    • Thanks Steve. I see the logic and to be honest there is a valid argument here. The brush motor is slower, so less movements, equals less passes over the teeth and gums, thus less plaque removal. However, an electric toothbrush is moving many times quicker than a manual brush and with more consistency so you are going to be getting a very good clean, irrespective of which mode you choose. A manual brush, used correctly is perfectly adequate and you can have a very healthy mouth. So, with the increased movements of electric, you are going to be getting even better results. The main thing is to brush regularly, with the correct technique for the right time. Many millions of people don't do this, so you are much further ahead in many respects!

  • Pain will still pernitrate to individuals that grow their wisdom teeth in properly. So while growing Wisdom teeth a user should use Sensitive or Gum Care mode. Sensitive mode: Will give a more gentler brushing actions. Gum Care mode: Can be used at the areas where the wisdom teeth will form. Therefore the vibrartion will help reduce the pain at the area the wisdom teeth will erupt.

    @rileylordemann1190@rileylordemann11902 ай бұрын
    • If you have an Oral-B iO toothbrush, where the light turns green when you apply the correct pressure, then yes. Non-iO models don't turn the light ring green. If you are new to an electric toothbrush or your gums are particularly sensitive then don't push too hard and you don't have to get to the point the light ring turns green. Better to start off slightly more gently and get yourself and gums used to the pressure.

  • Hi, thanks for breaking down the different Oral-B cleaning modes! But looks like you forgot about the Super Sensitive and Intense Clean Mode which appear on the IO Series.

    @12Krypton@12Krypton9 ай бұрын
    • Thanks. This video was uploaded in September 2020, just around the time the iO Series began shipping, hence not being included as the brushes didn't really exist at the time of recording. So yes, they are missing from the video but in all reality, they are very similar to other modes. Super sensitive is essentially a lesser powered Sensitive mode and Intense is like Pro Clean. The iO Series has been entirely redesigned and uses a different motor within the handle in comparison to most other Oral-B electric toothbrushes. It has a frictionless magnetic motor. Fundamentally this still allows the iO series to clean the teeth as well as any other model. But, the way the brush head delivers the movements is slightly different. The way the cleaning action is measured is significantly different too. The brush head still has an oscillating, rotating and pulsating action, however rather than being measured by a number of movements per minute it is now measures based on the oscillation angle.

  • oral b pro 7 or 8000 series is where it's at. i've been using the oral b since 2006 and it's the best electric brush in my opinion. I need the deep clean and seems violently nice. Once I stopped using the fluoride garbage that damaged my teeth for years, my tooth stains were removed and not a single cavity in 3 years. • Why are the pulsations so variable in daily clean vs pro clean? is it because of the brush model or really in the pro would be the best cleaning because it oscillates and pulsates more ? I have a genius x and i love this model :) Great contents in your channel, congratulations.

    @fabiozagoo@fabiozagoo3 жыл бұрын
    • Fabio. Great question. The variance is down to the model used. The Daily Clean mode is on all Oral-B brushes. These have different motors. The quoted figures cover a range of different models. Therefore the Genius X is going to be offering more pulsations than most as it is a premium model with a more powerful motor. Daily Clean is perfectly fine to use. The Pro Clean mode lasts for 3 minutes. You can use this if you prefer.

  • Thanks for the great video! One thing I'm confused about is how to change the cleaning mode without actually starting the motor on my Oral-B Genius X 10000. It seems like I can only get the mode changed as the toothbrush is brushing which means I'm triggering a session and also not getting an accurate timer. Thanks!

    @fb767@fb7673 жыл бұрын
    • You are absolutely correct about only changing the mode once the brush is switched on. The brush will remember the last mode you used, so if you have brushed for 2 minutes with the Whitening Mode for example, the next time you turn it on, it should default to this mode so you don't need to change it. But, there is no way to change the modes without first powering the brush on. This is a small frustration on all Oral-B toothbrushes, with the exception of their latest model the iO.

      @ElectricTeeth@ElectricTeeth3 жыл бұрын
    • You could also open the Oral b app to change the order of brush modes or disable brushing modes. Like if you only perfer to use Daily Clean you can disable all the another modes so it wouldn't be hard to locate daily clean mode.

    @Peacemaker_boy@Peacemaker_boy2 жыл бұрын
    • You can technically use any brush head on any mode. Some heads are 'better suited' to specific modes for example 3D White on the whitening mode. It is a little more complicated due to the vast array of options. Brush heads should be replaced every 3 months on average. Only upgrade your actual toothbrush handle when the existing one doesn't function any more. You don't need to replace it every few years if it is still working. You do not need to brush in circular motions with this toothbrush. Just move it from tooth to tooth, holding it at a 45 degree angle. • Without going into a very long explanation, the main difference is that the Genius X has AI to help track the exact position of the brush within the mouth, so it shows on screen of a smartphone how well you are brushing so you can see what areas of the mouth you have and have not brushed well. The Smart 6 is an excellent brush and would make for a lovely gift, but if the user loves tech then the Genius model might be a better option. • You can use the gum care and the whitening mode as an everyday brushing mode if you like. Some will use the gum care mode as an extra brushing mode after normal brushing to give their gums extra attention, but this isn't generally required. If using the gum care mode on gums only and not teeth (as an extra brushing session) you don't need toothpaste. You don't need a special paste for whitening mode. • @@ElectricTeeth Thank you--another gum recession person here--been buried in reviews trying to find the best Oral B electric toothbrush for this condition and your website and videos are saving me! One more question though--you said that the different models will have different speeds. I just want one that will give me a sensitive mode and one or two other modes--no bells and whistles--that would lead me to believe the pro1500 would be fine but some reviews say it's too harsh. Would that mean that the sensitive mode isn't sensitive enough? Sorry if this is a confusing question--there are too many options! Which model has the most sensitive of the sensitive modes?

      @jennydellasanta2085@jennydellasanta20853 жыл бұрын
    • I believe the Pro/Smart 1500 would be fine. The power of the motors can vary ever so slightly between different models, but not in a way that makes any meaningful difference. Everyone will have a different opinion on whether the brushing sensation is too harsh or not. Most, should find that the Sensitive mode when used with a Sensitive or Pro Gum Care brush head is ideal. If it was too harsh then you would need to look at a different brand rather than a different brush as another brush from Oral-B would be very similar. If you didn't get along with the brush you could take advantage of the Oral-B money back guarantee.

For example, Whitening Toothpaste only whitens the outer surface of teeth. So if you rinse your mouth you'll rinse away the toothpaste molecules that will whiten your outer surface of teeth.

So to get all your modes back you can open the Oral b App 1. Click on more 2. select Toothbrush 3. Scroll down 4. Click on Reset tooth brush And then you brush would be reset to the facotory set up.

    • Oral-B brushes have a small, round brush head that moves back and forth (side to side movements) in a circular motion to help remove plaque and dental debris. This is the oscillating-rotating movement. This oscillating-rotating movement is referred to as ‘2D’ cleaning by the brand. Pulsations are essentially vibrations that offer a more sophisticated motion and gives another dimension to the brushing. A brush with oscillating-rotating and pulsations has what Oral-B call ‘3D’ cleaning.

    • Thank you for the feedback Yvonne, we will consider this for future updates. For your info. Oral-B brushes have a small, round brush head that moves back and forth (side to side movements) in a circular motion to help remove plaque and dental debris. When using an oscillating-rotating toothbrush, you should gently move the brush head from tooth to tooth, letting the brush do the cleaning. The movement of the bristles and the head itself essentially scrubs the teeth clean. You don’t need to repeatedly move the bush up and down, back and forth. This oscillating-rotating movement is referred to as ‘2D’ cleaning by the brand. Add in Pulsations (essentially vibrations) and this now becomes ‘3D’ cleaning. Pulsations offer a more sophisticated motion and gives another dimension to the brushing. Whereas the 2D cleaning requires the physical movement of the brush head against the teeth, pulsations are essentially a ‘non contact’ form of brushing and relies on pulsations/vibrations.

You certainly don't need to apply lots of pressure. The main thing/benefit is actually doing some form of tongue cleaning.
