  • So I got the exact same thing done to my 2016 JGC SRT it’s been a couple days now and I can say I’m very pleased with the result considering it only cost me 250$ It’s very quite at cruise with the slightest hint of drone I mean you have to have the radio off and be listening for it to hear but at throttle it comes alive it’s really fun to use the paddle shifters I was wondering if it was too quiet at first and I almost turned around to get the mufflers deleted as well remember I came from a 08 JGC SRT8 with dual Borla Atak mufflers and though it sounded very mean and got a lot of attention and thumbs up’s it was loud not sure I want to be that hooligan at the moment or anymore I say that to say this is more of a mature sound and though I haven’t had a chance to drive with the widows down yet living here in the Pacific Northwest I look forward to hearing it like that before I make any other changes. So thank you Mrblack for you videos and for your input and answering all the questions I had beforehand it was greatly appreciated. I’m very pleased with what I got 😃

    @503TD@503TD3 жыл бұрын

  • I have a couple of questions, I been reading the comments..first off thanks for the video! I been thinking about doing this to my 2015 srt Jeep but really haven’t seen any really informational videos up until I saw yours. So my question is, I see you did the resonator delete, 3” piping with an X pipe and kept the rear mufflers but did you do anything about the exhaust flap things that are located after the resonator before the mufflers. I see people either remove them or just weld them open. Just wondering what you did with yours, I was also curious on if you have any obnoxious droning when cruising on the streets or freeway? Did Any check engine lights come on after this mod?

    @daduranman08@daduranman083 жыл бұрын
    • Christopher, this jeep has no flapper deals in the exhaust. Best I can tell they were done away with in 2014 so you should not have them either. There is absolutely nothing obnoxious about this mod other than the removal of the mid muffler does tend to accentuate the 4cyl mode exhaust noise but you have to take the good with the bad. There is the tiniest amount of drone when climbing hills at around 30-40mph and the trans stays in high gear but its not bad at all. These things are very heavily insulated and sound deadened. No check engine lights have appeared in 4k miles. Thanks for checking it out.

Saw your comment below regarding drone...I actually like on a hill so up and downhill I almost daily , is the drone very loud in cabin when holding at high rpm or just minimal that can easily cover with music ? I have a rear delete but that's not enough, I want to go your setup, but don't want drone in general. Is the drone fairly close to stock or way louder?

    @alexyuol1755@alexyuol17553 жыл бұрын
    • Alex. I don't think it's that bad at all. My wife has never complained about it so that should say something right there. Now if you are going to leave the rear deleted and delete the mid muffler that is going to be very loud. I don't listen to music when I drive the SRT. That's how great it sounds.

    • That's a good way to put it Anthony. I would say at it's very worst and only if you held it there maybe a 3. Probably closer to 2. Like I said in the video and other comments its only there under very certain conditions usually high load but high gear 35mph. Don't like it ease into the gas and it shifts to a lower gear and it's gone. I don't think it will do it in sport mode at all. This is technically my wifes daily driver all though she works from home mostly lol but that being said if it droned to any point of being obnoxious it would have been had to be fixed or I'd be dead lol.

Start ups sound amazing, but the cabin drone drone drives me nuts, especially on the highway arohnd 2200 rpm. I’m putting my cats back on and adding rear mufflers in hopes to quiet down the cabin drone to where I don’t have to yell talking with people.

I like the sound, but I've been thinking about putting in an x-pipe and getting rid of the mufflers but I have no idea what it will sound like in a Rover. I've only seen videos of SRT / Trackhawk with x-pipe and no mufflers. I've also seen h-pipes, but can't find any good information on the difference between x and h.

    • @@carycoller3140 I have a feeling if you removed both the resonators and mufflers it will be louder than you may think. I don't have a problem with loud but in my case I still want to be comfortable inside especially stuck in the traffic hell we have around here.

    • @@MRBLACK947 I saw a video just before I saw yours. In that video the guy had a stock Jeep SRT exhaust. He got rid of his mufflers and resonators and put in an x-pipe. It had a decent mello tone and only got crazy loud when he got on it hard. But again, that was on a Jeep, not a Rover. I can't make a true comparison since the two engines are so different. I'll find the link to the video and link it.

    • kzhead.info/sun/dpydZaudhZOCda8/bejne.html This is the one. He really talks too much. Fast forward close to the end and adjust accordingly. He put in an x-pipe and removed resonators and mufflers in his SRT8.

  • Just did it , here's my review, it'll be louder slightly overall , much louder outside than inside. However in auto and eco , it Is kinda annoying annoying MDS. it will drone a bit when you cruise at low speed then tap on the gas , right when it goes through 1k to 1.4k rpm it got a bit of a disgusting drone and vibration. Just throw it in sport mode all the time.

    • I think this is a pretty spot on review. I will say that once you stop focusing on the negatives and just get in and drive the way you normally would you won't really notice it. I think I've put ours in sport a whopping two times since we've owned it. Get out there and hammer on it. That's what it's made for. :)

    • Very little at low rpms in a tall gear from 30-40mph going up slight up hills. these things are so heavily sound deadened and insulated that it is not a bother at all. Listening to the 4cyl mode is more dumb than any small drone there might be.
