  • New Fever fan here! Clark's had a target on her back for YEARS. She's used to it. Ever see the video of the large section of an opposing team (high school) chanting "Overrated! Overrated!" at her? She just proceeded to knock down three after three and shut them all up. She thrives on that competition, that challenge. She'll be fine. 😊

    • the problem is the team she ended up with stated in no uncertain terms that they did NOT want her and felt that and I quote some of the players, "we don't need her". The freezeout to manufacture her into a bust will be sudden and swift. They don't want her to save them, they want to make an example of her.

I’m a born and raised Iowa fan now becoming a Fever fan, and I’m impressed by both her and Coach Sides already (this is my first interview hearing from them). Seems like Caitlin will be in good hands and have a great team and coaching group to learn from.

    • Lin was the Fever head coach in 2012 when we won the championship. Super glad that she's in our front office. I am sure she is a great mentor to Sides as a 2nd year head coach, but she also seems to know how to give her space to be the head coach. Another basketball treasure from Tennessee.

(Never forget that Dunn brought the anthem kneeling to Indiana in 2017 and they have never STOOD for the anthem since.) No, Dunn wanted REESE with the #1 but ownership stepped in. • What I love about Caitlin is her maturity. She doesn't get drawn in by questions that trap her but focuses on sending positive message all around. When asked about rivals and who she would like to meet against she immediately pivoted to meet her teammates in Boston and others. When asked about what she can bring to the Fever, she immediately said her passing and that she would feed Boston and other bigs on the team. We all know about her shooting logo 3s but focused on feeding her teammates. What other player last night spoke about buying tickets to games? She understands that it's a business first and foremost. Instead of complaining about wage gap and jersey sales like other wnba players. She also has sponsorship deals with State Farm and Nike. She is doing behind the scenes documentary with Omaha production on the live of college student athletes that will bring awareness for younger players and kids that want to grow up like her. Talk about a new clothing line and shoes. She already has the bag and doing what she can instead of complaining.

    • @@CGMedia2023 I don't know about the Team and the League, but so far all I see is the team and the league trying to take advantage of CC, which is fair. The Team so far has been hospitable but it's still early. The League set up 36 out of 40 Fever games as nationally televised, which may be taking advantage of CC but it's propping up CC's image. What is discouraging is the other players. Instead of welcoming CC they forget that one day they may be one team with CC in Team USA or Olympics. However, say that you are right in that they want to make an example of CC. What benefit will that result for them? All CC is doing is raising the awareness of the WNBA and increasing ticket sales. Hopefully, one day the WNBA will finally make a profit and that will raise all of the players salary. If they succeed and CC fails and is humiliated, so what then? Ticket sales will plummet but Indiana Fever games will still be packed. Or say all ticket sales will drop, then WNBA still won't be profitable. No salary increase for anyone. That is the same for the past 20 years. However, CC will still get money from her Sponsorship deals and her fans will still buy her branded shoes along with other deals. CC is already in cooperation with Omaha Production and developing content. CC can still be invited to many talk shows and SNL. It will just be a missed opportunity for other players, the Teams, and the League.

    • @@jihyotwice3159 This won't be the first time the WNBA has made an example of a touted player that didn't fit the hivemind. Remember what they did to Candice Wiggins. (Coaches ordered a freeze out and she got run out of the league entirely for refusing sexual advances of several players.) As to what they gain from that? Going back to being left alone and keeping their precious "spots" with nobody around to distrupt their toxic practices. (The NBA fully subsidizes them so they know they're bulletproof.) They don't want anyone to elevate the league, they want to maintain their power and ability to push "the message".

    • Absolutely. And also Clark is lucky to have the Fever, who have top notch people and facilities. It8no accident she came out when she did. I think if certain other teams had gotten the #1 pick, she may have stayed in college. The ladies going to LA and Chicago get to play in bigger cities, but their facilities cannot compete at all. Chicago practices at a public facility that isn't near the player housing. Candace Parker said she never had a permanent locker until she left LA. Absolutely crazy. The Vegas facility is amazing but the Fever commitment to quality should get more shine. Fever players can walk over to the Fieldhouse anytime of the day or night and get shots up or hit the weight room. Got tickets for 8 games this year, double what I attended last year. I can't believe how long we gotta wait though. 😂

  • Now that's the real women of the WNBA-dressed to kill at the draft gala- Wow! Congrats to the Fever with your draft picks. Now with all the attention and massive wave of ratings and extra ticket sales revenue, get your ladies into some real 'form fitting' uniforms. Not sexualizing attire, but fitted for the female form. Something which will set the ladies apart from the men's 1990's tee-shirts and gym shorts. More fashion that would help keep the fans filling stadiums. Finesse and style of women's basketball...
