode not long enough. Cool car.
I love old cars! (1940 and older are "old" cars). This would be a really fun project. That frame looked really scary though! I hope I can find the long version of working on this project.
dude, the way that you talk should be classified as a different language. I absolutely love it.
That hole in the floor was for the foot pedal start. Had a 39 chevy,
Yep, you got the full open tourer experience with that drive!
Enjoyed
"Found the seats" made me bust out laughing.
i have an awsome 37 chevy that started out just like that mustang front end airbags and all the accesories did it ALL by myself too
Such a classy Beast
Would really like to drive that car! Nice and simple!
I subscribed because I love VGG!
My brother had a '40 Ford coupe we worked on to get on the street. Drove it to a gas station in 35 degree weather with just a weld splattered left windshield. The dust is gonna fly with a tunnel effect.
Best audio mixed show on KZhead! Why aren’t all shows mixed this clearly. Great work guys!
Great entertainment!
Derek, your immune system must be nuclear powered. Btw, great car, top video man.
Awesome and outstanding. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
Love these videos, just wish they were longer and showed more of the work.
they are longer if you subscribe to motor tend
AWESOME
I love this Chevy great job vgg
Se ve brutal el carro y corre bien..
Except for the grill it looks exactly like my first car. A 36 chevy standard with a solid front axle. I had to tow mine home behind a 56 Desoto. I ramed into the back of it several times trying to stop but got it running eventually.
I hope you can keep this one.
Your battery throwing skills have improved
I love the look of this car. Time to hit ebay!
pretty slick
Car comedy and sarcasm. lol. She's an art deco era beauty just before WW2.
Happy to see this episode. I have a 37 master deluxe 4 door by great grandpa bought original!
That was in Michigan? 20 years outside in Michigan, that thing is lucky to cast a shadow, let along drive down the street with only a water pump and acc. pump rebuild required. Thats.. amazing. Someone's project for sure.
it was sheded,, content for viewers..
Vice grip great guy
