I think it could have gone either way. I wouldn’t call it a robbery. The 2 judges that scored it for Pascal had it 7rounds to 5 and the one that had it for Jack had it 7-5 for him. There were several close rounds and it was a close fight. Scoring a knockdown in the 12th dosent give u anymore points than scoring a knockdown in the 4th. It does tend to leave more of an impression on the audience however.

Well said. But this just reminded me of a funny interaction I once had. Someone said that DeGale got robbed by Jack. We then argued and he said the only reason Jack got a draw, was because he got a lucky knockdown in the 12th. Of course I then reminded him that DeGale himself scored a KD in the first. He didn´t reply to me after that.

Rauno Loik Yeah I think a lot of fans focus too much on the second half of a fight. If one fighter dominates the first 7 rounds and then the other fighters dominates the last 5 then a lot of people will say the guy who dominated 5 rounds got robbed lol

Yes i do💪🏾And bfore covid ive been to several camps and multiple golden glove tournament's. Everybody has there own interpretation on how u should play that sport but as far as me, im out to prove im better then u. One on one. Whose the better man, speed, power, defense, offense, better jab,etc. Thats why one my favorite boxers of all time was pac.pac fought anybody tht came his way as he rose threw the ranks... from the baby face assassin, to cotto, to keith thurman. And alot of his fights was similar, he gave u his all and left it in the ring. It don’t always matter about being undefeated that makes u a true champion or top fighter. Its about wht u put in it to build your craft and legacy. What do u wanna be remembered for.. But thats just my take on the sport that i love, we all got out own, but thats mine

Very true in majority cases. Close fight none the less. It's almost whether the judges like the slight bit more of aggression of Pascal or the more economical precise shots of The Ripper. Plus they both had a knockdown so it actually could be looked at as a draw even though the Ripper has a lot of draws it's really depending I what the judges like better, plus champion having an edge is something that's taken into the judges eyes. Close fight.

being a champion shouldn't have a baring on scoring. you're scoring the effectiveness of the punches and a belt doesn't help you deal or sustain damage. you can't wear it into the ring with you.

Where did they find this interviewer at the end? He asked as if he was on Jack's side. None of them were the judges in this fight. You just have to deal with the consequences. From a business point, who is Badou Jack? Pascale brought the Canadians and Haitians out. Who filled the arena? Pascale. This is boxing guys deal with it.

Keep in mind the knock down in the 4th. Does not automatically make it a 10-8 round. A fighter can still be winning a round. And get knocked down. The 4th round should be 10-9 Pascal. And most likely this should have been draw.

Yes you are correct lose 1 point for knockdown and lose one point for losing the round. It is possible to win a round and get knocked down, example is Klitschko vs AJ round 5. If a fighter wins the round despite suffering a knockdown on a 10 point must system the round should be scored 9-9.

If Badou Jack was so good he would not be in so many matches where his fans could claim "he got robbed." He has been in close fights, but the champ would do enough to win without controversy. That being said - I can see 113-113 as a fair score, though after the knockdown in 12, Jack really deserved the nod. Regardless, this was a tremendous fight and I will look forward to seeing both of these men fight again.

He doesn't have a lot of hustle. Punches like a metronome. Very consistent, very steady, but just doesn't turn it up when he really should. He allows rounds to be stolen from him a lot.

Jack won the fight, just cuz pascal throws hard shots doesn’t mean he landed most of them, he just goes out with flurries, and like the commentators said, you can see the shots. Jack dominated the second half of the fight, and still controlled the fight period. Pascal isn’t really valid since he tested positive for 3 different steroids which he more than likely used for this fight because of the hard shots he’s taken and still been able to come forward. That’s not normal at all. Jack is the true boxer here and he won off of pure boxing ability.

What these commentators failed to acknowledge was that Pascal was the aggressor through most of the fight. Which is probably why he edged ahead to a win. Plus. the challenger (Jack) has to be the more dominant against the champion to win. And, he wasn't.

I think it could have gone either way. I wouldn’t call it a robbery. The 2 judges that scored it for Pascal had it 7rounds to 5 and the one that had it for Jack had it 7-5 for him. There were several close rounds and it was a close fight. Scoring a knockdown in the 12th dosent give u anymore points than scoring a knockdown in the 4th. It does tend to leave more of an impression on the audience however.
Well said. But this just reminded me of a funny interaction I once had. Someone said that DeGale got robbed by Jack. We then argued and he said the only reason Jack got a draw, was because he got a lucky knockdown in the 12th. Of course I then reminded him that DeGale himself scored a KD in the first. He didn´t reply to me after that.
Rauno Loik Yeah I think a lot of fans focus too much on the second half of a fight. If one fighter dominates the first 7 rounds and then the other fighters dominates the last 5 then a lot of people will say the guy who dominated 5 rounds got robbed lol

Yes i do💪🏾And bfore covid ive been to several camps and multiple golden glove tournament's. Everybody has there own interpretation on how u should play that sport but as far as me, im out to prove im better then u. One on one. Whose the better man, speed, power, defense, offense, better jab,etc. Thats why one my favorite boxers of all time was pac.pac fought anybody tht came his way as he rose threw the ranks... from the baby face assassin, to cotto, to keith thurman. And alot of his fights was similar, he gave u his all and left it in the ring. It don’t always matter about being undefeated that makes u a true champion or top fighter. Its about wht u put in it to build your craft and legacy. What do u wanna be remembered for.. But thats just my take on the sport that i love, we all got out own, but thats mine

Very true in majority cases. Close fight none the less. It's almost whether the judges like the slight bit more of aggression of Pascal or the more economical precise shots of The Ripper. Plus they both had a knockdown so it actually could be looked at as a draw even though the Ripper has a lot of draws it's really depending I what the judges like better, plus champion having an edge is something that's taken into the judges eyes. Close fight.

114-112 either way or 113-113. Pascal won the first 5 rounds. Round 4 was all jack until he went down making it 10-8. none of this 9-9 it's 10 point must.

being a champion shouldn't have a baring on scoring. you're scoring the effectiveness of the punches and a belt doesn't help you deal or sustain damage. you can't wear it into the ring with you.

Yes you are correct lose 1 point for knockdown and lose one point for losing the round. It is possible to win a round and get knocked down, example is Klitschko vs AJ round 5. If a fighter wins the round despite suffering a knockdown on a 10 point must system the round should be scored 9-9.
If Badou Jack was so good he would not be in so many matches where his fans could claim "he got robbed." He has been in close fights, but the champ would do enough to win without controversy. That being said - I can see 113-113 as a fair score, though after the knockdown in 12, Jack really deserved the nod. Regardless, this was a tremendous fight and I will look forward to seeing both of these men fight again.
He doesn't have a lot of hustle. Punches like a metronome. Very consistent, very steady, but just doesn't turn it up when he really should. He allows rounds to be stolen from him a lot.

Jack won the fight, just cuz pascal throws hard shots doesn’t mean he landed most of them, he just goes out with flurries, and like the commentators said, you can see the shots. Jack dominated the second half of the fight, and still controlled the fight period. Pascal isn’t really valid since he tested positive for 3 different steroids which he more than likely used for this fight because of the hard shots he’s taken and still been able to come forward. That’s not normal at all. Jack is the true boxer here and he won off of pure boxing ability.

What these commentators failed to acknowledge was that Pascal was the aggressor through most of the fight. Which is probably why he edged ahead to a win. Plus. the challenger (Jack) has to be the more dominant against the champion to win. And, he wasn't.
