old ringtones, elevators, the music you'd hear from your mom's little flip phone when she was on hold with the bank, the local TV channels that only showed you the weather...this music just feels like a portal. its very 80s and 90s inspired but so much of that spilled into our 2000s childhood that made us feel connected to the music too. i think nowadays music can become a trend and die out so fast because the internet cycles through things at such a much faster pace than it once did. i guess thats why i value these playlists that capture those truly timeless pre-modern internet moments. their value just cant be erased with time.

Spoken like a true time traveler brother! We definitely was in a Golden time for everything back then. I could sit on a beach with a speaker bumping this all day through the night 👌🏾🔊🙌🏾💎
This is the music I would hear sitting next to my mother in her downtown office as a child in 90’s Miami. I can still hear her on her windows 98 computer & see late 80’s architecture of the space mixed with soft 90’s aesthetics, like peach walls, softly adding to the ocean overlook out the window.

If anyone’s wondering the genre is called slushwave, its a subgenre of vaporwave
odd.. I always associated slushwave with much longer, slower, reverb-heavy tracks (much like Telepath).
@@clurgee4923 yeah it is telepath thing, slushwave in general is just vaporwave but with more of the palm tree mall vibes like telepath, so pretty much more reverbed stuff than vaporwave
And radio like, mostly gives off yknow those palm tree mall and beach ish vibes, like idk how to explain, watery? Oceany? Idk
@@shaplene i totally see where you're getting at. love music that's like that especially, as well as stuff emulating Weatherscan/smooth easy listening stuff if that makes sense. I think, however, you could be confusing the genre mallsoft with slushwave. Mallsoft is basically vaporwave, usually sampled from smooth jazz or muzak with reverb to emulate the feeling of being in a mall or at the beach; think Cat Corp. (his song HEL-AMS is my favorite). Slushwave, though, I feel is arranged much differently than standard vaporwave. Excessive looping (usual tracks last 15 minutes or more), lots and lots of reverb to the point its hard to distinguish instruments sometimes, and echo, to make a "slushy" lucid dream-y sound. I could be wrong though, I'm not an expert!! You could be right, I'm just commenting what I believe here. And, this is a perfect opportunity to check out Virtual Dream Plaza (Telepath's alternate moniker)'s release "一見鍾情" my favorite of his!
@@clurgee4923 oh i see, yeah i never heard of that genre before so i thought that was slushwave bc they kinda sound the same, vaporwave subgenres are kinda confusing but however i love them either way lol
These are musical liminal spaces. You were never meant to listen to it, it was just there to wallpaper over a transitional space: on hold on the phone, while shopping, when checking the weather or the TV guide… this is the music that filled the interstitial spaces of mundane life.

The data is still there. Don't panic. First things first, if the drive has it's own power supply, replace that. Second thing is, look up data restoration near you. Even if you completely dunk your drive in honey, then throw it across the room, the plates inside are what hold the data, and while a little pricey, you can restore everything. I just transferred data from my phone's internal memory. The phone had been dropped in the ocean, and I got the data off with a little soldering. Data is durable.

this is how exactly my life heard and felt living in a beach city in the 2000´s
The 90s were the peak of human civilization. Since 2001 everything went downhill...
why did something happen
Mfw Gulf War Mfw Al-Qaeda insurgency in Yemen Mfw start of Somali Civil War Mfw Djiboutian, Afghan, Georgian, Somalian and Algerian civil war Mfw 1993 Russian constitutional crisis Mfw ADF insurgency (ongoing) Mfw Maoist insurgency in Bangladesh
I’m a 2003 born. My entire childhood was sitting on a chair next to a computer with my best friend playing NFS 2000. That too it was Windows XP. 2000s werent downfalls. It was a precious era like the 90s✨✨✨🥰🥰🥹🥹
