This list makes me relive the feeling of being tired in the car, seeing the street lights flashing by, while semi-listening to the late-night radio. • I would put this on when I was driving home to Glasgow from the outskirts of Liverpool after visiting my best friend. The drive was long and I wouldn't usually get home until a little before midnight. There was some calming, serene and curiously nostalgic about the drive home when this music came on as I sped northbound through the night. Windows down, the air was crisp and as I drove along, passing the many street lamps lighting my way. Occasionally, I would pass a truck or another car and for a second, wonder what they could be going through. Eventually, I'd return home, knowing that I'd make another road trip. I was happy because I could have these feelings again.

There's honestly a market for this nostalgic kind of vibe and I wish more restaurants and malls realized that instead of trying to "modernize" constantly, ripping out the soul and appeal of the place. Those neon lights contributed to such a warm, welcoming atmosphere which you just don't get anymore. There's just something so chill about the glow of neon lights and the mall music in the background.

My parents just got home from the supermarket and bought me my requested comics, which I will read as I watch TGIF on ABC: Full House followed by Family Matters then Perfect Strangers and wrapped up with either Mr. Belvedere or Just the 10 of us. • Vaporwave at night can do one of three things to the average listener: it can transport your mind to a different plane of existence whilst simultaneously making you philosophically inclined, give you the energy to combat the night and show the world who you really are, or hit you with the depressing realization that you peaked somewhere in life and it's been going downhill ever since. Nightwave is eerie and erratic since it takes what vaporwave is known for and adds a subtle or obvious vibe in the mix. It Maybe night partying, night pondering, night adventuring, or night depression. Whatever the case may be, vaporwave satisfies any night vibe, and I love it!

  • Alright, true story, folks: Last year, in late november-early december, Vaporwave, esecially the more reverby stuff like macintosh plus, made me feel in a different state. I remember describing myself sometimes as "high on aesthetics". One morning though, I just stopped listening to it. I was building a town in minecraft, nothing but the light emanating from the TV in the basement, i was listening to late night lofi, and all was well at first, but something felt wrong. It was an eerie sense of false nostalgia for an era i had never lived in, due to the echoey, dream-like tone of music i was listening to. I felt scared for some reason. Perhaps the slowed down voice singing unintelligibly was the cause, i guess I'll never be sure. But somehing kept me listening. All of a sudden, the music was getting more nightmarish(although that's a very stong way to describe it). It felt like listening to a fever dream, my mind starting to feel distorted. A sound of glass shattering abruptly appeard in the track, and i threw my headphones down, screaming. Now, a year later, I've finally come back to late night lofi, steering clear of the eerie k-mart thumbnails. I don't feel that high that I used to, and probably for the better, so now, i just have a grand old time listening to this.

    • I was a little kid when life was like this, and it was great. Everything seemed to be stable, and okay in the world. There were incidences here and there, but the overall vibe of the 80s was optimistic, and positive. We even had an oil crisis in 1987 and by 1988 and 89 it was totally forgotten. In the 80s everyone was excited about the future, we felt like were progressing in the right direction. Movies, music, art was all original, new and creative. Everything was upbeat, but mostly because nearly everyone had money. A dollar could go a lot further back then, and everyone had plenty. Politicians always had their bickering but largely they got along well, and usually tried to work things out. People dressed more sophisticated back then too. There was plenty of casual attire of course, but people would dress up to go out for a night on the town. You didn't have to worry much about something crazy going on or thugs ruining everything at night. Sure, they always had their drama in their part of town, but there were parts of town you could go to and enjoy the nightlife mostly drama free. Basically, everything seemed functional. I hope that one day we will be at least functional again, and people can be optimistic again, so that you can experience a society that is full of hope and wonder, like I got to experience in the 80s.

There's only 2 anchor stores left, and one or two people meandering around where the food court once was bustling with people. The music echos throughout the building. At one time it would be drowned out by people having lunch, getting their pictures taken, playing games at the arcade, or going through their purchases. Now you can hear it clearly as you shuffle around the main section and look at all the closed stores.

  • 2001 It's 8 pm in the evening, striding around the mall away from the family. Thinking about things youth thinks not a care in the world, before you know it, its 12 am the gang is heading back home 20 min on the highway coming back after an adventure. This mix does a good job reminding me back in those time that I miss so dearly!
