Why not?
But then how do we condition thighs??it pains a lot with a normal kick 😅
@@barryg528 it doesn't actually strengthen your thighs, it only tears them down
@@mr.doctorcaptain1124 it still make your thigh feel less pain overtime tho, cuz i have been smashing my thigh against my sandbag and now it doesnt feel much pain like in the beginning anymore
@@averagecalisthenicsguy1504 you have not been smashing your thigh, you've been smashing your calf. Bone density increases with striking. Muscle density increases with training. Of course your kicks don't hurt as much now as they used too. For one, you've increased muscle density by training your legs. And for two, you increased bone density during that time period as well. But smashing your leg into an object will not increase muscle density. And the negatives can be severe, as the muscles take damage during all that striking. Likewise, if you OVERTRAIN your kicks, instead of increasing bone density you can damage the bones. So be smart when you train. Look at Cody garbarant as an example of a guy with a serious overtraining problem. Went from being a champ to being someone who struggles to stay healthy.
For those of you who have never taken a leg kick, it is absolutely insane how much this hurts....even at like 50 percent power.
What’s even more sore is shin on shin, or shin on elbow. Even with the shin guards on. Next day is always shitty.
@@qaaronrodgers2479 shin to shin is nightmarish 😭
Yall just need some good conditioning and most of your shin fears will go away, I used to be extremely scared because of the skinny nature of my shins, but day in an out conditioning you really start to feel it way way less like a normal thing.
One of my mates got me to go along to a mt class (he’s a coach) he then demos a kick for the class on me (key word here DEMOS) a kick and that shit hurted.
Facts that shit sucks...

Jokes aside, a training like this ended my never starting "career" in muay thai. I was training for the national championship when my trainer gave us this drill for thigh conditioning, and i got a dude 40 pounds heavier than me as a partner, who absolutely destroyed my left thigh, and being the dumbass as i am i stood my ground and didnt back out, my left thigh was torn from the bone, 1,5 years of rehab, had to learn to walk again. So doing this as a training drill is really not recommended, at least for a long period of time
Damn
Horror storys like this are common as fuck, this man is speaking a very important truth that goes beyond just just joke, to many people risk everything for their pride in training.

I consider myself to have a pretty heavy low kick and did this once with a 60 something year old in eastern Europe (at his request and without shin pads). The dudes leg was like an iron bar, he laughed every time i kicked him and asked me to do it harder each time. Never seen anything like it since.
haha damn!

Plot twist it was a prosthetic leg 🦿🤣

This is somehow motivating me to get legs like that guy by 60 :)
I had a grade 3 MCL tear from one of those kicks. 5 months - no Muay Thai.
I dont feel like walking today after watching ur video. I can feel the pain thru the screen.
haha!!
I did this with a friend of mine during every light thigh conditioning training. Instead of kicking each other with restrained power, we were laughing and screaming in agony at the same time while chopping each other's legs off. I could not contain my laughter anymore after a few kicks. The fun we had, training afterwards was even more hilarious when you walk like a zombie and you watch him next to you having trouble to do a kick series
LOL
Best way to start offence in a fight is with a well-placed leg kick, unless your leg snaps in the process💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿

Its not, very Easy to block. More like jab then leg kick
I remember doing this in middle school, except it was either a punch to the arm or it was knuckle thumping. Ouch lol You are pretty tough Jeff

Kid: *mom why do men die earlier?*
I was in a gym temporarily because I was on vacation in that region and they did that there. I didn’t know better before so I participated. Couldn’t walk for a week and couldn’t train with full intensity for 2+ weeks. If someone ever tells you to do this, decline. Even if they say something like your a pussy etc. Put your ego aside. It’s not worth it. You can only get better if you’re able to train.
"I wonder what the next door neighbours are doing?" The next door neighbours:
It's more fun doing it in Thailand, because of the squat toilet. I can feel the pain.
These short videos are fun to watch ☺ make more!
thanks man! will do :)
You can do a soft version of this sometimes but not like this very often. It's not just about pain but also damage done to your body. It hurts for a reason. It's better to kick the bag more often and to do more leg muscle exercises.
Leg exercises dont reduce the pain tho, being kicked so many times does. Of course its a thin line between getting kicked a lot and getting kicked "too much". Like in muscle building.
And suddenly I want to go back to Taekwondo. No leg kicks allowed
LOLLL🤣
Damn taking those after leg day.

Remember kids ... Nerves die faster than bone grows. Just because the pain is gone, doesn't mean anything got stronger.
Always good to condition the sciatic. Super safe and definitely won't lead to debilitating lower back pain
Just be careful, needed surgery because I overdid it. Always cool it and position it somewhere high so that gravity helps with your blood circulation 🙏🏼
cheers!! this was just a one time thing for fun!
Thanks for the personnal experience and warning 🙏
You mean position your leg higher?? I didn’t understand that line
I’d guess this kinda training has ruined more careers then made them. No reason for this unless you want knee surgery
Bro they are kicking the thigh there is no real long term damage for that

The reason Jeff is winning is 1.) cuz he’s obviously just super good and talented and a veteran but 2.) mainly cuz he’s digging and laying the kick down over the leg so the bone digs deep and hits the bone hard..u wanna kick their leg like perpendicular like make a cross patter and kick down
that guy has reinforced concrete in his shin. for sure
haha
That first kick looks like it landed on your knee. All fun and games until you get injured for real.
good thought for video though of how you would actually recommend thigh conditioning

The grunts before impact get me

We do this in Karate without the protection. And my friends ask why I skip leg day...😂

Jeff comes down on top, uses the edge more. Notice how he even grimaces when his partner hits his quad in the first part. Dutch style h u r t s 🤣

This is now my favourite video on KZhead
Excellent video
And then one guy checks that kick it breaks your ankle and half
lmao no u casual
Na, they doing calf kicks now in MMA.
Lol your boys didn’t shift weight over the leg being kicked but you did
Had to do this in the Marines during MCMAP training. Called body hardening. The guy I was partnered with kept hitting the side of my knee, then had a lot of physical activity to do after, like fireman's carry runs, squats, and other leg intensive training. Tore me up, crutches for three months. The weight shift from that long screwed with my other knee and also threw my hips out so my lower back is also shot. We also took punches to the stomach as part of the hardening, it was basic, there are way more levels of it. Do it right of you're gonna do it, not like my partner.... But it is a thing.
You should have thought him not to hit your knee tho..
As a person who grew up sparring amongst friends that shit hurts alot it completely makes you a down to earth person 😂😂
Great video 😊😊😊
Bro you got me cracking up but enjoying the vid 😂😂😂😂 keep up loading 😎👍👍
thanks :)
Bro second time I watch this… I’m still cracking up😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I did this once at my old gym back in the day, and I got seriously injured due to the repeated trauma. The muscle tissue on my quad basically became calcified, and I couldn't tense the muscle at all for weeks, lest I experienced excruciating pain. It became hard and very stiff, and whenever I tense the muscle, shooting/stabbing pain would occur. There's a medical term for this, but I can't remember what they told me it was. Missed out on an opportunity to spar with "Master Cha" due to this (the muay thai guy that, while pretty tipsy/drunk, fought that guy in that one viral backyard fighting video), since this happened around the time he did a seminar at our gym. I was pretty bummed I missed the opportunity to have him whoop my ass. Seriously, if over-done, this can really fuck you up.
Tony Ferguson will be proud
haha!
Gonna try this with my mum thanks
UFC fighters be taking these without protection 👀👀

Nice guys. Keep up the good work
thx!
This video is nice cuz u can progressively see how they start slowing their walk since you can’t put weight on the foot that got kicked afterwards or it will cramp up, shows how effective the kick is
Amazing!
I can really see the difference with Jeff jus angling the kick down at the last second vs the first guy going straight horizontal and the 2nd having a slight horizontal angle.
Powerful shots there
I liked this conditioning so much that I forgot to not do it during my first battle. (I also forgot I was supposed to fight 2 times the same day 💀)
very smart with the angles Jeff
That “yoh” sounded straight outta street fighter 😭
I feel this!!! The first time I received a low kick I could hardly walk for days.
This really shows the level of conditioning that fighters like Nate Diaz have that can absorb 100 leg kicks

Dammmn pure Technique right there… those guys are huge and you still manage to take all they can give but they couldn’t continue to take you’re power.
Please do skull conditioning next 😊
I did this exercise after I hit legday and sore legs with an professional kickboxing. I had to stop every 3 kicks and tell him I was so sore I could barely take a kick with shinpads on
Holy shit! Good job guys
You can condition your shin, because it is a bone, and the micro fractures you create will cause a thickening as they heal.. you can not, however, condition a thigh muscle... The physiology of muscle fibers don’t work that way. Some people will say that Wolff’s law applies, however, his study was directly related to bone conditioning.
Lol bro what are you on about?? If you couldn't condition your thigh then the average everyday civilian would take a leg kick the same as a pro fighter, is that the case? Absolutely not. Fighters have conditioned their thighs that's why they don't collapse in pain after one or two kicks. Please think about shit longer before spitting out a opinion
@@IjbvfknnnI fought Muay Thai professionally for 9 years, and now have a school where I train MT fighters, open 13 years now. So I stand behind my original comment. What you are referring to is lean quality muscle mass, and yes, possibly, the more lean quality muscle mass you have, the better you can absorb a leg kick. However what I responded to was someone claiming that they could condition their thigh muscle, not make it bigger or stronger, but condition it. Almost saying that through taking a high number if kicks, you could callous the muscle.? That is silly and just not possible. Also if taking more kicks would in any way condition your thigh muscle, then how to guys with hundreds of MT fights still go down from leg kicks..? Maybe stick to something you have some personal knowledge of, because this is way outside of your comfort zone.
