Damn. I won't forget the story of Black Spot. Stood post protecting her family until she literally starved. Even dying, she fed the pups who weren't her blood. A true soldier.
o7 o7 o7
Whose pups was it??
Snow White @@sosan1381
@@sosan1381 Black Spot joined Snow White's pack and it was Snow White's pups. Snow White was able to leave the den and hunt since Black Spot was guarding, and was also getting fed by the pack. But Black Spot refused to leave the den and she wasn't being fed by the pack since the pack hadn't had a big kill and spare food. So she starved to death while protecting Snow White's pups. Black Spot was also nursing Snow White's pups so she was spending lot more energy to produce milk which sped up her starvation related death. The pack will feed Snow White even if it means they go hungry since she's in charge. But they will not intentionally go hungry to feed Black Spot whose is just a member and a new one at that.
m Ppo😊🎉
I love documentaries that embrace and accept the brutality of nature. It goes to show just how difficult like in the wild can be.
Cock in the second match
Black Spot's is possibly the saddest story I've ever heard. So many tears! And then tears again at the end with the howling. That was just beautiful!
Hello Juli how are you doing today
@@stevenanthony199 Good, thanks. You?
rip Black Spot :(
Look up Wolf 8 and Togo❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Rest in peace to that lone wolf, and black spot, she died a mother and was still nursing the pups until she died the next day, truly sad
The raid on the 5 pups has me in tears, seeing the mom looking for her babies afterwards.. Damn. It sucks.. I know this is how it is in the wild, and I'm sure the wolf mom would/has killed her prey's/enemy's babies too, but it still sucks
True but that's what we should learn as a human pretty much this is what we humans are doing too for example Israel and Hamas group
Cool 🙂
It's truly amazing that anything can survive in that environment.
Ah, how about the Inuit (Eskimos)? Man/Women to be PC, survive in every corner of the earth without a natural fur coat and killer fangs. I've been from Alaska to Labrador and every where in between working on the North Warning Systen (NWS or Distant Early Warning system, DEW line radars to protect against against Russian nuclear bombers crossing the horth pole). There were wolves, polar bears, cariboo, whales ...We weren't so much afraid of wolves as the polar bears as they may look cuddley but they think a human is just a seal, thier favorite food. Almost all the stations were built on stilts so as not to thaw out/melt the permafrost (frozen ground) and sink into the earth. When ever you went outside you had to crouch down and look under the building before taking the stairs as the bears like to sleep under the buildings for shelter and warmth. We also needed a rifle and flash bangs at all times while outside. There were bait dogs in many places tied up to alert of any bears and discourage them.
Crazy how they adapt to it too
It’s billions of years of evolution
@@lebronejhames7265not billions
how that one wolf rolled over to submit to the other gang of wolves yet they still killed him. Seeing the pain and the light leave his eyes is something that breaks my heart.
They don’t ever show the wolves killing prey only after it’s been killed. But they can show the whole process of the lone wolf being killed that shit is bogus
Same here
ya I didnt even watch the whole thing and it was freakin sad

utterly stunning production, the raw detail of the struggle females go through to start a family and the competition with other packs is just poignant and intense. Thank you!
Black spot gave her life for those puppies. And they weren't even hers 😢
Yes it’s crazy yet extremely sad and unfortunate she died
Yes its so sad that those dirty pack even didnt give her food . She had only fur to eat .
I wanted that pack to get wrecked. Dumb dogs
@@RecoveringChristian there wolves, there also beautiful creatures if you can tell they resemble no dog it’s just the dog that make look like them a bit like a husky, wolf dog but wolves are beautiful and caring and loving their better than humanity in my opinion
@@drippy8788 these dogs were lame. The editing was questionable, the narrative they crafted was dubious. This is just 1 step above modern nat geo docs that play like a contrived bollywood anime scene.
so heart breaking what happened to black spot... how could they share zero food with her when she was protecting and feeding the pups x.x
You mean BlackSpot. Yes, it’s heartbreaking. I could barely watch it. So angry with them.
@@SharonMartinez edited my comment! I agree it was really hard. I wanted to believe that they wouldnt let that happen, but the laws of nature are even harsher than I realized
I think because it was an anomaly (two females both taking care of pups), their instincts still told them that only Snow White could eat, as she was the one who actually gave birth. It’s sad, but luckily it probably doesn’t happen too often
They didnt even allow her to go hunt.
Bc they are intelligent creatures.
Awe the pups are so adorable and i love watching nature channels. Wolves are wild animals but still are cute will protect their cubs from other creatures and predators. 😊
Didn't you watch the part where the wolves located and killed the cubs of the lone female wolf. She couldn't protect them. If she tried she would be killed. The trio of wolves hunted down the lair containing cubs, killed those cubs, broke them up and ate them. No meat is wasted where they're at..Forget the cuckoo cuddley lah lah bit. Wolfs kill wolves, especially cubs of rival females. Nothing cute about cannabalism and infanticide in their world. Wolves are supreme killers, survival experts, and pack specialists. That, is the reality of these superb predators.
@@KernowekTim nah still cute

Wow, this is really incredible to watch. I would have killed to see stuff like this when I was a kid. I remember how excited I was at a little snippet on PBS about tracking red wolves with radio collars, and how disappointed I was at how short the bit was.

Fox having 11kids and sustaining is on another level
Absolutely heart wrenching - the lone female wolf losing her offspring. And God bless you, Black Spot. I don’t understand her relationship to the pack and her drive to nurse others’ offspring to the point of her demise. The documentary does not really offer any insight. It’s awful 😞 how badly wolves treat each other.
No worse than how people treat each other.🤷♂️
@@weago666 I have had a really shitty life on many levels (okay on good days) but still it does not compare to the life of wild predatory animals such as wolves. It's a lot worse. Get real.
@@SharonMartinez oh, really? I wasn't aware that animals torture other animals for fun, oh wait no, that's just humans.
@@SharonMartinez I'll also add that these 'stories' that are so heart wrenching are only that way because we humans put our emotions into it making it sad. Nature does what it does, get real.🤷♂️
@@SharonMartinez are you also aware that there are animal parents out there that kill and eat their young sometimes, right? The more you know🌈
Thanks for posting this. Wolves are fascinating creatures!
Quality and substance of this Documentary are excellent. WE thank the film crew and Editor of this Video for producing such a detailed study into the Arctic Wolf behavior. Living in the Arctic to film the Wolf Packs would not be easy in the Summer let alone the winter. For the Editor, is it possible that Black Spot died of a Disease rather than starving to death.
P
I am not a professional but I think her death was mainly due to starvation and due to which her metabolism and immune system got affected and maybe she caught cold and that was the reason of her death.
wild animals
Lol they didn't stay during the winter. Wolves have never been fully documented in the arctic winter. Its literally impossible

They are unbelievably gorgeous animals. I statred to crying just came on this page/ heard name black spot... She is an awesome wolf!
Documentaries of animals are so satisfying and nice to watch also when they add peaceful music but poor black spot she did everything and no one cared for her and even though the pups weren't hers she deserves better shes in a better place were everyone cares for her
WWOOOWWWW 😳😳😳 That was pretty intense and a great blessing to watch, I enjoyed getting to know what they are like...I'm grateful!!!
I absolutely love these nature programs
Amazing documentary. Please make more wolf documentaries!!!❤❤❤
Humans could learn so much from animals. Ths video was incredible in everyway . Bravo to the film makers.
doubt it as we are one of the most intelligent animals on earth lol
You're right. We could learn how to hunt down and kill each other like these wolves do. Oh, wait.... we already do that. I suppose we could learn how to kill and then eat the offspring of other humans, or eat our own dead progeny (again, like the wolves and MANY other species do, including bald eagles). Hardly any of us indulge in that practice. OR... we could be like my ducks where, if left to their own 'nature', the males (drakes) consistently would gang up seven or more to one and rape a single female to death while holding her head underwater as she drowns. When I was growing up in SoDak, we had a horse that would eat the fluffy newly hatched baby chickens if they got too close to her (I know...that' seems weird). I don't know why she did that, but you people who constantly hold up humans as being the prime examples of cruelty, and animals as being the way people should act, have obviously never spent any time around wildlife or farm animals. Just sayin'.
like what?
what troubles me about Humans . there doing this documentary .making lots of money did these geniuses ever think about feeding them i wonder how the humans would like it if the wolves where watching them starve . it is implausible what humans take for granted

I think that black spot is that female who lost her pups to rival pack prior
I’ve worked in eureka before and the wolves pass right through camp almost daily. One guy even pet one named one eye because his other eye was scared. They are harmless and pass right through scouting for musk ox. I’ve seen them chase Hare too but with no success.

This documentary was amazing!
The cub with the same spot as Black Spot makes me think that it was hers, and not Snowwhite's. It would explain a few things to me, like why she was even lactating, or why Snowwhite and Alpha allowed her near the cubs. Who knows, maybe that's where she got that motherly instinct to protect them at all cost, even her own life. ❤❤❤😢
And here I had assumed that Black Spot was the mother from the beginning that lost her five pups to the "raiders". The narrator didn't explicitly say it, but it felt alluded to. Which would make the lactation and motherly instinct make sense as well...not to mention make the story so much better!

Hello Sidney how are you doing today
arctic wolves really have more strict rules than other subspecies of gray wolf
It seems that way. I've watched numerous documentaries on grey wolves and none showed this level of violence.
I would assume due to more harsh living conditions and how much more valuable any food is…. Interesting to see

Amazing documentary and amazing photography. Have no clue how was this video executed, I can guess using drawn photography, but still there must be an operator nearby 24/7. As for the story of the pack, it was heart breaking. Wolves, as much as they seem (to me) so cute, huggable, and amazing animals, must have their own behavioral codes, and can be deadly to one another. I mean, it was heart breaking to see that poor wolf member being wounded and left to die, obviously he was submissive; so could a get-out-of-here warning be suffice? There was no really need to injure him to death. Then there is BlackSpot they have been using until drained to death, like a slave of no merit. If she did die of starvation, they probably knew it will be (as they know and sense anything, much more than we humans), but probably as she was from a different pack ("immigrant") they did not care much for her, they let her raise and nurture the pups, and then goodbye. Tough to watch; but there is nature, what do we humans really know about?
Humans know plenty about nature considering we're part of nature.
and those pups 😢 it absolutely killed me 😭

I tend to imagine the story of Blackspot went like this....Blackspot was an old matriarch that lost her pups and packs to the raider wolves (A band of sterile males and one female) to live out her remaining life roaming the artic protecting other packs' offspring since she is now too old to have her own and must now willingly offer her body and life to the protection of the pack. The END
