Begging you to please please please read Binding 13! You expressed interest in the book a few times before and based on your tastes I think you would LOVE it! It’s a sports romance (he’s a rugby player) and they meet on her first day at Tommen College when he kicks a ball and accidentally hits her in the back of the head and knocks her out which I like so cute and I SWEAR the romance will have you kicking and squealing in bed at 4AM in the morning. The characters are definitely the most lovable people on earth- honestly don’t think there’s a possibility that anyone could not root for Shannon (and all her brothers) and Johnny (and Gibsie). While it’s technically a YA book, me and most people wouldn’t really agree with that because the book does come with some pretty hefty trigger warnings (Shannon grows up in a very toxic and abusive household) and Johnny definitely has a lot of his own struggles too that I can’t say without spoiling but I swear despite all that they are the most amazing characters to read about. Love you always, Byeeee! ❤
It’s SO much more than just a fluffy sports romance though, so while there are some ridiculously funny scenes (aka. Gibsie and his cat’s explosive diarrhoea and higher-than-a-kite Johnny) please don’t go into it expecting it to be a sweet cute surface level thing because if you’re anything like me I promise you will be SOBBING.
throne of glass is my favorite series ever!! dorian and chaol are some of the biggest comfort characters to me, they've helped me so much and i couldn't even descibe how much i love dorian, he is the loml

Manon is definitely one of my favorite sjm characters EVER. As soon as she was introduced i was so invested in her storyline and I absolutely bawled during one moment of hers in particular (IYKYK). As the series progressed I sadly didn’t feel as invested as I did in the beginning, but manon really kept me from giving up on finishing it. I agree that assassins blade and throne of glass are very nostalgic to look back on. I think those two will always be my favorites in the series!!

I'm so confused as to why nobody ever seems to read The Assassin's Blade third, after Crown of Midnight but before Heir of Fire. That's the order SJM herself recommends on her website, so I don't get why it's so unpopular (to the point that this video doesn't even mention it as an option)! I always find it funny when a fandom collectively decides an author is incorrect about their own work like that, and it sort of happened twice with this series (the reading order and then the popularity of the tandem read for Tower of Dawn and Empire of Storms)
I read Assassin’s Blade third and to this day I still consider it the best way 🤔 and I agree SJM recommended it herself so 🤷♀️
I hear more people recommend reading 1st or 3rd. I rarely hear 4th. I’ve been debating whether to read it 1st or 3rd.

@@faithi717 If you really want to understand all the references to her past in the first 2 books and not be spoiled on what happens in the prequel read it first, but if you want to get to know Celeana, the world and you want to know what you are embarking on before reading the prequel I advise you to read it third 🤔 I just think starting with throne of glass is the better introduction to this series and this world but that’s my opinion 🙌

ahhh. unpopular opinion but i actually enjoyed tower of dawn a lot more than i thought i would. idk if it was because i went in w low expectations or it was because i listened to a lot of it on audiobook or maybe it was cause i really really likes yrene. like you said , she is one of the non warrior type characters and i really loved her pov. especially on audio.
I completely agree! I almost liked Tower of Dawn more than Empire of Storms, I was just so attached to Yrene and had been from Assassin's blade. The world building was also gorgeous

Unpopular opinion: I actually really loved Tower of Dawn. I did the tandem read, and I found that the slower pace was actually really nice. I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much if I did them individually

Ali, honey, I love you. But I am a FIRM believer that reading assassins blade first is a mistake. I’m currently reading the series for the first time myself, I’m at the beginning of Kingdom of Ash. But I think the emotional impact of assassins blade is intended for you to have after already knowing her. I felt perfectly connected to Celaena reading Throne of Glass first, and then seeing all of the backstory later just made the emotions overwhelming. If you aren’t an emotional reader, I get it, but if this helps anyone decide to read assassins blade after heir or fire, I’ll be happy.

That's how I felt a bit with the last 3 books. The books are still so good but I started to loose a bit of steam with the length of the series & the individual books

I read the Throne of Glass series as it came out and its been years since the last book was released and it is still a god tier series for me. Nothing has surpassed it as of yet but Fourth Wing is a very close second.

I read it fourth and I will die saying that’s they best way 😂 I also have a very unpopular opinion and people have tried to fight me in the comments, but AB, ToG, CoM, and ToD are the best in the series and KoA is the worst 😂
As someone who read AB after book 5... I have so much regret. I wish I would've read it first, and I will never understand why people say to read it later in the series. I feel like I missed so much because of it. It was hard to like Celaena in the beginning, and I didn't care about Sam at all 😅😅. Once I read it, and things came together, I was that much more obsessed!!

Soo, this is my favorite series of all time and it is what got me into reading a few years ago, i went back and forth eith the first 2 books like not exactly caring than restarting and so on, but in the thrid boook the series made it on a 6 star graph.i loved aelin a little more than i loved celaena so the last 6 books were my faves, but i read the prequel last wich was bad cuz i didnt undestand anything in the 4 book and i reccommand reading the prequel second ( unpopular opinion) also i realy didnt like chaol and i loved rowan from the first page anyway my fav book is QOS and my least favTOD❤

I think it’s so fun how books are so different for everyone. Heir of Fire was my least favorite. 😂 it’s also funny that I rated just a couple books 5 stars but the overall series was 5. You just get so nostalgic thinking back to the beginning

Kinda spoilers! ( it's just names but if you don't want to know anything don't read ahead!) I'm currently reading Tower of Dawn ( not doing the tandem read though) and it's also moving wayyy too slow for me. Nesryn is also just kinda there for me, but Chaol and Yrene are sooo sweet, and the main reason I'm reading the book. Heir of Fire is my favourite so far, just because of Manon and Rowan probably. Also unpopular opinion, but Queen of Shadows wasn't that good for me just because it took me a while to get into it and I thought the beginning had too much stuff going on.

As someone that's read all of SJM's series multiple times I highly suggest reading the TOG series before reading at least the 3rd Crescent City book. As you can pick up on a few easter eggs in the 3rd Crescent City book if you've already read the TOG series
