It's sad... I used to play nothing but cod back suring the Black ops 1 - MW3 - black ops 2 times. Most games expand upon what they do well, but cod just recycles and adds stuff no one asked for. Me and my friends enjoyed cod again when warzone came out. It got bland after a decent time, but we were excited about warzone 2 anyway. Launch was a disappointment. People are now saying "It's a free game. They fix things post launch.". Too late for us... we uninstalled. Get the game right on launch, and have those classic cod elements people liked. The thing that set warzone appart was the fact that you could create a class. Now they make it so you can't even buy your loadout. How blind can the developers be when deciding their direction? Having your own class is the main thing that sets cod appart from all other BRs. If anything they should be doubling down on having amazing class progression options.

Moved to Destiny 2, haven’t NOT had fun, only annoying part is the server maintenance but with a game that’s 7 years old, having new content in it regularly, updates are just a way of life now lol COD has bs raids too 🤣 D2 raids are infinitely better, multiplayer becomes fun when you got wild builds and wild guns. I’m looking forward to this title tho.

I really want to support this game, and it looks genuinely incredible and exactly what cod players have been asking for. But I cannot shake the feeling that it’s gonna have an incredible launch, and then be forgotten in a week. We saw it happen with splitgate, everyone thought it was gonna be the halo killer and now it has like 300 players. Granted that game lost support a while ago but the player count plummeted before that. I really want this game to succeed, it’s checking all the boxes, good gunplay, no sbmm, good maps, but we’ll have to see how much post launch content it gets and how long people decide to stick around for until inevitably going back to CoD and complaining about it again.

Whilst I don’t think this game will “kill COD” I do think it actually has a good chance as a market competitor. Totally understand the worry that it’ll end up like Splitgate but I think the difference here is that this isn’t an indie title. Also, Xdefiant’s post launch content is super aggressive, a map every month alone is crazy and if they can keep it at a high quality standard I personally think this game has legs.

CoD set the bar pretty low. They only have nostalgic players. Truly, nothing new in the last handful of years. They just keep going back into their vault of when things were right, and bring it back to keep brain dead FPS players something to do. Splitgate would never defeat halo. There won’t be a game that puts CoD down because of how long they’ve been around. It’s garbage but it’s reality.

The multiplayer in this game is so much better than CODs right now it’s kinda laughable. The movement is amazing and it’s only in beta testing. The net code is making some of the gameplay a bit wonky (dying behind walls) but it’s already been said to be fixed and will be updated upon release. I think with some great private play (1v1s) and other game modes like search and destroy and a steady flow of new content in item shops and playlists etc. it could make this game a competitive shooter for sure

Netcode issues, they already spoke about this tho. The netcode for the beta isn’t the same as the actual game, they just wanted an actual beta, the “ betas “ cod gives aren’t betas, it’s finished products with the illusions that they’ll listen to our feedback, we see they don’t lmao this is a true beta, not a done game, but let the fans play and they can see if they like it, what we need to fix, ect.

I loved COD. A controller player for sure. I love PC games... but I mainly have done strategy based games. Trying to get into things like Valorant is just hard. I'm used to run and gun. I want COD movement/shooting with Valorant abilities (though toned down is fine). Saw a recent KZhead tournament that made very excited about this game. I know this was a Closed Beta and all... but the response from Charlie was lackluster. Maybe, in 4 months, they got more things figured out. Idk, but it's still seems promising. The idea of balancing between controller / pc players is pretty unique for FPS games. The problem is... these big game companies constantly lie out their teeth. This SOUNDS like the FPS I've always wanted. Will they deliver though?

It's better in every way besides production quality. COD has more cinematic visuals and detailed animations. But XDefiant has better gameplay, balancing, map design, more stable performance, and better visual clarity. XDefiant is basically just a competitive alternative to COD. It's more concerned about being a rewarding competitive multiplayer experience than it is about marketing. All COD is anymore is a massive marketing ploy. They care more about crossovers with FIFA and popular movie franchises than anything. And have a weird obsession with pushing this "hardcore milsim" aesthetic despite being neither a hardcore game or a milsim in any way. Some people are going to be turned off by XDefiant because it doesn't have exceptional graphics. Others will enjoy it regardless because it's the first arena shooter in a long time that isn't made specifically to prop up lower skill players and limit better players.

I think this will have some success but fall off pretty hard eventually. Idk man from what I played it was fun but I just feel this whole genre and style of shooter is just overdone. Once people reach max level and get done grinding camos and ranked a lot of people will stop playing and I just don’t know if there’s enough there to make it a massive success you know what I mean? Could be wrong maybe I’m just being biased cus I’m kinda tired of this type of shooter. I just feel like we’ve played this game over and over again for like 20 years and there’s nothing new or interesting about this one that makes it stand out it’s just the same old arena shooter stuff with a different paint job. But like I said I could be wrong that’s just my take on it, if people like yourself end up really loving it then that’s awesome

@@Cookie0927 no. And it's honestly not even close. Ubisoft supports single player games better and for longer with free content updates than Activision supports their live service games. Look at Valhalla for example, Ubisoft supported it with free updates for two years post-launch with quite a bit of free content. They are one of only a handful of devs to go back through a lot of their catalogue and update games so they could run at higher frames on next gen consoles (they did this for games that released as far back as 2015). And despite the MTX they have in their games, the store content in some games can actually be earned in-game (albeit it takes a very long time). Ubisoft has a lot of flaws and it's fair to be skeptical of them in a lot of ways but they're nowhere near as bad as Activision

i generally dont know what was wrong with my game. i played libertad the entire beta. the ultimate never worked for me in game one time. it would work in the training area but not an actual game. id just hit it and go back up to 100 health. the most id see is it would flash the 200 health for less than a second and 100 would reappear. i dont think i actually got the full benefit of the ult 1 time during the beta. also everyone i watch seems like there net code was smooth in comparison, the first 2 days everyones was bad but mine never got that much better. i was constantly dying behind multiple layers of cover, shooting someone first in the head and they just 2 tap me with the same gun, or the even more classic just getting the red indication around the screen that youre being hit but never hearing a bullet. the game needs some tweaks but is super fun and much better than cod in every aspect, i just wish i had a better playing experience. it wasnt every game that felt this way but there was more bad than good. theres gonna be a full netcode update before they release the devs already spoke about it but idk i was personally just having multiple instances of deaths a game that were specifically net code related deaths. everyone i watch is getting at most maybe 4 deaths related to net code i was getting them every other death to me in some games.

Predicting what this game might do based on whether or not Far Cry or AC could retain a playerbase doesn't really make sense. The only games you can really draw anything from are Siege and Hyper Scape. Hyper Scape was awful, Siege was great. So who knows how well XDefiant will do. It's off to a good start tho. And has an interesting idea with the whole crossover thing.

Honestly this might as well be the cause for this game's downfall. I know that gameplay is more important but Jesus Christ they didn't even try with the aesthetics, art direction and theme. This game has absolutely no distinct identity. It looks forgettable af. Same applies to the sound design.

Literally what people said about Siege and we saw how that turned out lol. I think the smash bros style mash up of different IPs is pretty interesting for a shooter and opens up a lot of avenues for Ubisoft to do some cool things.

@@lucas169 the game is a crossover between their IPs. It's all dependent on which of their games the character/map is derived from. The game as it is is just a starting point, I would imagine they have a lot of plans going forward, the game doesn't even have a release date yet. And clearly their primary focus is on gameplay/competitive balance given they hired professional COD players to help design the game. It's free to play and a new IP so not surprising they aren't dumping a ton of resources into it right away and are instead prioritizing certain elements over others. Seems like right now the priority is gameplay and balancing and they'll worry about expanding on visuals and themes later. Respawn did this with Apex, completely overhauled visuals and animations later on after the game became successful. I think a lot of these studios are just wary of going all in on new IPs because of how easily they can die out. Especially with Ubisoft after the disaster that was Hyper Scape.

Netcode issues, they already spoke about this tho. The netcode for the beta isn’t the same as the actual game, they just wanted an actual beta, the “ betas “ cod gives aren’t betas, it’s finished products with the illusions that they’ll listen to our feedback, we see they don’t lmao this is a true beta, not a done game, but let the fans play and they can see if they like it, what we need to fix, ect.

I loved COD. A controller player for sure. I love PC games... but I mainly have done strategy based games. Trying to get into things like Valorant is just hard. I'm used to run and gun. I want COD movement/shooting with Valorant abilities (though toned down is fine). Saw a recent KZhead tournament that made very excited about this game. I know this was a Closed Beta and all... but the response from Charlie was lackluster. Maybe, in 4 months, they got more things figured out. Idk, but it's still seems promising. The idea of balancing between controller / pc players is pretty unique for FPS games. The problem is... these big game companies constantly lie out their teeth. This SOUNDS like the FPS I've always wanted. Will they deliver though?

It's better in every way besides production quality. COD has more cinematic visuals and detailed animations. But XDefiant has better gameplay, balancing, map design, more stable performance, and better visual clarity. XDefiant is basically just a competitive alternative to COD. It's more concerned about being a rewarding competitive multiplayer experience than it is about marketing. All COD is anymore is a massive marketing ploy. They care more about crossovers with FIFA and popular movie franchises than anything. And have a weird obsession with pushing this "hardcore milsim" aesthetic despite being neither a hardcore game or a milsim in any way. Some people are going to be turned off by XDefiant because it doesn't have exceptional graphics. Others will enjoy it regardless because it's the first arena shooter in a long time that isn't made specifically to prop up lower skill players and limit better players.
I think this will have some success but fall off pretty hard eventually. Idk man from what I played it was fun but I just feel this whole genre and style of shooter is just overdone. Once people reach max level and get done grinding camos and ranked a lot of people will stop playing and I just don’t know if there’s enough there to make it a massive success you know what I mean? Could be wrong maybe I’m just being biased cus I’m kinda tired of this type of shooter. I just feel like we’ve played this game over and over again for like 20 years and there’s nothing new or interesting about this one that makes it stand out it’s just the same old arena shooter stuff with a different paint job. But like I said I could be wrong that’s just my take on it, if people like yourself end up really loving it then that’s awesome

@@Cookie0927 no. And it's honestly not even close. Ubisoft supports single player games better and for longer with free content updates than Activision supports their live service games. Look at Valhalla for example, Ubisoft supported it with free updates for two years post-launch with quite a bit of free content. They are one of only a handful of devs to go back through a lot of their catalogue and update games so they could run at higher frames on next gen consoles (they did this for games that released as far back as 2015). And despite the MTX they have in their games, the store content in some games can actually be earned in-game (albeit it takes a very long time). Ubisoft has a lot of flaws and it's fair to be skeptical of them in a lot of ways but they're nowhere near as bad as Activision

i generally dont know what was wrong with my game. i played libertad the entire beta. the ultimate never worked for me in game one time. it would work in the training area but not an actual game. id just hit it and go back up to 100 health. the most id see is it would flash the 200 health for less than a second and 100 would reappear. i dont think i actually got the full benefit of the ult 1 time during the beta. also everyone i watch seems like there net code was smooth in comparison, the first 2 days everyones was bad but mine never got that much better. i was constantly dying behind multiple layers of cover, shooting someone first in the head and they just 2 tap me with the same gun, or the even more classic just getting the red indication around the screen that youre being hit but never hearing a bullet. the game needs some tweaks but is super fun and much better than cod in every aspect, i just wish i had a better playing experience. it wasnt every game that felt this way but there was more bad than good. theres gonna be a full netcode update before they release the devs already spoke about it but idk i was personally just having multiple instances of deaths a game that were specifically net code related deaths. everyone i watch is getting at most maybe 4 deaths related to net code i was getting them every other death to me in some games.
I think the libertad ult worked if u were being healed either by el remedio or by pressing E with the other thing, when u stop getting healed u stop being 200hp

the libertad ultimate left a gas that you had to stay in to get 200hp and as soon as you left the gas you went back to 100hp. it took me a bit to figure it out aswell.

The game has a lot of maps. I think there's 14 in the beta? Plus map voting so most people will pick the same maps over and over which will make it harder to play all of them. Most people playing the beta probably haven't seen all the maps yet.

Not sure what you're referring to exactly since 99% of their games are single player and single player games generally don't retain a playerbase regardless of which game it is.

@@darkshat3077 I mean PvP multiplayer games in general. Not even just shooters, almost all of their games are single player focused and none of them are free to play. Predicting what this game might do based on whether or not Far Cry or AC could retain a playerbase doesn't really make sense. The only games you can really draw anything from are Siege and Hyper Scape. Hyper Scape was awful, Siege was great. So who knows how well XDefiant will do. It's off to a good start tho. And has an interesting idea with the whole crossover thing.
I think this game will hold for a little while but it'll bleed players as soon as something new releases.

Plays better than COD and it'll be refined in future updates. It's a good start at least. The PvP arena shooter genre is nearly dead right now and COD continues to dominate despite being a complete mess. This gives people an alternative, and one they don't have to pay for at that.

Honestly this might as well be the cause for this game's downfall. I know that gameplay is more important but Jesus Christ they didn't even try with the aesthetics, art direction and theme. This game has absolutely no distinct identity. It looks forgettable af. Same applies to the sound design.
Literally what people said about Siege and we saw how that turned out lol. I think the smash bros style mash up of different IPs is pretty interesting for a shooter and opens up a lot of avenues for Ubisoft to do some cool things.
@@lucas169 the game is a crossover between their IPs. It's all dependent on which of their games the character/map is derived from. The game as it is is just a starting point, I would imagine they have a lot of plans going forward, the game doesn't even have a release date yet. And clearly their primary focus is on gameplay/competitive balance given they hired professional COD players to help design the game. It's free to play and a new IP so not surprising they aren't dumping a ton of resources into it right away and are instead prioritizing certain elements over others. Seems like right now the priority is gameplay and balancing and they'll worry about expanding on visuals and themes later. Respawn did this with Apex, completely overhauled visuals and animations later on after the game became successful. I think a lot of these studios are just wary of going all in on new IPs because of how easily they can die out. Especially with Ubisoft after the disaster that was Hyper Scape.
