  • Someone asked me the other day, why is women’s basketball so popular now? Two things, 1. Caitlin and Reese brought back the old school rivalry that we love and both are really good players. 2. It came naturally to us, it wasn’t hyped before we saw it, 2. ESPN didn’t shove it down everyone’s throat and tell us it’s great when it’s not, the public came to the sport naturally because the game was good.

To me I thought it was boring. Last year has been the first time I've ever really kept an eye on women's basketball. Clark and Reese made it fun. Then I started to look further into it. I've been watching highlights and everything. Watched all the championships. And now for the first time ever I watched the wnba draft! I watch it religiously for the nfl but never this. It's crazy how interesting they've made it for me. Definitely gonna be fun to watch this coming up season! Congrats to Clark and all the young ladies that got drafted!

  • Caitlin Clark is going to be one of the young women who quite possibly save the WNBA from extinction. With what is going on right now has a bit of the feel of when Magic and Bird came out in 1979, there is a lot of hype and pressure on her right now. We can all agree that her upbringing will carry her through all of the garbage she will have to face, her humbleness just pours from her, she knows there will be haters and she will not allow them to really bother her. With her going to the Fever she will also have strong support there as her boyfriend works for the Indiana Pacers as well so she will have a strong anchor to help keep her level headed. Her parents should be very proud of her she is a direct reflection on them and they did an amazing job raising her. I am looking forward to seeing her play and I am not the biggest Women's Basketball fan but seeing what Caitlin Clark did over her career at Iowa tells me she is truly something special, and someone to watch.

Although I'm not sure how I feel about the weekly spots. Don't get me wrong, it will be awesome having her on the show so much, but I hope it doesn't result in people getting tired of her. She already faces so much hate just from people who don't want to see her succeed. I hope that her being in the spotlight doesn't make this any worse. It will also bring up what every athlete with a prominent media presence faces; some people will question how committed she is to the sport, even though any reasonable person knows that this idea of a "distraction" isn't real. Regardless, Caitlin has already shown how strong and mature she is as an athlete and a human, so I know she will handle anything that gets in her way with class and come out on top.
