Restoring ABANDONED Porsche 993 Carrera to SHOWROOM floor - PART 1/2
This Porsche 993 Carrera Cabriolet was abandoned in the desert for over FIVE YEARS and found it's way to us for a total restoration. We were tasked by Porsche Scottsdale to bring this abandoned barn find back to life. We pulled out everything we have: dry ice cleaning the chassis, engine bay, wheel wells, exterior trim and soft top. We gave it its first wash in over 5 years, premium paint correction, and reworked the entire car from the ground up!
We replaced so many parts on this car I don't even know where to start! The car was part of a yearly Porsche dealer competition where they compete to who restores the best car.
This is the biggest video we've ever done, so we split it up in to two videos, with part TWO coming this Tuesday! Click the remind button on our channel so you can be alerted when it goes live!
Enjoy the video, give it a thumbs up and consider subscribing!
Thank you!

I could watch the dry ice stripping process all day. Whoever figured this out is a genious. Amazing work!
Man that's an ice?! i was trying to figure out if that's' a steam or sand lol :D
@@aljoker7808 it’s just dry ice that is compressed in some way I guess. It’s pretty wild.
@@PMPerformance Yeah i realised after watching bit more, its mind blowing.
@@aljoker7808 what I wonder is who and how did they come up with this? I wish I was that creative?
@@PMPerformance Probably by an accident, they were using it and realised it strips rust :)
I find it so satisfying watching you give new life to a neglected Porsche...you guys are the Michelangelo of paint correction...wow!
I love that you dismantled whatever you could and even cleaned the wiring harnesses. Very few would go this pedantic, even high-end places. Honestly I think this is one of the best details on YT. Kudos to you and Best Wishes!
That means a ton! We really appreciate it!
I would say it's a car in original and very good overall condition stored under cover but exposed to wind blown desert dust but no direct UV damage. Great detail and transformation, just shows what is possible.! Thank you.
Thanks so much Geoff!
Fantastic job as always... Cannot wait to see the finishing touches on part 2. Love how you bring back these older Porsches
What a bizzare thing to say
Love the dry ice blasting, SO satisfying. Such a beautiful colour on a beautiful car.
I haven't seen such a detailed and hardworking effort from youtuber for quite some times... Great job!!
You folks are top notch, and execution of details is perfection! Thanks for sharing. One question When any vehicle is left to rot like the ones you reclaim, is there any maintenance like fluids, filters, belts, etc... performed by an outside source? I know low milage can be deceptive to some, especially when the vehicle looks better than new when you're done. But 5 years is long time between service. Just curious?
This dry ice pressure washing is amazing. I sure wish I had this system 30 years ago.
Man!......I love that "Dry Ice Blast"!!........love it!!
The level of work/detail here means the only home this 911 should end up in is a museum...!
That dry ice cleaning still amazes me , That is a game changer
It is impressive how durable car parts are, extensive cleaning+polishing and all these plastic, seats and carpets look like new.
Deeply satisfying video, excellent work guys !
Ahhh.... can't wait for the next video ! 😍 You guys are outstandingly amazing 👏🏽
Thank you!!
Perfect job perfect tools perfect experts

Wow! I need a dry ice machine and a lift! lol Paint came out looking incredible! Great work gentlemen!
My GF had one like this. I believe Porsche calls that color Amethyst. Beautiful! Nice interior. They rode stiff as a brick, even on the highway.
Awesome colour, awesome car, and awesome job. Looks like new
Love this color
Arena Red Metallic 👍
👌❤️
So good and so motivating. Pro level here.
Awesome job as always sir! I remember the movie "The Specialist" with Sylvester Stallone, James Woods drove a 1992 Porsche 968 Convertible in this same color. Looking forward to Part 2.

Impressive work and transformation, what did you use to polish/clean the plastic convertible window?
Amazing a dumped car. Excellent job
Looks great! What adhesive remover did you use for the stone guards? Would like to replace mine on my 993.
So much well deserved love!
Again. Amazing job. Unbelievable. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊
Very necessary in the final, to make a before and after, good work
Great great job. Love it much
Mind-blowing
Dry ice cleaning the under carriage seems so satisfying; definitely want to try it…
It's almost hard to edit the videos because it's soo soothing
That was just crazy !!!! If you all were here in Houston, I'd have you makeover my 1994 850SCSi !!!
Bonjour, quel matériel vous utilisez pour le nettoyage du châssis?Glace?Merci. Et bravo pour ce travail magnifique.
Nice work. Question? Does the dry-ice method used on the underframe strip any of the factory protective coatings off(cadmium etc)? It looks incredible, but sometimes the grime actually helps prevent future corrosion from moisture and road salt. Do you add a protective coating afterwards? Thanks!
That is what they are doing. 90 % is removing all the cosmoline and protective coatings.Hope they apply a wax or undercoating back
awesome stuff
wow amazing clean spray
Sooo satisfying 🤤
I know right 😍
Excellent franchement bravo
Très bonne restoration bravo
my friend, this is a great job, congratullatios, from BRASIL Marcelo.
🤌💸🙌🏽
Your team has some mad skills. Where did you learn all this from?
No rust..that is dream for car guys. No winter, no salt
ice blasting more satisfying then wash :D
looks like very good work ...well done from germany :D
Increíble.. Lastima q aquí no haya nadie así . Saludos desde España.. 😂
Wow wow super 👏👏👏
Carros como esse Porsche valem ouro aqui no Brasil.
I'd like to see you reapply the protective undercoat that has kept the surfaces and aluminum from corrosion all these years.
É o sonho de muitos apaixonados por automóveis!
Cool restoration job!! 😎👍🏿
Thanks! Big one!
Dude excellent work, I would like to know about this machine you used to clean, can you tell me the name, or some reference site to buy it, I'm from Brazil, success!
Another fantastic job bru.
🙌🏽
Amazing..
Restorasi yang sangat keren
Dryce is the biggest cheat code ever. what a time saver.
It’s definitely a Game Shark
Be honest....who doesn't want one of these machines at home 🙋♂️
Refuse to call this a restoration. I'm having a light restoration done on one car and full restoration on the halo car. When the halo car is restored it won't be anywhere near this good. We need another name. Fabulous job.
🤣🤣🙌🏽 thank you :)
If this car were sat in the desert for so long....that leather would have been.....no more....and so would have the soft top....apart from that....SUPERB JOB, ABSOLUTE SUPERB.
Very nice
Amazing restoration! How many hours did it take, and what was the total cost?
Sehr gut
Impressive work as usual. But your videos have made me believe that Cosmoline is an absolutely legit product.
TORNADOR! one of my favs
Great tool
Amazing job
Thanks Stuart!
How much did this job cost?? Awesome results!
Awesome 😎😎😎👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾💯
Top!
Dude that pressure washer is a damn magic wand, what is that thing?
Great job .....
Thanks Carlos!
The car looks stunning but I can hardly imagine that it set in the desert for five years. After dry ice cleaning the bottom there was not a single spot of rust or corrosion on the floor or on any part underneath it. Even in a desert that’s exceptional, and it looked brand spanking new actually after dry iceing. The 993 must have been at least 20 years old already when it was parked, and in an outstanding condition to. Otherwise I don’t think it would have survived it this way after five years in the burning desert, not even a Porsche. I think that the interior for example would have been fried completely. And why would you park a neat Porsche in the desert and leave it untouched for five years? There must’ve been a mechanical problem with it or…, well crazier things happend, but I still can’t imagine.
Desert climate is so dry no moisture can oxidize with metal
Wich Microfiber Polish Pad do you use an wich Paste? THX
I must say .....ice blast is pretty impressive
That Porsche looks like a new car,👌👍☝🏽👏🏿
🙌🏽🙌🏽
Makes me want to get back into Detailing.
You’ll never find an undercarriage that well preserved and rust free up here in the northeast.
I’d have been listening to Bidibodi Bidibu by bubbles the whole time working on the Porsche
Amazing work if u can fix some problems u basically have a brand new old car
Цвет очень подходит именно этой модели.Видел такую в живую на солнце. Цвет восхитительно подчеркивает ее прекрасные, повторяющиеся на разных элементах, линии блика. Машина,которая без всяких молдингов прекрасна. Совершенство!!!
"Hey, can you clean that part with a wet towel, please?" "Nah, bro, I have a dry ice cleaning machine"...
If you don’t use the dry ice, it will evaporate 😉
OMG is that a SandGrau 356 next to it? can you please do a video on that. Love that color.
