One of several reasons why crocodilians survived the cataclysm that killed the dinosaurs.... they are great parents, they vocalized back and forth and thus know when the eggs are hatching, and the parents even stick around for a while during the young one's first weeks. And I agree.... the shot of the young one looking out from between the mom's teeth.... lets me really appreciate the size difference and also the gentle care of the adult female. This 75 year old lady loves reptiles !
Well said Sally,Hope you are having a wonderful day so far?
Many dinosaurs were also great parents. Parenthood was not a factor in why the crocodilians survived when the non-avian dinosaurs did not.
@@stuffynosepatrol they are many factors but that's one of them
@@ahmedbabiker6562 no it isn't because if it was then plenty of dinosaurs would have survived as well since we have plenty of evidence showing that many dinosaurs cared for their young, some even more than crocodiles.
i really thought '75 year old lady' referred to the croc

team BForCREEPER they are reptile and study shows so were dinosaurs were too so there's a connection between the two ^^
Kurliz Makara Dinosaurs are birds.
Lilac Lily Vise versa and study shows birds could also be close relatives of dinosaurs
Lilac Lily Yeah birds and reptiles are so closely related. Notice the scales on the bird's feet
The general scientific consensus is that birds and crocodilians are the last living archosaurs (a group of animals also containing the extinct dinosaurs and pterosaurs) and represent different branches of their evolutionary tree; crocodilians are more closely related to animals that lived before the first dinosaurs, and only adopted their modern appearance during the Cretaceous period. Birds, on the other hand, evolved from small feathered theropods during the Jurassic period and are thus direct descendants of dinosaurs.

That's how mom is..... doesn't matter what species it's, all mom loves their children
Not true. In many species the mother will dip as soon as the eggs are laid, or eat her own offspring. Pigs are notorious for eating their own piglets, to the point where pig farmers will often separate the mother from her offspring until she has calmed down from any potential desire to eat them.

Oh man thank you for that I almost forgot that lol
0:06 wonder why they sound like laser guns
yes yes I believe those sounds are for the mother to hear. It is like a baby crying for its mom I believe. I am probably wrong though.
It's a happy greeting noise not a fearful one, they're saying hi to their mom.
NinjaPirateCat I used the crying baby analogy to explain that The noise was to get the mom’s attention. I never meant for it to be mistaken for as a noise made from fear from that analogy.
Or maybe laser guns sound like them
Baby crocodile: cute laser noise. Adult crocodile: tank engine sound.
"And spy hatchling is still filming" It's a very important point to note indeed : it means the crocodile managed to pick up the camera contraption with her jaws... Without damaging the delicate circuitry, leading to it reaching the water while still being capable of recording what's going on around it.
How funny, Spy Hatchling gets scooped up by the mother crocodile. #HubermanProject #crocodile 🐊🎞📽📷📹
Interesting fact- some turtles sneak in when mom isn't around and lay their eggs with the crocs eggs they're protected along with the rest, and she'll even transport the baby turtles along with her real babies to the water

Baby Crocs ARE SO CUTE!
Adorable ❤
We need a remote control spy hatchling that can move and swim
This is quite beautiful. Her jaw strength can easily crush them, but instead uses her jaw as a way to transport her young babies to safety. Something so powerful is being used in a gentle way
Fun fact: Crocodiles and Alligators communicate to their children inside of the eggs! The mother speaks to them and the children responds back! It also has something to do with the syncing of the egg hatching, here's another fact, when the children get too big for the mouth, they just ride on her head. 🥰
I didn’t know croc moms did this. Absolutely awestruck.
I was smiling ear to ear watching this for some reason...these things are dangerous...but so cute when they are young and the mom is so gentle...screw it im getting one and its going to sleep in bed with me!!
Pryda-Z just have the money for the food and everything else will go good by itself. dont be afraid to have a crocodile as your "pet", see it as a part of your family, she or he will know that when you raise her or him. i mean, its not dangerous to let it sleep with you, no matter how old it gets. if you love it and she knows you are a good person with a good heart and soul, she will have no bad feelings about you. and also, animals dont see the world like humans, some things could be disrespectful and insulting to the animal (which isnt for humans). well, there are more things i would like to tell you, but yeah :P just get information from PROVEN and/or TRUSTFUL sources! you could be a life saver for that one crocodile. have a good life, cya

I think deep down she knew spy hatchling wasnt real considering how rough she was with it and how gentle she was with the rest
Spy hatchling was partially attached to the "egg" and wouldn't come "unstuck". So she was a bit more rough due to having handled the egg casting as well. She basically spat him out when she reached the water, since not being a real croc "he" wouldn't move.
1:13 as safe as a crock could be eh?
